- We were lucky enough to be staying near this temple when we visited Ambalangoda on the way down south. Let's check it out and see what you think. Please let me know what you think.
Sunandarama Maha Vihara, also known as Maha pansala is located in the southern part of Sri Lanka. It is situated 65 kilometers north of Colombo, 36 kilometers south of Galle and 200 meters east from Ambalangoda railway station. This sacred place holds a land of nearly 5 acres. Traditionally this "Vihara" belongs to "Vilegoda", "Nambimulla", "Maha Ambalangoda" and "Paniyanduwa" which are known as "Sathara peruwa" (the four states which are benefited by the Vihara). Since early days these states have been provided the support to maintain the Vihara. Early before this place became a vicar, it was known that "Ganninanselaya" stayed here.

80 % Srilankans live in these types of houses, it can variate the land extends and the size of the houses
But this is how you will find the living style of Srilankas. The area you are living and visited is upper middle class.

Sri lanka has 2500 years old temples.. You can see, still these temples are active Pilgrimage sites.. If you get a chance go to Anuradhapura and see all these native Buddhist culture of sinhalese.

…and no, dogs are not reacting to skin colour, but your scent, your gait etc and furthermore you are a stranger..so some dogs will get a bit insecure and react by barking.. just never look strange dogs directly in their eyes. When I assess dogs, I look at a point between their eyes, so I am not threatening. I can watch the reactions and not trigger any emotions.. take care!

U get these houses every where In a town... 60-70% are in single storey two storey houses.. we live in just out of colombo... Every where is this..mostly in towns ...other villages u get cozy but old houses with near acre of lands ..

Reference to the number 2442 is a reference to 2442 B.E (Buddhist era). Much like BC and AD there is a Buddhist calendar which began from the day Buddha passed (year 543 BC). Most temples in Sri Lanka will have dates with reference to BE. I believe this is the case in Thailand as well.

Actually these most of properties are old here, srilanka was one of richest country in asia just next to japan earlier era before like terrarist war and some political corruptions ,
srilanka had one of world richest person calld upali wijewardhana , he had a chocolate factory , upali mazda car factory , thats why those days srilanka calld sweesterland in asia and he had upali fieat car factory too , and radio production calld unic radio and so on then and he had his own private jet too,
But this era is not good in srilanka,

In Srilanka old mean more than 1000 years ,because we have temple's more than 2000 years old ,plenty in anuradhapura, and polonnaruwa kingdoms and check on the net

Dambulla cave temple is 2000 yars old.
While it's true u can't let the fishes as pets though some people do fondle them from time to time when changing their water .. but I personally i love wolves. I have 1 wolf and 5 dogs and 7 cats.

Lord Krishna was the 8th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, some 5000 years ago during the period of Mahabharata. Mahabharata was the world war of ancient times fought some 5000 years ago in the Indian subcontinent, between the Kaurava and the Pandava princes, who were paternal cousins.

Within last 1600 years some Hindu traditions mixed with Buddhism due to Interference of Hindu Queens from India. Actually, when we study history in deep, Statue should be God "Upulwan" (Local God) and not the God Wishnu. God Wishnu is a very old god (Birth should be before around 26000 years). But God Upulwan is not that much old (It should be around before 2900 years). However, similarities in appearance and interference of Indian Queens change the reality.

They can't make you wealthy, Pretty, popular and .....etc. If you live well without harming (+helping others with honest intention) any live, after death you can become a powerful god subject to above conditions and subject to past life activities irrespective of your religion or race...
