also in the website, every time when you go to any of the Neighbors personal pages, all the "go back"-links are rainbow colored. But when you go to Wally's page, the "go back"-link is all black.
I'd also like to add that on their descriptions they are all referred to in the past tense (i.e was, had, ect) but wally is referred to with present tense (is, has, ect)
Personally I feel, and strongly hope, that Wally is NOT the villain. The House maybe, but not Wally. That Wally is alive, he is trapped, and he is trying to protect visitors, and save his friends, makes the most sense to me. Perhaps escape... Yet, I also get the impression Wally has maybe been alone for quite some time, leaving the question of how intact his sanity is. Yet I do feel he is trying to save everyone. I get the strong sense of someone trying to get back his friends, and the neighborhood, that he loves and using the restoration team to do this, using even us. Even if it hurts. That he wants his friends back, he wants to be free. Yet he is scared, perhaps even desperate. I feel empathy for what is a fictional character of an ARG puppet horror project.
That does make sense! Maybe he did kill the others (as is implied in some art the creator has made) as a way of sparring them whatever horror/loneliness is within the neighbourhood/home?
My running theory is that Wally is the one who jump started the restoration process. Something happened (producers and likely scrapping of the show/ink spilling all over the puppets and videos hence the black sludge vortex behind the house) and all the other puppets apart from Wally were destroyed. Wally cannot stop smiling, even he might want to (the drawing of him telling Frank it’s hard for him to smile, while he looks annoyed but still smiling) as all his friends are lost and he is trapped by Home (the creator). He is trying to save his friends (and us) from Home, but he cannot do much more than his drawings and best attempts to resummon his friends

There is a picture of Wally that suggests that Wally MADE Barnaby as the picture says “I made a Dog” with giant Barnaby behind him. Why would he try to kill Barnaby if he made him in the first place and thinks of him as his best friends? He is reading the newspaper with Barnaby’s presumably missing poster and his couch has a scrap of fabric that looks like Barnaby’S furr, and yet I don’t think he did the crime. We also see him Carrying Eddie who appears hurt. In the picture of Julie and the creepy hammer dripping blank inky substance he is a flower, a distraught pansy to be precise. The name of pansy comes from the French word pensée (thought). So since ancient times, this flower was a symbol of remembrance. In August, when pansy begins to decay and wilt, it leans towards the front and resembles a small person who is deeply contemplating his/her life. This may be another explanation of why pansies got the name of ‘thought’. Another pansy meaning is linked to their beautiful and vivid colors and symbolizes nostalgia. When we miss someone very much or we lose a beloved person, pansies express our sadness. Pansy is a symbol of two faithful lovers who are separated either by distance or another reason. So, in the language of flowers, the pansy meaning is a forbidden love. Now, ppl assume he is to blame for these since he is smiling on most of them, but we know Wally cannot not smile and the only way we can sorta discern his emotions (especially since he has no eyebrows) is to only rely on his eyes. There is another picture I want to point to, the disco picture. Behind Wally there are 2 men. Possibly the creators or the puppeteers. Oh! And the way I think the restoration project started is by Wally “carrying” out Eddie(‘s duties) and sending the letters himself, hence why they are covered in ink and paint. He was shoving these in the envelopes, desperate to get his friends back

Also I think that WaLLy (last page of guestbook) is actually Home and Wally has been so alone for so long, probably abused (the disco picture) and forced to watch his friends suffer while he cannot comprehend certain things (we can see that he doesn’t know what bees are, how to kiss, etc) so he sometimes goes about his love the wrong way. Oh! And a thing I noticed while creating my oc: all characters have their arms in the air, and everyone but Wally is looking at the hand that is “free”.

Involving how everyone has their arms in the arm but Wally is looking at the hand that is free... That is an interesting detail. As well that it could be The House in the Guest Book.
My theory is that the spiral under Home must be the way HE’s sending to people, notice that the team says that most of the letters and stuff they got was covered in paint. Maybe some how, the creator of welcome home opened up some sort of portal to HOME, or something of that nature and Wally knows and is trying to find his friends or get whoever took them to bring them back. As for the connection between him. And home I think the song he’s singing is in a very sad tone as if he’s remembering Barnaby fondle and with no one to talk to house is the only thing that seems to make him remember, my personal belief that the picture we get of him “worshipping” home might actually be him begging for it to open the spiral. But that’s just a theory….an arg theory.

I feel like this is heavily themed like Stranger Things with the Upside down given the common theory that there may be 2 wallys. I just find it interesting because Clown scrapped the idea of a cult but still uses the baphomet phrase a lot. Or it could be a coraline thing where rhe spiral leads into our world and they are puppets rather then cartoons in their world. I love theory crafting this but i cannot wait to recieve new info from clown

