It was quite interesting to learn that Clown is autistic and confirmed that they put some of their own traits into the Welcome Home characters. As someone who's autistic too, I immediately related to Wally spacing out and being unresponsive until someone says his name and most of the time, he just remains in the background. This happens to me quite often too. Perhaps that's why I couldn't find anything strange about Wally's behavior.
I have tiny moments where i just dont remember what i just did. Moments of just not being present. I wonder if thats what wallys going through, on some level.
Agreed, a lot of people are jumping to classic horror conclusions like, "Wally is sinister," "Wally is possessed," "Wally is traumatized." There's definitely something strange going on with the recordings, but no reason for anything to be wrong with Wally in the recordings. He's just quiet but attentive

They feel so normal that the only thing strange about it is that Home is the only living thing in the neighborhood. But if everyone already knows this, then it's not that strange.
And poppy as well, although, he seems to have a soft spot for those that he is close to, but my personal favourite would be him and Eddie, legit, these two act as if they aren't married or such, their such goobers.

Their relationship with each other is so subtle I love it. Eddie: everyone hates him except for Frank and Julie. Howdy: best friends with Barnaby and sometimes passive aggressive with others. Frank: always getting pulled into and invited by everybody for something. Barnaby: tags along with Wally and slightly irritates everybody. Wally: everybody plays nice with him and sometimes act like their surprised to see him, as if they have their guard up. Everyone else like Sally or Poppy and others interactions with each other are mostly friendly and actually enjoy each other's time.
It's odd that Wally is always there and others know for a fact he is there, but they just don't pay much attention to him, almost like a secondary character, he facilitates transitions between dialogues but we never hear those, you can even see his tiny yellow hand moving some in the frame, but that's it.
He's definitely dissociating, perhaps they've caught on to Wallys recent unresponsive and try not to bother but still make him feel included by being there

All of the videos seem to end with someone saying something to Wally, despite him not saying anything. Or the conversation sounding like it was only two people/puppets there. Also, based on just the way the videos are situated(like their POV), I'd have to guess were seeing and hearing everything from Wallys POV. Especially because in the first video you can see what looks to be wallys hands holding yarn.
I realize now that Barnaby can understand Home. So, Wally's not the only one who can talk to his house, like we thought.. I wonder if that must mean something. Also, when Barnaby stops talking to Home and talks to Wally, Wally isn't responsive. Strange.
As much as I want to believe it, the tapping does not spell out the SOS signal. SOS is … - - - … and Wally did -..- which, if communicating in morse code, would just translate to the letter X.

It would be more logical if tea is what wally is saying rather than it being x and this could mean that wally can only speak through Morse code or through home since in the last video Barnaby was speaking towards home until the end of the clip.

5:28 I just now realized what sally said. I watched this video over and over and just now it crossed my mind. When talking about food, sally worries about weight. And that is interesting, cause she is kinda say, if she eats something fatty related, she can gain weight. "I dont want to get a stitch", meaning if she does gain weight, the material she is made out of will most likely rip thus in need to repair. Very specific choice of words.

