Since the Pump covered the Original Tow-Point of the Unimog they most likely put this one there instead. This "Anhängemaul" is used to pull other Vehicles out of a ditch, get pulled out of a ditch yourself with a Towbar (A Metalpole with an eyelet at each end | A "Abschleppstange") and it also can be used to maneuver turntable-trailers in a tight spot.