Someone pointed out that the rock Wally is sitting on on the home page might actually BE Barnaby. There’s a handprint next to Wally’s leg that exactly matches Barnaby’s coloured fingertips/paw pads, especially the heart shape in the centre. You can even see parts of an arm connecting to it to its right (where the tic tac toe game has been drawn). Plus, Barnaby’s eyelids are orange, which matches the orange eye between Wally’s feet.
I love this explanation! Thank you for making it! There was something else with the eyes that I’m not sure if many noticed, in all the character descriptions everyone else’s picture is looking away, but Wally’s is the only one looking directly at you.
My theory about who sends the letters is that its actually Eddie sending them. Like he is a mailman and in the FAQ where they explain how they get the different merchandise they say that they receive them in colorful envelopes, similar to the many art in the gallery where Eddie is holding colorful envelopes. Another reason I had was that in Eddie's description it said that he doesn't remember where he came from and he usually just shrugs it off saying he delivered something to somewhere else but cant remember it. I think it was Eddie delivery the envelopes and merchandise to the restoration team before the end of the shows run. It could explain why once they get the letters they're all so dirty and grime looking before opening. It could also probably explain why he doesn't remember delivering there because our reality is something he can't fully concept the only person who has a full concept and grasp about our reality is Wally. However this has holes like why would he delivery merchandise to a project team that wasnt made then? If he was able to deliver letters to the team even before the show was put off then surely theres some return address, so how come Wally said he cant reach them? And if the letters that were successfully sent to the restoration team how come when opening the letter they (they meaning that one piece of Julie and her sisters) had paint splatters and scribbles on the picture specifically and not the envelope itsself? But yeah- thats my theory on who's been sending the letters.
Someone found a cool detail about all the character descriptions in the neighborhood, everybody BUT Wally and home uses past tense in their desc, most of it had "was" or "had" while Wally and home had present tense aka "is."
There’s a few details I find to be pretty interesting: • There’s a found illustration of a book where Wally says it’s impossible for him to frown, but the rest of his expression seems distressed. However, the other puppets are shown making varied expressions even in outside media. Is there a reason for this? • We’ve seen two instances of TV static- once with the video of the tv where you can somewhat see Wally’s eyes in the reflection, and once again when Wally sings to Home. Maybe the TV is some sort of gateway, either to the house or possibly even to the outside world?
I’m so happy to see WH getting attention! But goodness I’m stressed over Clown’s sanity ;; being rocketed to the moon (popularity wise) so suddenly can’t feel entirely good. I hope they don’t let the pressure get to them too much!
Someone searched wally’s name and a phrase from disco (70’s-80’s) era appeared. “Wally wally, blood and dolly” and it’s a slang for ‘being so crazy for someone that you don’t see their faults and shortcomings’..that does describe wally and his relationship with ‘home’.
The way I spent a good 3 1/2 hours discovering everything I could about this game and came here to find I’d already found everything on my own…I’m a lil obsessed 😅
the background side panels have eyes in them too, the restored image of julie has writing suggesting that it is her and her sisters/family. id love to see more people going into the text in the distorted image of julie and her family
Either Wally was always in charge and they feared him OR Wally was never in charge and was B type character so he made himself the best of the show. Because in the game supposedly no one remembers anything and we are piecing it together…even the happy go lucky characters have some faults of their own..almost like they aren’t all there as well.
For those wondering why wally was saying “then be quiet”is bc apparently the house he lives in is haunted and I think the house took him over and I have seen creepy photots of him a lot

I genuinely believe home is the thing causing all of this-- Home is in the background of art staring at Wally, its eyes constantly follow you when you have your cursor around, and the art shown of Wally ad the eyeball, it looks more like he's trying to get out, evident with the red paint coming from his fingers. Home is keeping him trapped inside so that he can't bring to light what he knows.
I noticed that when wally was typing in the hidden code where you can see his eyes at the last sentence “then stay quiet” he typed faster it’s interesting
12:01 the script here appears normal but when you really look into it, the subject "Help" could not just be the subject of the episode, but Wally actually calling for help (if we consider the theory that Wally is a victim). Wally's line at the end, too, may be a call for help. "Neighbor, when you have a problem, what do you do?"
I have a feeling that it's going to turn out to be the residents of home who are sending all of the evidence of the show as a cry for help as it was mentioned that they were received in colourful envelopes and Eddie is pictured with colourful envelopes and the original picture was destroyed with paint and wally is a painter with could suggest that he is trying to stop them from reaching out for help by destroying all the evidence of the show
Idk if anyone said this yet, but I wanted to point out that if you look very closely at the website's colorful and floral art borders, you can see eyes in the crevices behind the objects. They're easy to miss but they're there, staring back at you hidden in plain sight.
Honestly it’d be fascinating to see an analysis of /why/ puppet horror like this is so effective, and why the horror of it seems to dig deeper into your head the more seriously people take it as a show. It’s one of the rare instances where the more you see benign “playing along” fanart of the show on twitter/tumblr/etc. the more horrifying it is, because the more people spread the show, the more powerful it becomes. Clown, in essence, tapped into the fear of the viral. The fear of how we, in online culture, can’t /help/ but comment on, make fanart of, and talk about something if it catches our eye, and Welcome Home is the /perfect/ source material. It’s a genuinely interesting looking show in its own right, but it also taps into nostalgia (which people love talking about), and it has a cause to rally around, which feeds on people’s altruistic natures to archive forgotten media. BUT! Another angle of how the horror of Welcome Home gets in your head is, in an online culture that focuses on critical media consumption (not “critical” in terms of being mean, but “critical” in terms of being an active, critically-thinking viewer) we understand that there are certain older pieces of media that contain stories, stereotypes, and messages that hid propagandistic or harmful beliefs. In that way, we understand that certain types of media just aren’t meant to be seen by the general public without the education to avoid being “corrupted”. Long rambling short, Welcome Home probably also explores the horror of “anti-censorship”, this idea that even if a piece of media is genuinely harmful to the general public, if people decide they want to spread it and make it viral, there’s little we can do to stop it. Once you’ve seen Wally, he sees you. And once he sees you, he sees the outside. Once he sees the outside, he wants /out/.
I know, super super long comment, but the “why” is genuinely fascinating to me, and so far every video I’ve seen in Welcome Home is just explaining the “what”, not speculating on the sociological or psychological “why”.
this also could tap into the reason why this show disappeared so suddenly. It seems like the creators themselves were trying to erase its existence as much as possible (the vandalised documents would hint at that), as if they found something in the show that was best left behind.
My theory is that Home is controlling Wally and Wally is trying to be “free” so to speak or wants help, I guess that’s why he’s communicating with the people that visit the website, he’s trying to find he’s friends
All of wallys art on the page has a theme of eyes and staring, it was also confirmed that since wally is a puppet he eats by staring at things, remember he is always staring at you in the art It's a threat

