I was able to find the Looky-Loo storybook on the merchandise page. Also, I don't know if the references to classic literature in this project is supposed to hint at certain themes, but the play Sally was holding was an adaptation of "The Telltale Heart," a story about hiding a murder and the guilt coming back to haunt the muderer. If these literary references do mean something, this might imply that W or someone related to them might've been the one to (or attempted to) destroy everything related to "Welcome Home" and all the materials keep coming back to them whether they like it or not.
I'm a little dumb sometimes LOL! But yes! I feel like it definitely has symbolism! I hope to do a video diving deeper into that soon! But telltale heart is so spooky on it's own, I'm so curious to see where this leads!

It seems to me like whatever this entity is goes after the neighbors when they're suffering some kind of mental health issue or are telling themselves they're fine when they're really not. First we saw it with Eddie, now we're seeing it with Poppy. During Homewarming, the neighbors give Eddie the day off, even though they inadvertently make him feel useless and lonely, which leads to him having a breakdown. And Sally and the other neighbors try to make Poppy feel safer by bricking up her home, but that only worsens her anxiety. This feels to me like an allegory for poor handling of mental health issues, by both oneself and those around them, and how that can manifest into something darker and infect one's life like the black substance we've been seeing everywhere. I have a theory that this entity is some kind of tulpa or manifestation of the characters' underlying issues, like Eddie's feelings of insignificance and Poppy's anxiety. When shown on screen, kid's show characters are usually expected to be entertaining and have their problems solved over the course of a single episode. They probably weren't given much freedom to effectively deal with their mental health issues, and were probably never taught how to do so in a healthy manner. So their insecurities and anxieties just grew and festered into something dark after being left unchecked, and it eventually destroyed their happy home and led to their show becoming forgotten in an to prevent the spread. Mental health issues and queerness were still pretty stigmatized during the era in which this show takes place (late 60s and early 70s), and so maybe the characters didn't "fit in" with audience expectations, which led to the neighbors trying to mask aspects of themselves to keep everyone happy, kind of like how people do to fit into societal expectations and avoid being social outcasts. This could partly explain the eye👁️ symbolism we keep seeing everywhere, not just Home or the dark entity watching the characters and taking out anyone who doesn't meet expectations, but also the audience. When it feels like every aspect of your life is being watched and judged, you may try to bury your issues only for them to go from bad to worse.
I think when Poppy says "Open the door!" What do you want? The door is open." Remember how it is stated in Poppy's bio that her puppet usually has the other neighbors get and do things for her and how she's never seen outside of her barn? She is scared of leaving her barn at all, and the fear is so strong she is basically a shut in. I believe she is telling whoever it is that is knocking from the outside of the barn that they can come in. When she says "the door is open", she means its unlocked and that they can walk in if they want. Since she is too afraid to leave her barn, she is paranoid of going to the door to open it herself, since she's deathly afraid of the outside world and all the supposed dangers that might be waiting for her outside of her home/sanctuary. She is more afraid of exiting her house than she is of having intruders break in, so I believe she has a very extreme case of agoraphobia, to the point where she would rather an intruder come in, which she doesnt seem to realize would be more likely to kill her in her circumstance. And perhaps(and this is just a theory) she had someone come to her door before asking for her help and because she was afraid to even open the door, she unknowingly let the person die, and so the heavy breathing and knocking we're hearing is that entity haunting her.
I'm glad you said that, if you notice in the Halloween audio Sally thanks Poppy for letting her use her house for the party, and at the Christmas party at Wally's house everyone is waiting for Eddie except who? Exactly Poppy!
