Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Ford Ranger 2022

- The Ford Ranger and VW Amarok are corporate twins with identical structure and safety equipment. The two vehicles share a common rating, derived from some tests performed on the Ranger by ANCAP and some tests performed by Euro NCAP on the Amarok.
Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

This middle airbag thing is a fantastic idea, even for single drivers in side crash. Stops too much lateral movement and I hope all cars start including it.
Personally, I believe all cars should have the standard 6 airbags they have now, PLUS, a driver's knee airbag, a center front airbag as seen here, and side body airbags also for rear passengers. I wouldn't mind even seeing a roll over roof bag in future, I believe hyundai is working on this.

Amarok and Ford Collaborate. Amarok but chassis is from Ford Ranger.

i'm confused video title says Ford ranger, but the pick up front logo is for volkswagen.
Looks like this video test both Ranger and Amarok, they share platform so the results are probably very similar
ranger and the amarok are *very* similar so they just use the amarok for some tests