Ok I think the art about "killing" is not about Wally killing Barnaby, at least straight up: - Some descriptions do highlight the similarity between Wally and Barnaby, "such as color palettes, hearts on the sole's of their feet, and similarly designed outfits". A series of art pieces feature Wally painting Barnaby's paws. - Another series of art pieces has Eddie doing a braided pattern with strings that looks like a DNA strand. - The description for merch notes "there are patterns to make your own Barnaby". - That one artwork has Wally saying "look I made a dog" So my theory is that Wally either made Barnaby from the ground-up or "reconstructed" him. Either way is not gonna be very scientifically ethical. Maybe the reason he was sending those letters is so he can "restore" the series and bring all his friends to life? I feel like the plot could go in two directions: 1) Wally is trapped on some purgatory dimension of obscurity and he wants to influence the Restoration Team onto a dark and complex ritual to not only escape but also have his friends along. House might be trying to stop him by keeping him "trapped" 2) Similar, except Welcome Home was never a real show and Wally/House are independent entities. All the mockups were created by Wally's art skills (supported by that photo of a bookpage with his hand on frame) so he can have company by making them "real".
While I was on the website, I went to highlight anything that might be hidden. I did. I can't remember what page it was on (maybe About Us) but instead of the text saying "Remember to love our fellow neighbor." It read, when highlighted, "Remember to love Your fellow neighbor." Idk what it means but I thought it was cool! UPDATE!: While looking at one of he official arts of Wally ,the one where he is on the phone with blocks above him, I've noticed that in a specific order that it says "Help Wally!" This might help with the theory that Wally is trapped by Home.
So, random thoughts 1. The first hidden code- a lot of the puppets are said to be both hand and worn as suits by people. Is this the puppet communicating to the wearer (“I can’t see you, can you see me?” 2. The T.V, I SWEAR you can see some words appear in pure white, scrolling up (with the exception of one which floats in the middle periodically) but I’m unable to pause it to see it, it’s only visible because of the movement. But maybe I’m just forcing myself to see somewhere where there isn’t. I think Wally is both a victim and an antagonist. Home seems to have him trapped (judging by the picture you get when you click under home called Down Under) but Wally also seems to be… willing to do some not great things. Don’t know if it’s house forcing those actions, him doing it out of his own free will, or a a bit of both.
The eye thing is probably like showing how no matter what is happening the puppets are always being watched by the kids, adults, and the creators. It’s probably like the only puppet that knows about being watched is like Wally, and he’s the only one that sees it
I think it's related to the texts"but it hurts" and "it hurts?" It refers to a hand, inside the puppets, because they are almost like living beings they are supposed to
no i definitely think its true that only wally and house are currently "alive". i think on page 6 (?) of the guestbook someone left a comment about leaving snacks for the other neighbors (like emoji food or whtv) and the scribble that wally left on top of it says "i can't reach them i'm sorry"
My theory at the moment is that when the show was being broadcasted, the workers hired slowly dwindled down, until it was just the creator. But something akin to fnaf happened. Only this time the creator didn't want his creations to go to waste. He found a way to bring the puppets to life for real, and to possess the one called "Home". He was forcing the puppets to stay, even going as far as making up memories for them. (With Eddie not knowing his hometown, and Frank not knowing anything about his past) He traps Wally and controls him, using his need for perfection and kind smile to convince the others that they want to stay. As shown on the website, "Home" is trying to do the same for you. "You will see as we do, neighbor." and "Wally is happy to lend a helping hand. But you knew that already, didn’t you?” trying to convince us that we are already apart of the neighborhood and are familiar with them. In a last-ditch effort to save his friends, Wally used his attributes to kill the "Neighbors" trying to save them. And is trying to save you too, as he communicates with you secretly, trying not to get scrapped by his creator.
Some things we missed are when Wally's staring at the screen and asking if you can see him, if you take a screen shot and teun the brightness up it shows his full face staring at u. Also when Wally's singing he's talking to his house, his house speaks in knocks and Morse code.
I don’t usually comment, but I got to thinking when Wally sings “Beautiful dreamer,” home answers his question of if his singing was enjoyable to which we then hear three knocks. I know three knocks symbolize a demonic spirit trying to mimic the holy trio (Father, son, and Holy Ghost) and it could be the clue to it being a sort of threat to Wally?? As if the home is letting him know the demonic power is still present after his song?Dunno. My second guess here regarding the three knocks is that it could be some type of Morse code? Tap code? Again, dunno. I just think there’s gotta be a reason why there were three knocks or taps instead of one or five yknow? Intriguing…
I haven’t notice a lot of people mention one of the pictures in the gallery of the website has Wally peering out of the dark from a window on the side of the house with text underneath saying “there he is!” I just feel like it connects.
Great video! I recently got into Welcome Home and from what has been released on the site I absolutely love it! I'm interested to see what might be revealed next, the story and the lore around it is really interesting I find
....When i heard the singing, I noticed his tone. It's hushed and calm...like a parent trying to put a child to bed. There's fear as well, along with sadness.....maybe the house is like a really demented version of Casita from Encanto, and it's trying to lock everybody in..?
My first thought over the whole deal is about how the characters depend on the show or whatever being in the minds of people to survive, kinda like how you exist as long as someone knows about you, so they are somehow more alive than your regular puppet and refuse to be trapped or fully dead due to whatever happened amongst the creators and more that made the content stop and dissappear pretty much
I definitely get the sense that Wally is lonely. A message on the guest book is along the lines of "I left you a cookie" and wally left an image titled "i couldnt find it", it really made me sad ngl.
Awwwww Wally singing is so sad and charming, it must have been very lonely for him, I feel he's pain, and also these stories about him gettin controlled by home reminds me of that one of my favorite undertale fan made series called "underverse" cuz their creator also loves to torture their creations and yeahhhh
i can’t tell if this is just a color thing or not but something i’ve notice is there’s is a suspicious lack of the color purple outside of shading the only puppets i’ve notice to have purple on their character is eddie dear (his eyelids) and MAYBE sally (possibly one or two of the squares on her sweater) which i find interesting because eddie and sally both are the only neighbors as of yet to have been explicitly stated to have originated Outside of the neighborhood home!!!
Something I am excited to see the website possibly expand on is the ability to paint Baranby's paw and maybe reveal a message along with Franks's head being able to spin it and Eddie's watch which we might soon be able to 'scratch.' I might be grasping at straws but I noticed that Baranbys paw is a heart and there are a lot of hearts scattered throughout as well as repeating concepts like the ones I mentioned in the section with the restored images.
(12:30) Something I noticed, I tried to move the gifs into a new tab to see if it had hidden messages like the message board, but instead, when I moved the eyes gif, I returned to the eye house tab to see only Wally’s eyes remained…
There’s something about the 10:51 clip that I’ve noticed. I personally believe that the eyes don’t belong to Wally, all throughout the website and all illustrations of Wally, his eyes are never drawn the way they’re being shown. In the clip, the inside corner’s of the eyes are more pointing downwards, whereas in every other drawing or picture of Wally darling, the inside corners are more tilted up. (Also I think they’re shown drawn like this during the tv static clip, when the eyes flash for a spilt second) I feel like it’s a small, keen detail to throw people off, or to just confuse and generate false theory’s, but the eyes tilted down cause this more serious and sinister emotion to emit off of it. Just my thoughts but take it you want it :)) !!
Wally and House really remind me of that lemon demon song, The Only House That’s not on Fire Yet.. idk if that’s too specific but I get the feeling that neither Wally or Home are necessarily villains. Obviously, the neighborhood and all of Wallys friends have disappeared. I think it’s possible that as a sentient house, Home sort of protected Wally - for better or for worse. Yeah, that would mean Wally is safe, but he’s still alone with all of his friends gone, and has possibly been alone for so long that he’s lost his mind. He’s trapped and kept alive/sentient(?), but the house isn’t doing this out of malice. It’s protecting him from whatever has happened to the rest of the neighborhood. The picture of Wally ‘worshipping’ the house doesn’t really look like that to me. It looks like he’s INSIDE the house looking out the window and possibly trying to get out. I also think that Wally’s existing link to the outside world through having been the only member of the cast to speak directly to the audience while the show was running explains why he is more aware of his situation and was possibly aware long before his little neighborhood fully deteriorated. In the clip of Wally singing, it sounds like he’s trying to comfort himself. He’s remembering what he can of a song taught to him by a long gone friend. And he still talks to Home, so I don’t think he resents it or views it as a villain. Additionally, him not being sure what home’s response means could suggest that Home used to speak through more cartoony onomatopoeia instead of like realistic house sounds? Maybe Wally used to be able to understand home but through whatever corruption of the neighborhood has happened, he can’t really anymore. While I really don’t think Wally is a villain, he COULD still be a threat. I think he’s desperate to get his friends back however he can and be seen by us. He could have made contact with the restoration team knowing they’d be negatively affected because he wanted a way to communicate with the outside world. He may not mean anyone harm, but I do think he’ll do whatever it takes to not be alone anymore. Then again, I could be wrong about literally all of this.
The thing in the Lemon Demon song does seem vaguely malicious, so maybe not the best comparison. I think y’all can still see what I mean though. Also, if I’m right and Wally really used to be able to understand Home and can’t anymore, that’s a whole other layer of sadness. That would mean that he can’t even understand his only remaining friend and maybe can’t even understand why he’s being kept inside :( AGAIN I could be completely wrong and maybe I’m just making myself sad for a character I have severely misinterpreted lol