I have a theory regarding poppies dialogue toward the end of the clip. As we have seen many times in the past with this wonderful series, there is heavy references/hints towards home being abusive and possibly a cult leader or something falling under that umbrella. Using my personal experience with both of these topics as well as what I have heard from others, what poppy is saying could be mirroring how it feels in an abusive relationship (of any kind). The door is open. The door is open.The door is always open. But you can't leave. The door wont open. The thing in the way of my current theory, however, is the fact that it sounds like there is something in the house *with her.* Does it want to leave? Was poppy saying that the door was open as a way to shoo it away? What even was it? There must've been something. It wasnt wally, as its more likely with the current way the story is going that he's likely not an antagonist, but perhaps even a victim, paired of course with the fact he was outside her home after the windows were bricked up. And it was probably not home for obvious reasons... or was it? Looking at the neighborhood, and looking at all the other houses, as well as the fact that the clock tower has a face and seems to be sentient, what if all the houses were once alive similar to the manner that home is? Maybe they functioned similar to that of a mycorrhizal network, that many plants use to practically communicate with each other. However, home got greedy and wanted control, so using the 'mycorrhizal network' he sucked the life out of the other houses, and now uses them one by one as vessels to get to the other neighbors, even in the comfort of they're own homes. WHAT IF- home is not just home, but the entire neighborhood. After all, the name of the entire neighbor hood IS Home. Also, during the beginning, she seems almost scared, nervous. Not just because she wanted an excuse out of the play. Sally was originally going to have her as a role in her play, but home wanted a role. What if home (using what was previously theorized to be a corpse being used by home as a vessel) intimidated and threatened her in order to acquire the role itself? I know, it seems stupid and silly, but if home Is the monster and terrible being that many theorize it to be, then it may not be too far off. It wants to be seen. It wants to be involved, in the spotlight, watching, observing, controlling, and making sure everyone plays along just right. If it hadn't gotten a place in the seemingly silly little one-off play, it would've given It a sense of losing some form of control, even in something so little. And even after the fact, it went back to intimidate and continue threatening poppy, to put her in what it deemed her place, as lower than itself, and to make sure she would never get in its way in the near future. Did I just write a giant paragraph for all that? Yes, yes I did. I do not regret a thing. P.S; Screw my sleep schedule. And I love ur vids. :]
I HAVE A THEORY!!! This might be incorrect but hear me out: in the video for the book “brick by brick”, we hear Poppy say “What do you want? The door is open!” What if “you” is us the viewer? We can see this in one of the old update from welcome home when we click on a drawing made from crayon (basically we know that those ones are from Wally) don’t ask me why, but one of the things wally said was AND I QUOTE! “What are you waiting for, to hear me again?” This could mean that poppy is facing the same thing Wally was. This could be something totally different but it makes complete sense why she said this
It seems that Home wants to be the center of attention, she attacked Eddie for not participating in the festival of worship , now Poppy probably because she would be the star of the play, because everyone was giving her more attention than Home or because she doesn't leave her nest, so she wouldn't see Home much to worship . This would explain the existence of the show and why they are trying to revive it, all with the goal of Home having more people worshiping.
@@rad1165 Yes, Home seems to have some ability that makes the neighbors return to worhisp when they rebel or do some bad behavior, as it did with Eddie and apparently with Poppy, the strange thing is that with Poppy it was very different. Clown is playing with the ambiguity of whether Home is the cause of the evil or the mysterious creature that was mentioned in the Halloween episode.
Throughout the book we know they’re trying to recreate Edgar Allan Poe “The telltale heart” but another book is referenced in the part where they shut poppy in her barn. The story also by Edgar is the Cask of Amontillado where one of the characters is shut in to die much like poppy
Considering Julie plays the narrator that killed the dead guy who's heart was beating and haunting him, it seems Poppy's role was originally planned to be that of the dead guy(since if you think about it, he IS the obsession of the story, therefore making him the "star" I guess you could say) If we look back at the "Jack and the Beanstalk" role Sally gives to Poppy, Poppy was going to play a beanstalk that would be chopped down by an axe So Sally somehow unknowingly keeps giving Poppy roles where she is either dead or destined to die or be destroyed, and the neighbors unknowingly gave Poppy another "dead guy" role by bricking her up So this update pretty much confirms Poppy is deeply paranoid and afraid of Death itself...

I knew something was up when the neighbors were putting up bricks on the window of Poppy's house. Either they have lost their minds, no pun intended, or they don't know about comforting people.
It seems that Home has an interest in keeping others from getting too much attention. They always go into the scene meaning well with trying to help Poppy have a part in the play instead of hiding or giving Eddie a day off but each story suddenly takes a turn, with Eddie being made to feel useless and isolated from everyone else and Poppy literally being bricked into her house and isolated. It's often Sally who instigates the situation where attention, and especially Wally's attention, is taken away from Home and she often gets everyone involved. Meanwhile Barnaby tends to instigate the sudden change, as he seemed to be the one who turned 'let's build her up' into 'let's brick up her house', which makes me think he's the character that Home controls. I think Home wants everything to stay just as it is, for none of the characters to develop or let them make breakthroughs that might make them change process of doing this it broke the other characters mentally due to how stunted their development is and pretty much consumed the neighbourhood and everything to do with the show itself just to keep everything as it should be.
am I the only one who noticed it went from "Dont forget to wave up high!" to "Dont forget to wave down below!" like the quote "as above, so below"? or am I just going crazy?
I’m not sure if should laugh or be in utter horror at the fact that the first thing the neighbors thought to do to make sure Poppy doesn’t see the play was to literally *BRICK UP HER HOUSE’S WINDOWS.* LIKE OUT OF ALL THE THINGS THEY COULD HAVE DONE, _THEY DECIDED TO GET SOME BRICKS, GLUE, AND CEMENT AND COVER HER WINDOWS WITH THEM,_ *AND EVERYONE JUST THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA.* And even if they really were just using glue, that’s still going to be a nightmare to clean up……. (Side note: aside from the fact that nobody seems to know what using cement entails and they’re not going to just be able to use some soap and water to get rid of it, the page with poppy staring at sally through the last sliver of window that isn’t covered up genuinely freaked me tf out and idk why-) (PS, the Sally X Poppy shippers are going to go absolutely nuts after this update lol)
Same, it genuinely didn't deserve to be ravaged and then just forgotten out of nowhere like it did. I really wish people were more patient with it and clown. Nicer, even, as some of the stuff I saw from a select few was pretty not okay. Despite how many fans have left, I still love it with all my heart and it remains my #1 fandom next to good omens and lackadaisy. :]

I got slightly confused when I started reading the Guestbook part..like-..that part 'Someone I did not know was acting as if they were representing me' Well, Is W really an employee or perhaps someone more than just an employee? (or..I dunno..Wally's handler as Wally is a puppet, isn't he?) Wally was kinda leaving the doodles-...But do W knows that Wally can even do that? Perhaps for them, Wally is just a lifeless puppet of a long-forgotten show..So W (maybe as Wally's past handler or something) says that someone was representing HIM and not just Wally leaving messages..i dunno if anybody understood me, tee-hee, but that's my theory, i dunno if it's good or bad though.

I'm not sure. But from what I'm picking up, Welcome Home is an actual place people can visit in the WH universe. My evidence being, the transcript of the book where the storyteller has been heard interacting directly with the characters in the neighbourhood. Eg, Sally acknowledged the storyteller once in the audio/transcript, and the storyteller asked someone if a seat was taken so he could sit and watch the play (this part is not heard in the audio but is found in the transcript which I find interesting.) Transcript: STORYTELLER: As Poppy returned to… Cozy-ing up her barn, Sally stood there in silence. What would she do now?! She was speechless! Taken aback! Shocked! Appalled- SALLY: Tch, tch- Silence, Storyteller! Homeregard, it seems there has been an opening… And the other part of the transcript: STORYTELLER: Barnaby mumbled. And hurry they did! The neighbors quickly blocked up the remainder of Poppy’s windows until the very last brick was popped into place. Never had a home looked so safe and cozy! (NOTE: Audio becomes muffled and is heard beneath other voices. Some can be transcribed and will be placed below.) STORYTELLER: Everyone rejoiced at their successful job before heading to Wally’s house to finish setting up for the play. Oh, it looks like I’ve talked a bit too much, they’re already in the middle of it all! Here, let’s find a spot to peer in. Is this seat taken? ???: No, please sit with me. I feel like the person in the away from prying eyes website is a version of Wally, wether it be original, copy, or just a different version. I will only be referring to them as W though. “Someone else was acting as if they were representing me”. It was shown to be Wally with many of the drawings and that one secret where you’d highlight everything on that empty page and it said something (forgot what, but I think one said “you won’t write back”) and the names were “Wally” and a version of it but messed up. I can’t explain it, but I think one of those versions was W trying to communicate with the other version of themself. Idk which is which, but I think it has a little traction.