When I first started getting into the whole welcome home scenario, for some reason I was given the vibe of loop smp(which is a place in where it keeps repeating and only one person remembers what happened). And the other vibe is the egg from the dream smp, which fed on flesh and beings. I’m not for sure but I feel like Wally and Home are working together, with each time getting the other characters, doing something to them, and going to the point where Wally just resets everything and repeats. I suppose that’s the reason why he’s reaching out, I assume he wants it to stop Who knows, this is what I think for now 🤷♀️
Update! Something came to my mind. But now I feel that Welcome Home is more around the cult and stuff. Like think about it, “so below” is from a phrase, “as above, so below”.(I was reminded of this when watching another theorist). Or something like that. Referring to religion or somewhere around the lines of that. And then there is APPLES. Wally’s fav snack. Isn’t it weird that there is a theory that the apple fruit was the one in Adam and Eves story? Just a thought.
I think it possibly could be the creator themselves trapped because that one message where (unknown person) mentions that Wally is pretty or is their favourite character Wally or what I think is Wally replies “I think i’m pretty too” or something along the lines of that. If not I believe that the creator has trapped one of the workers or all of them in the show as they try get out and he could be using the power of house to prevent that.
I just realized it's only Wally responding to these guestbook messages, even the ones not addressed to him. Which would entail that Wally is either the only one sentient, or the only one able to reach the method of contact.
Wally is basically a combination of muppet Mr.Rogers and muppet Bob Ross. Except if they were evil...maybe??? (I mostly get a lot of Mr.Rodger’s neighborhood vibes from this ARG though)
So I checked the eyes gif link, viewed the gif and 'open' image in new tabs, exited those tabs only to find the gif stop playing and a pair of staring eyes...they definitely knew that I was snooping around.
Im not sure if anyone has noticed this but Neighborhood wasn't capitalized unlike all of the other titles, what this implies I have no idea, just an interesting tidbit
I'm just gonna put things that come to mind as I'm writing bc adhd with absent seizures make me lose track of everything Hot take here, but something tells me Home is the "evil guy" in a sense. The title says it, "Welcome HOME". Him being the only neighbor who doesn't talk, yet is seen everywhere, but constantly overshadowed by Wally in a sense, when I saw the picture of wally worshipping HOME, it clicked. I feel like they're the one in control here, the bigger puppeteer, no pun intended, and the way he communicates is the exact same way as some spirits communicate when possessing a house. Wally in and of itself doesn't seem evil, judging by how he interacted with the public notes left by people, since he seemed oddly calm and friendly, genuinely sad about not being able to reach out to the other neighbors. However, i feel like something's controlling him or there's a doppelganger version, one that's the "genuine", and the other who ended up killing everyone else represented by the baphomet pose in one of Wally's art in the creators page. Again, him being connected to home somehow leads me to believe it. The envelope thing, we all remember Howdy is the one who deals with envelopes, he's a mailman. This is only a vague connection, but you can see in the creator's page, there's one illustration of howdy with, you guessed it, a red envelope. Interesting. I think the whole thing about "we're a researcher team that casually stumbled across these things and we love it so we're gonna find more" is a facade. They... Didn't seem to answer at all how they got involved. No information of them whatsoever. Only thing is those envelopes. It's too vague it's odd. The fact that they sometimes "break character", subtly with the news info and so on, the vibes are off, unlike the hidden phrases which are, again, hidden, not meant to be seen. Big difference, yes there's someone tampering with it and they now it hence the "please ignore anything odd you see", but they're also not entirely innocent. There's one specific note left on the public messages that basically screams "please get me the fuck out of here please help me", with no name of who left it, in very tiny little letters, if we were seeing it from the wally being stuck somehow inside the webpage tampering with everything, this would make sense. Overall, I'm aware that this is barely midway through the prologue which means there's still a shit ton of stuff that's to come, but this is just the blueprint of my thoughts. TL;DR of this, HOME is either with an entity, HOME is the entity, there's either a doppelganger version of Wally or it's him being controlled, and Wally's trying to escape somehow. Let's see if my thoughts are on track or if I'm just tripping lmfao
(I haven’t started the video yet) I have noticed something… in the “about us” page, there are hidden messages and cries for help. Although they are hidden under at least three paragraphs. One was located in “how many episodes of Welcome Home are there?” One is after “it means it is inside of you too, then.” And the last one that I have seen by far is after “we are thankful to be the first to start this journey!” These messages are hidden and you should copy and paste them into your memo or something to find them…
Idk if you mentioned this or not, but at the bottom of the Playfellow Exhibition page, there are some spinning coloured records. They’re all spinning in sync, except for the orange and blue disks. They’re spinning oddly. Those colours represent Sally and Barnaby. (I swear I saw them, but the third time I checked they were spinning normally again. Maybe it’s a secret?)
I really needed this video because I started the journey of this website late and when Clown updates the website, past edits are removed. Also, I missed some of these things!!
In the page titled "answer", The audio, if you attempt to clean it a bit, has some vocals from Wally(?) I'm unable to be certain, but he does say, at some point, "I know you're there." You can even hear him if you really, REALLY pay attention to the audio here. The unnatural sound seem like they could be.. code? There is a part at the very end that could be text when viewed in a spectrograph, too.
I think Wally could be some kind of demon, in the neighborhood page when you get to see each neighbor for Wally instead of a “go back” written at the bottom of the page theres a “goodbye” that could tie in how when using a ouija board you have to say goodbye to the demon you summoned or something like that hope i explined it well enough
something i found on my own is while looking at wally's house i was zooming in and the more it zooms in the black shadows coming from under the door disappear.