I kinda feel like whatever is happening to the neighbors (mostly Eddie so far-) is that it’s mostly the anxious neighbors, kinda like Eddie with bugs but we definitely know poppy can be worrisome, they DEFINITELY caught me off guard with that one though! And I’ve seen some theories that maybe the puppeteer for poppy was stuck in the costume or something, almost if they were claustrophobic BUT YET AGAIN! Wouldn’t frank as the smart and responsible one kinda day the idea was NOT a good idea to BRICK UP POPPYS WINDOW? Welcome home is a horror project created by party coffin/clown that follows a lost media puppet show from the 70s. While the appearance is cheery, there's a lot of stuff hidden below the surface. When shown on screen, kid's show characters are usually expected to be entertaining and have their problems solved over the course of a single episode. They probably weren't given much freedom to effectively deal with their mental health issues, and were probably never taught how to do so in a healthy manner. So their insecurities and anxieties just grew and festered into something dark after being left unchecked, and it eventually destroyed their happy home and led to their show becoming forgotten in an to prevent the spread.
Mental health issues and queerness were still pretty stigmatized during the era in which this show takes place (late 60s and early 70s), and so maybe the characters didn't "fit in" with audience expectations, which led to the neighbors trying to mask aspects of themselves to keep everyone happy, kind of like how people do to fit into societal expectations and avoid being social outcasts.
This could partly explain the eye👁️ symbolism we keep seeing everywhere, not just Home or the dark entity watching the characters and taking out anyone who doesn't meet expectations, but also the audience. When it feels like every aspect of your life is being watched and judged, you may try to bury your issues only for them to go from bad to worse.
I think when Poppy says "Open the door!" What do you want? The door is open." Remember how it is stated in Poppy's bio that her puppet usually has the other neighbors get and do things for her and how she's never seen outside of her barn? She is scared of leaving her barn at all, and the fear is so strong she is basically a shut in.
I believe she is telling whoever it is that is knocking from the outside of the barn that they can come in. When she says "the door is open", she means its unlocked and that they can walk in if they want. Since she is too afraid to leave her barn, she is paranoid of going to the door to open it herself, since she's deathly afraid of the outside world and all the supposed dangers that might be waiting for her outside of her home/sanctuary.
She is more afraid of exiting her house than she is of having intruders break in, so I believe she has a very extreme case of agoraphobia, to the point where she would rather an intruder come in, which she doesnt seem to realize would be more likely to kill her in her circumstance.
And perhaps(and this is just a theory) she had someone come to her door before asking for her help and because she was afraid to even open the door, she unknowingly let the person die, and so the heavy breathing and knocking we're hearing is that entity haunting her.
I'm glad you said that, if you notice in the Halloween audio Sally thanks Poppy for letting her use her house for the party, and at the Christmas party at Wally's house everyone is waiting for Eddie except who? Exactly Poppy!