Personally I feel, and strongly hope, that Wally is NOT the villain. The House maybe, but not Wally. That Wally is alive, he is trapped, and he is trying to protect visitors, and save his friends, makes the most sense to me. Perhaps escape... Yet, I also get the impression Wally has maybe been alone for quite some time, leaving the question of how intact his sanity is. Yet I do feel he is trying to save everyone. I get the strong sense of someone trying to get back his friends, and the neighborhood, that he loves and using the restoration team to do this, using even us. Even if it hurts. That he wants his friends back, he wants to be free. Yet he is scared, perhaps even desperate. I feel empathy for what is a fictional character of an ARG puppet horror project.

My running theory is that Wally is the one who jump started the restoration process. Something happened (producers and likely scrapping of the show/ink spilling all over the puppets and videos hence the black sludge vortex behind the house) and all the other puppets apart from Wally were destroyed. Wally cannot stop smiling, even he might want to (the drawing of him telling Frank it’s hard for him to smile, while he looks annoyed but still smiling) as all his friends are lost and he is trapped by Home (the creator). He is trying to save his friends (and us) from Home, but he cannot do much more than his drawings and best attempts to resummon his friends

There is a picture of Wally that suggests that Wally MADE Barnaby as the picture says “I made a Dog” with giant Barnaby behind him. Why would he try to kill Barnaby if he made him in the first place and thinks of him as his best friends? He is reading the newspaper with Barnaby’s presumably missing poster and his couch has a scrap of fabric that looks like Barnaby’S furr, and yet I don’t think he did the crime. We also see him Carrying Eddie who appears hurt. In the picture of Julie and the creepy hammer dripping blank inky substance he is a flower, a distraught pansy to be precise.

Now, ppl assume he is to blame for these since he is smiling on most of them, but we know Wally cannot not smile and the only way we can sorta discern his emotions (especially since he has no eyebrows) is to only rely on his eyes. There is another picture I want to point to, the disco picture. Behind Wally there are 2 men. Possibly the creators or the puppeteers. Oh! And the way I think the restoration project started is by Wally “carrying” out Eddie(‘s duties) and sending the letters himself, hence why they are covered in ink and paint. Also I think that WaLLy (last page of guestbook) is actually Home and Wally has been so alone for so long, probably abused (the disco picture) and forced to watch his friends suffer while he cannot comprehend certain things (we can see that he doesn’t know what bees are, how to kiss, etc) so he sometimes goes about his love the wrong way. Oh! And a thing I noticed while creating my oc: all characters have their arms in the air, and everyone but Wally is looking at the hand that is “free”.

My theory is that the spiral under Home must be the way HE’s sending to people, notice that the team says that most of the letters and stuff they got was covered in paint. Maybe some how, the creator of welcome home opened up some sort of portal to HOME, or something of that nature and Wally knows and is trying to find his friends or get whoever took them to bring them back. As for the connection between him. And home I think the song he’s singing is in a very sad tone as if he’s remembering Barnaby fondle and with no one to talk to house is the only thing that seems to make him remember, my personal belief that the picture we get of him “worshipping” home might actually be him begging for it to open the spiral. But that’s just a theory….an arg theory.

I feel like this is heavily themed like Stranger Things with the Upside down given the common theory that there may be 2 wallys. I just find it interesting because Clown scrapped the idea of a cult but still uses the baphomet phrase a lot. Or it could be a coraline thing where rhe spiral leads into our world and they are puppets rather then cartoons in their world. Someone pointed out that the rock Wally is sitting on on the home page might actually BE Barnaby.
There’s a handprint next to Wally’s leg that exactly matches Barnaby’s coloured fingertips/paw pads, especially the heart shape in the centre. You can even see parts of an arm connecting to it to its right (where the tic tac toe game has been drawn).
Plus, Barnaby’s eyelids are orange, which matches the orange eye between Wally’s feet.