I have a theory regarding poppies dialogue toward the end of the clip. As we have seen many times in the past with this wonderful series, there is heavy references/hints towards home being abusive and possibly a cult leader or something falling under that umbrella. Using my personal experience with both of these topics as well as what I have heard from others, what poppy is saying could be mirroring how it feels in an abusive relationship (of any kind). The door is open. The door is open.The door is always open. But you can't leave. The door wont open. The thing in the way of my current theory, however, is the fact that it sounds like there is something in the house *with her.* Does it want to leave? Was poppy saying that the door was open as a way to shoo it away? What even was it? There must've been something. It wasnt wally, as its more likely with the current way the story is going that he's likely not an antagonist, but perhaps even a victim, paired of course with the fact he was outside her home after the windows were bricked up. And it was probably not home for obvious reasons... or was it? Looking at the neighborhood, and looking at all the other houses, as well as the fact that the clock tower has a face and seems to be sentient, what if all the houses were once alive similar to the manner that home is? Maybe they functioned similar to that of a mycorrhizal network, that many plants use to practically communicate with each other. However, home got greedy and wanted control, so using the 'mycorrhizal network' he sucked the life out of the other houses, and now uses them one by one as vessels to get to the other neighbors, even in the comfort of they're own homes. WHAT IF- home is not just home, but the entire neighborhood. After all, the name of the entire neighbor hood IS Home. Also, during the beginning, she seems almost scared, nervous. Not just because she wanted an excuse out of the play. Sally was originally going to have her as a role in her play, but home wanted a role. What if home (using what was previously theorized to be a corpse being used by home as a vessel) intimidated and threatened her in order to acquire the role itself? I know, it seems stupid and silly, but if home Is the monster and terrible being that many theorize it to be, then it may not be too far off. It wants to be seen. It wants to be involved, in the spotlight, watching, observing, controlling, and making sure everyone plays along just right. If it hadn't gotten a place in the seemingly silly little one-off play, it would've given It a sense of losing some form of control, even in something so little. And even after the fact, it went back to intimidate and continue threatening poppy, to put her in what it deemed her place, as lower than itself, and to make sure she would never get in its way in the near future.
Did I just write a giant paragraph for all that? Yes, yes I did. I do not regret a thing.

This might be incorrect but hear me out: in the video for the book “brick by brick”, we hear Poppy say “What do you want? The door is open!” What if “you” is us the viewer? We can see this in one of the old update from welcome home when we click on a drawing made from crayon (basically we know that those ones are from Wally) don’t ask me why, but one of the things wally said was AND I QUOTE! “What are you waiting for, to hear me again?” This could mean that poppy is facing the same thing Wally was. This could be something totally different but it makes complete sense why she said this
It seems that Home wants to be the center of attention, she attacked Eddie for not participating in the festival of worship , now Poppy probably because she would be the star of the play, because everyone was giving her more attention than Home or because she doesn't leave her nest, so she wouldn't see Home much to worship . This would explain the existence of the show and why they are trying to revive it, all with the goal of Home having more people worshiping.
I think something is gonna happen to every character home is messing with them?? Maybe
@@rad1165 Yes, Home seems to have some ability that makes the neighbors return to worhisp when they rebel or do some bad behavior, as it did with Eddie and apparently with Poppy, the strange thing is that with Poppy it was very different. Clown is playing with the ambiguity of whether Home is the cause of the evil or the mysterious creature that was mentioned in the Halloween episode.
Throughout the book we know they’re trying to recreate Edgar Allan Poe “The telltale heart” but another book is referenced in the part where they shut poppy in her barn. The story also by Edgar is the Cask of Amontillado where one of the characters is shut in to die much like poppy

Considering Julie plays the narrator that killed the dead guy who's heart was beating and haunting him, it seems Poppy's role was originally planned to be that of the dead guy(since if you think about it, he IS the obsession of the story, therefore making him the "star" I guess you could say)
If we look back at the "Jack and the Beanstalk" role Sally gives to Poppy, Poppy was going to play a beanstalk that would be chopped down by an axe
So Sally somehow unknowingly keeps giving Poppy roles where she is either dead or destined to die or be destroyed, and the neighbors unknowingly gave Poppy another "dead guy" role by bricking her up
So this update pretty much confirms Poppy is deeply paranoid and afraid of Death itself...