My theory about who sends the letters is that its actually Eddie sending them. Like he is a mailman and in the FAQ where they explain how they get the different merchandise they say that they receive them in colorful envelopes, similar to the many art in the gallery where Eddie is holding colorful envelopes. Another reason I had was that in Eddie's description it said that he doesn't remember where he came from and he usually just shrugs it off saying he delivered something to somewhere else but cant remember it.
I think it was Eddie delivery the envelopes and merchandise to the restoration team before the end of the shows run. It could explain why once they get the letters they're all so dirty and grime looking before opening. It could also probably explain why he doesn't remember delivering there because our reality is something he can't fully concept the only person who has a full concept and grasp about our reality is Wally.
However this has holes like why would he delivery merchandise to a project team that wasnt made then? If he was able to deliver letters to the team even before the show was put off then surely theres some return address, so how come Wally said he cant reach them? And if the letters that were successfully sent to the restoration team how come when opening the letter they (they meaning that one piece of Julie and her sisters) had paint splatters and scribbles on the picture specifically and not the envelope itsself?
But yeah- thats my theory on who's been sending the letters.

There’s a few details I find to be pretty interesting:
• There’s a found illustration of a book where Wally says it’s impossible for him to frown, but the rest of his expression seems distressed. However, the other puppets are shown making varied expressions even in outside media. Is there a reason for this?
• We’ve seen two instances of TV static- once with the video of the tv where you can somewhat see Wally’s eyes in the reflection, and once again when Wally sings to Home. Maybe the TV is some sort of gateway, either to the house or possibly even to the outside world?
I’m so happy to see WH getting attention! But goodness I’m stressed over Clown’s sanity ;; being rocketed to the moon (popularity wise) so suddenly can’t feel entirely good. I hope they don’t let the pressure get to them too much!

Someone searched wally’s name and a phrase from disco (70’s-80’s) era appeared. “Wally wally, blood and dolly” and it’s a slang for ‘being so crazy for someone that you don’t see their faults and shortcomings’..that does describe wally and his relationship with ‘home’.
The way I spent a good 3 1/2 hours discovering everything I could about this game and came here to find I’d already found everything on my own…I’m a lil obsessed 😅

Either Wally was always in charge and they feared him OR Wally was never in charge and was B type character so he made himself the best of the show. Because in the game supposedly no one remembers anything and we are piecing it together…even the happy go lucky characters have some faults of their own..almost like they aren’t all there as well.

I genuinely believe home is the thing causing all of this-- Home is in the background of art staring at Wally, its eyes constantly follow you when you have your cursor around, and the art shown of Wally ad the eyeball, it looks more like he's trying to get out, evident with the red paint coming from his fingers. Home is keeping him trapped inside so that he can't bring to light what he knows.

Honestly it’d be fascinating to see an analysis of /why/ puppet horror like this is so effective, and why the horror of it seems to dig deeper into your head the more seriously people take it as a show. It’s one of the rare instances where the more you see benign “playing along” fanart of the show on twitter/tumblr/etc. the more horrifying it is, because the more people spread the show, the more powerful it becomes. Clown, in essence, tapped into the fear of the viral. The fear of how we, in online culture, can’t /help/ but comment on, make fanart of, and talk about something if it catches our eye, and Welcome Home is the /perfect/ source material. It’s a genuinely interesting looking show in its own right, but it also taps into nostalgia (which people love talking about), and it has a cause to rally around, which feeds on people’s altruistic natures to archive forgotten media.
BUT! Another angle of how the horror of Welcome Home gets in your head is, in an online culture that focuses on critical media consumption (not “critical” in terms of being mean, but “critical” in terms of being an active, critically-thinking viewer) we understand that there are certain older pieces of media that contain stories, stereotypes, and messages that hid propagandistic or harmful beliefs. In that way, we understand that certain types of media just aren’t meant to be seen by the general public without the education to avoid being “corrupted”. Long rambling short, Welcome Home probably also explores the horror of “anti-censorship”, this idea that even if a piece of media is genuinely harmful to the general public, if people decide they want to spread it and make it viral, there’s little we can do to stop it. Once you’ve seen Wally, he sees you. And once he sees you, he sees the outside. Once he sees the outside, he wants /out/.
I know, super super long comment, but the “why” is genuinely fascinating to me, and so far every video I’ve seen in Welcome Home is just explaining the “what”, not speculating on the sociological or psychological “why”.
this also could tap into the reason why this show disappeared so suddenly. It seems like the creators themselves were trying to erase its existence as much as possible (the vandalised documents would hint at that), as if they found something in the show that was best left behind.
My theory is that Home is controlling Wally and Wally is trying to be “free” so to speak or wants help, I guess that’s why he’s communicating with the people that visit the website, he’s trying to find he’s friends

Please tell me I’m not the only one to have noticed that almost every character in Welcome Home have some sort of connection with or past the woods that surround our little neighborhood?
Ok I think the art about "killing" is not about Wally killing Barnaby, at least straight up:
- Some descriptions do highlight the similarity between Wally and Barnaby, "such as color palettes, hearts on the sole's of their feet, and similarly designed outfits". A series of art pieces feature Wally painting Barnaby's paws.
- Another series of art pieces has Eddie doing a braided pattern with strings that looks like a DNA strand.
- The description for merch notes "there are patterns to make your own Barnaby".
- That one artwork has Wally saying "look I made a dog"
So my theory is that Wally either made Barnaby from the ground-up or "reconstructed" him. Either way is not gonna be very scientifically ethical. Maybe the reason he was sending those letters is so he can "restore" the series and bring all his friends to life? I feel like the plot could go in two directions:
1) Wally is trapped on some purgatory dimension of obscurity and he wants to influence the Restoration Team onto a dark and complex ritual to not only escape but also have his friends along. House might be trying to stop him by keeping him "trapped"
2) Similar, except Welcome Home was never a real show and Wally/House are independent entities. All the mockups were created by Wally's art skills (supported by that photo of a bookpage with his hand on frame) so he can have company by making them "real".
While I was on the website, I went to highlight anything that might be hidden. I did. I can't remember what page it was on (maybe About Us) but instead of the text saying "Remember to love our fellow neighbor." It read, when highlighted, "Remember to love Your fellow neighbor." Idk what it means but I thought it was cool!
UPDATE!: While looking at one of he official arts of Wally ,the one where he is on the phone with blocks above him, I've noticed that in a specific order that it says "Help Wally!" This might help with the theory that Wally is trapped by Home.