What's wild is that the News Update implies that the October Update is just part one of a larger Update between now and Christmas.
It seems that Home has an interest in keeping others from getting too much attention. They always go into the scene meaning well with trying to help Poppy have a part in the play instead of hiding or giving Eddie a day off but each story suddenly takes a turn, with Eddie being made to feel useless and isolated from everyone else and Poppy literally being bricked into her house and isolated. It's often Sally who instigates the situation where attention, and especially Wally's attention, is taken away from Home and she often gets everyone involved. Meanwhile Barnaby tends to instigate the sudden change, as he seemed to be the one who turned 'let's build her up' into 'let's brick up her house', which makes me think he's the character that Home controls. I think Home wants everything to stay just as it is, for none of the characters to develop or let them make breakthroughs that might make them change process of doing this it broke the other characters mentally due to how stunted their development is and pretty much consumed the neighbourhood and everything to do with the show itself just to keep everything as it should be.

I got slightly confused when I started reading the Guestbook part..like-..that part 'Someone I did not know was acting as if they were representing me' Well, Is W really an employee or perhaps someone more than just an employee? (or..I dunno..Wally's handler as Wally is a puppet, isn't he?) Wally was kinda leaving the doodles-...But do W knows that Wally can even do that? Perhaps for them, Wally is just a lifeless puppet of a long-forgotten show..So W (maybe as Wally's past handler or something) says that someone was representing HIM and not just Wally leaving messages..i dunno if anybody understood me, tee-hee, but that's my theory, i dunno if it's good or bad though.
Hii!! I totally get what you're saying!!! I was thinking the same thing myself. I feel like there's way more to this than we know and I feel like we're gonna uncover more and more as to who W is as time goes on.
I'm not sure. But from what I'm picking up, Welcome Home is an actual place people can visit in the WH universe. My evidence being, the transcript of the book where the storyteller has been heard interacting directly with the characters in the neighbourhood. Eg, Sally acknowledged the storyteller once in the audio/transcript, and the storyteller asked someone if a seat was taken so he could sit and watch the play (this part is not heard in the audio but is found in the transcript which I find interesting.)
Transcript:
STORYTELLER: As Poppy returned to… Cozy-ing up her barn, Sally stood there in silence. What would she do now?! She was speechless! Taken aback! Shocked! Appalled-
SALLY: Tch, tch- Silence, Storyteller! Homeregard, it seems there has been an opening…

Bare with me here, I’m a horrible theorist.
I feel like the person in the away from prying eyes website is a version of Wally, wether it be original, copy, or just a different version. I will only be referring to them as W though.
“Someone else was acting as if they were representing me”. It was shown to be Wally with many of the drawings and that one secret where you’d highlight everything on that empty page and it said something (forgot what, but I think one said “you won’t write back”) and the names were “Wally” and a version of it but messed up. I can’t explain it, but I think one of those versions was W trying to communicate with the other version of themself. Idk which is which, but I think it has a little traction.

I kinda feel like whatever is happening to the neighbors (mostly Eddie so far-) is that it’s mostly the anxious neighbors, kinda like Eddie with bugs but we definitely know poppy can be worrisome, they DEFINITELY caught me off guard with that one though! And I’ve seen some theories that maybe the puppeteer for poppy was stuck in the costume or something, almost if they were claustrophobic BUT YET AGAIN! Welcome home is a horror project created by party coffin/clown that follows a lost media puppet show from the 70s. While the appearance is cheery, there's a lot of stuff hidden below the surface. I have a playlist covering all the updates so far (although a lot of the videos are kinda old and not my best work now haha). Hopefully this helped!!!

Okay time to throw my theory hat in the ring (not be showing up 8 hours late) so am I a personal opinion I believe that w is maybe Wally big Ephesus on the maybe I believe it's not Wally who's doing the drawings of the guest book I believe it's home impersonating Wally which is why w says that line about someone impersonating him I don't think Wally is trying to harm us I think he knows what's going on and I think that's why he says you won't write back and that he's getting corrupt by home losing more and more control every single day and it really looks back to the Christmas update because he literally in one of the records starts to break and says I can't see and again going back to a game theory episode on welcome home there's the one page where his eyes are wide open but he says I can't see you can you see me so I don't know that is just my opinion you can have different opinions but yeah :D have a nice day!