So, random thoughts
1. The first hidden code- a lot of the puppets are said to be both hand and worn as suits by people. Is this the puppet communicating to the wearer (“I can’t see you, can you see me?”
2. The T.V, I SWEAR you can see some words appear in pure white, scrolling up (with the exception of one which floats in the middle periodically) but I’m unable to pause it to see it, it’s only visible because of the movement. But maybe I’m just forcing myself to see somewhere where there isn’t.
I think Wally is both a victim and an antagonist. Home seems to have him trapped (judging by the picture you get when you click under home called Down Under) but Wally also seems to be… willing to do some not great things. Don’t know if it’s house forcing those actions, him doing it out of his own free will, or a a bit of both.
The eye thing is probably like showing how no matter what is happening the puppets are always being watched by the kids, adults, and the creators. It’s probably like the only puppet that knows about being watched is like Wally, and he’s the only one that sees it

no i definitely think its true that only wally and house are currently "alive". i think on page 6 (?) of the guestbook someone left a comment about leaving snacks for the other neighbors (like emoji food or whtv) and the scribble that wally left on top of it says "i can't reach them i'm sorry"
My theory at the moment is that when the show was being broadcasted, the workers hired slowly dwindled down, until it was just the creator. But something akin to fnaf happened. Only this time the creator didn't want his creations to go to waste. He found a way to bring the puppets to life for real, and to possess the one called "Home". He was forcing the puppets to stay, even going as far as making up memories for them. (With Eddie not knowing his hometown, and Frank not knowing anything about his past) He traps Wally and controls him, using his need for perfection and kind smile to convince the others that they want to stay. As shown on the website, "Home" is trying to do the same for you. "You will see as we do, neighbor." and "Wally is happy to lend a helping hand. But you knew that already, didn’t you?” trying to convince us that we are already apart of the neighborhood and are familiar with them. In a last-ditch effort to save his friends, Wally used his attributes to kill the "Neighbors" trying to save them. And is trying to save you too, as he communicates with you secretly, trying not to get scrapped by his creator.

Some things we missed are when Wally's staring at the screen and asking if you can see him, if you take a screen shot and teun the brightness up it shows his full face staring at u. Also when Wally's singing he's talking to his house, his house speaks in knocks and Morse code.

I don’t usually comment, but I got to thinking when Wally sings “Beautiful dreamer,” home answers his question of if his singing was enjoyable to which we then hear three knocks. I know three knocks symbolize a demonic spirit trying to mimic the holy trio (Father, son, and Holy Ghost) and it could be the clue to it being a sort of threat to Wally?? As if the home is letting him know the demonic power is still present after his song?Dunno. My second guess here regarding the three knocks is that it could be some type of Morse code? Tap code? Again, dunno. I just think there’s gotta be a reason why there were three knocks or taps instead of one or five yknow? Intriguing…

....When i heard the singing, I noticed his tone. It's hushed and calm...like a parent trying to put a child to bed. There's fear as well, along with sadness.....maybe the house is like a really demented version of Casita from Encanto, and it's trying to lock everybody in..?

My first thought over the whole deal is about how the characters depend on the show or whatever being in the minds of people to survive, kinda like how you exist as long as someone knows about you, so they are somehow more alive than your regular puppet and refuse to be trapped or fully dead due to whatever happened amongst the creators and more that made the content stop and dissappear pretty much
I love the whole aesthetic of this website- the art is so cute and colorful and I love Wally’s design so much 💕

I definitely get the sense that Wally is lonely. A message on the guest book is along the lines of "I left you a cookie" and wally left an image titled "i couldnt find it", it really made me sad ngl.

Something interesting to note- in the neighborhood tab, if you press control a, it highlights everything but Home
Wally loves art- the papers an envelops covered in paint
in "answer me" you can see wallys eyes on the screen roll back into his head, very easy to miss
Just when you thought Wally was the nightmare with you as a victim to him, it turns out he is the victim to such an surreal world.
Awwwww Wally singing is so sad and charming, it must have been very lonely for him, I feel he's pain, and also these stories about him gettin controlled by home reminds me of that one of my favorite undertale fan made series called "underverse" cuz their creator also loves to torture their creations and yeahhhh
i can’t tell if this is just a color thing or not
but something i’ve notice is there’s is a suspicious lack of the color purple outside of shading
the only puppets i’ve notice to have purple on their character is eddie dear (his eyelids) and MAYBE sally (possibly one or two of the squares on her sweater)
which i find interesting because eddie and sally both are the only neighbors as of yet to have been explicitly stated to have originated Outside of the neighborhood home!!!
Something I am excited to see the website possibly expand on is the ability to paint Baranby's paw and maybe reveal a message along with Franks's head being able to spin it and Eddie's watch which we might soon be able to 'scratch.'
I might be grasping at straws but I noticed that Baranbys paw is a heart and there are a lot of hearts scattered throughout as well as repeating concepts like the ones I mentioned in the section with the restored images.
He's just lookin at us in that one scene to borrow some hair gel, dw.
(12:30) Something I noticed, I tried to move the gifs into a new tab to see if it had hidden messages like the message board, but instead, when I moved the eyes gif, I returned to the eye house tab to see only Wally’s eyes remained…

There’s something about the 10:51 clip that I’ve noticed.
I personally believe that the eyes don’t belong to Wally, all throughout the website and all illustrations of Wally, his eyes are never drawn the way they’re being shown.
In the clip, the inside corner’s of the eyes are more pointing downwards, whereas in every other drawing or picture of Wally darling, the inside corners are more tilted up.
(Also I think they’re shown drawn like this during the tv static clip, when the eyes flash for a spilt second)
I feel like it’s a small, keen detail to throw people off, or to just confuse and generate false theory’s, but the eyes tilted down cause this more serious and sinister emotion to emit off of it.

Wally and House really remind me of that lemon demon song, The Only House That’s not on Fire Yet.. idk if that’s too specific but I get the feeling that neither Wally or Home are necessarily villains. Obviously, the neighborhood and all of Wallys friends have disappeared. I think it’s possible that as a sentient house, Home sort of protected Wally - for better or for worse. Yeah, that would mean Wally is safe, but he’s still alone with all of his friends gone, and has possibly been alone for so long that he’s lost his mind. He’s trapped and kept alive/sentient(?), but the house isn’t doing this out of malice. It’s protecting him from whatever has happened to the rest of the neighborhood. The picture of Wally ‘worshipping’ the house doesn’t really look like that to me. It looks like he’s INSIDE the house looking out the window and possibly trying to get out.
I also think that Wally’s existing link to the outside world through having been the only member of the cast to speak directly to the audience while the show was running explains why he is more aware of his situation and was possibly aware long before his little neighborhood fully deteriorated.
In the clip of Wally singing, it sounds like he’s trying to comfort himself. He’s remembering what he can of a song taught to him by a long gone friend. And he still talks to Home, so I don’t think he resents it or views it as a villain. Additionally, him not being sure what home’s response means could suggest that Home used to speak through more cartoony onomatopoeia instead of like realistic house sounds? Maybe Wally used to be able to understand home but through whatever corruption of the neighborhood has happened, he can’t really anymore.
While I really don’t think Wally is a villain, he COULD still be a threat. I think he’s desperate to get his friends back however he can and be seen by us. He could have made contact with the restoration team knowing they’d be negatively affected because he wanted a way to communicate with the outside world. He may not mean anyone harm, but I do think he’ll do whatever it takes to not be alone anymore.
Then again, I could be wrong about literally all of this.
The thing in the Lemon Demon song does seem vaguely malicious, so maybe not the best comparison. I think y’all can still see what I mean though. Also, if I’m right and Wally really used to be able to understand Home and can’t anymore, that’s a whole other layer of sadness. That would mean that he can’t even understand his only remaining friend and maybe can’t even understand why he’s being kept inside :(

When I first started getting into the whole welcome home scenario, for some reason I was given the vibe of loop smp(which is a place in where it keeps repeating and only one person remembers what happened). And the other vibe is the egg from the dream smp, which fed on flesh and beings.
I’m not for sure but I feel like Wally and Home are working together, with each time getting the other characters, doing something to them, and going to the point where Wally just resets everything and repeats. I suppose that’s the reason why he’s reaching out, I assume he wants it to stop
Who knows, this is what I think for now 🤷♀️

Something came to my mind. But now I feel that Welcome Home is more around the cult and stuff. Like think about it, “so below” is from a phrase, “as above, so below”.(I was reminded of this when watching another theorist). Or something like that. Referring to religion or somewhere around the lines of that. And then there is APPLES. Wally’s fav snack. Isn’t it weird that there is a theory that the apple fruit was the one in Adam and Eves story?

I think it possibly could be the creator themselves trapped because that one message where (unknown person) mentions that Wally is pretty or is their favourite character Wally or what I think is Wally replies “I think i’m pretty too” or something along the lines of that. If not I believe that the creator has trapped one of the workers or all of them in the show as they try get out and he could be using the power of house to prevent that.

I just realized it's only Wally responding to these guestbook messages, even the ones not addressed to him. Which would entail that Wally is either the only one sentient, or the only one able to reach the method of contact.

So I checked the eyes gif link, viewed the gif and 'open' image in new tabs, exited those tabs only to find the gif stop playing and a pair of staring eyes...they definitely knew that I was snooping around.

I'm just gonna put things that come to mind as I'm writing bc adhd with absent seizures make me lose track of everything
Hot take here, but something tells me Home is the "evil guy" in a sense. The title says it, "Welcome HOME". Him being the only neighbor who doesn't talk, yet is seen everywhere, but constantly overshadowed by Wally in a sense, when I saw the picture of wally worshipping HOME, it clicked. I feel like they're the one in control here, the bigger puppeteer, no pun intended, and the way he communicates is the exact same way as some spirits communicate when possessing a house.
Wally in and of itself doesn't seem evil, judging by how he interacted with the public notes left by people, since he seemed oddly calm and friendly, genuinely sad about not being able to reach out to the other neighbors. However, i feel like something's controlling him or there's a doppelganger version, one that's the "genuine", and the other who ended up killing everyone else represented by the baphomet pose in one of Wally's art in the creators page. Again, him being connected to home somehow leads me to believe it.
The envelope thing, we all remember Howdy is the one who deals with envelopes, he's a mailman. This is only a vague connection, but you can see in the creator's page, there's one illustration of howdy with, you guessed it, a red envelope. Interesting.
I think the whole thing about "we're a researcher team that casually stumbled across these things and we love it so we're gonna find more" is a facade. They... Didn't seem to answer at all how they got involved. No information of them whatsoever. Only thing is those envelopes. It's too vague it's odd. The fact that they sometimes "break character", subtly with the news info and so on, the vibes are off, unlike the hidden phrases which are, again, hidden, not meant to be seen. Big difference, yes there's someone tampering with it and they now it hence the "please ignore anything odd you see", but they're also not entirely innocent.
There's one specific note left on the public messages that basically screams "please get me the fuck out of here please help me", with no name of who left it, in very tiny little letters, if we were seeing it from the wally being stuck somehow inside the webpage tampering with everything, this would make sense.
Overall, I'm aware that this is barely midway through the prologue which means there's still a shit ton of stuff that's to come, but this is just the blueprint of my thoughts. TL;DR of this, HOME is either with an entity, HOME is the entity, there's either a doppelganger version of Wally or it's him being controlled, and Wally's trying to escape somehow.
Let's see if my thoughts are on track or if I'm just tripping lmfao

(I haven’t started the video yet) I have noticed something… in the “about us” page, there are hidden messages and cries for help. Although they are hidden under at least three paragraphs. One was located in “how many episodes of Welcome Home are there?”
One is after “it means it is inside of you too, then.”
And the last one that I have seen by far is after “we are thankful to be the first to start this journey!”
These messages are hidden and you should copy and paste them into your memo or something to find them…

Idk if you mentioned this or not, but at the bottom of the Playfellow Exhibition page, there are some spinning coloured records. They’re all spinning in sync, except for the orange and blue disks. They’re spinning oddly. Those colours represent Sally and Barnaby. (I swear I saw them, but the third time I checked they were spinning normally again. Maybe it’s a secret?)

I think Wally could be some kind of demon, in the neighborhood page when you get to see each neighbor for Wally instead of a “go back” written at the bottom of the page theres a “goodbye” that could tie in how when using a ouija board you have to say goodbye to the demon you summoned or something like that hope i explined it well enough