NO ONE ASKED BUT LET ME COOK A LIL BIT🗣️‼️‼️‼️ At the end, every character asked for Wally’s attention (ex: “Isn’t that right, Wally?”, “Are you okay, Wally?”) which causes the end of the video to glitch out. I’ll get to that video thing in a second. First off, Wally is DEFINITELY dissociating in these recordings. He’s so out of zone that whenever someone mentions his name after a while, his mind forces him to snap back to reality. But there’s some other stuff I noticed too: - He uses Morse Code to decipher, “Tea”, while being with Poppy and Sally. - The camera shakes near the end of Barnaby and Home’s conversation. Which NEVER happened to the other videos. - And- Wait….videos. Recordings. Glitching. Why are we seeing recordings and lenses through Wally’s perspective? Shouldn’t we see the real deal of The Neighborhood? Areas that at least aren’t covered with static noises? Unless…….. SOMEONE or SOMETHING is watching through Wally. No one else noticed his struggles BUT himself. He’s definitely being controlled/possessed by his will. - In Eddie’s Big Lift, it’s pretty much a storybook, so we don’t really see Wally struggling here. He’s VERY involved in conversations. - In the interview, Wally’s innocent and upbeat nature doesn’t show any type of fear, remorse, or controlling words. Just a silly Muppet like interview with a…interesting host. - Lastly, there’s a hidden recording that sounds like Wally is reading from a script. He asks things like “Do you see me?”, “Can you see me?”, and “Can you draw eyes?” Under his tone, it’s low and static. Alongside a heartbeat that gets rapid by the minute as he gets anxious and breathless. TLDR: Wally ISN’T the villain of the story, but the people who recovered the show project are. And what they intend to do with the puppets is BEYOND horrifying. BONUS: Personally, Home isn’t really involved with this….I think. Either Home is also a victim of possession (It’s Canon that the characters hang out and understand Home, let alone Barnaby), or it’s apart of the plan from the jump.

There's that one audio with him singing and at the end he asks Home what he thinks of it and when it answers Wally says "that's good, I think" which sounds like he's anxious or scared of Home I'm not the best at making theories or figuring out things but I mainly just go along with others theories and just happily enjoy the ride lol But your interpretation is new to me and neat

Wally seems pretty shy, not saying anything and hiding. It’s like this was his actual personality or Home having changed him in a way he’s noticed. As if Home took over whenever somebody said Wally’s name.

I love how consistent these audios are. They all seem to take place in a short period of time. Like, in the first one Howdy tells Poppy that he has an order waiting for him back at the shop. Then later we have Eddie delivery a bunch of goods to Howdy who then gives him a bunch of bowling balls for Julie. And then later on Eddie mentions that that delivery didn't go very well. Or how Barnaby tells Home everything he did: winding up Frank, teasing Juile over her sense of humor, listening to Howdy talk about his family and trying to dogpile Eddie. I just love how they are all connected in this way.
Bro i just realized when sally was ordering her food they werent giving her food, they were giving her cleaning products and wood. Sally even kinda noticed this by saying "bubble blast soap flakes" and how the brand sounded weird but disregarded it due to"marketing tatics". And when she was reviewing her order she called it "Bubble blast instant mash" without realizing it.
I stumbled across this and now I have a few questions: 1. Is Howdy some sort of con man? Because he convinced Poppy to try out some yarn wrapper and sold Sally weird inedible stuff like "bouncy yellow bread" (a sponge) and a cereal that was actually woodchips and sawdust. 2. If not, is Sally just unable to taste due to the fact she's a (literal) star? Because in the previous one where she was talking with Poppy, she didn't consider a flavour for her cake. (though admittedly, she could've just gotten sidetracked...) 3. Also smaller question, but is all the food actually fake in the world of Welcome Home? They are puppets, so they probably don't need to eat actual food... Maybe Howdy is aware of that?? 4. Possible final question, does that mean that the instant mashed potatoes were soap flakes, or were the soap flakes a different kind of 'cereal'? This was long, but feel free to discuss or correct me if I got anything wrong! 😅
About Howdy, I wouldn't would'n say that he is a con man, but he seen a bit pushy, a bit like door salesman's I think XD. He reminds me at the Addison from deltarune. About the food, I think that is what you're saying: the puppets don't really eat or not like us. So or they minds are distorted to the point that they don't distinguish between real food or false food or they simply eat different than us. Personally I think is the first one because if is normal howdy wouldn't remark the difference or that Sally believes that are real food.
Howdy could have accidentally grabbed the wrong box with one of his arms while talking to Sally, but that’s just food for thought considering we didn’t see if he was looking directly at Sally or could have just turned another direction while grabbing it. But then again I could be wrong like how I was wrong about Howdy personality asdfghjkl.

What I learned from these characters interactions: Eddie gets little to no sympathy for the work he does and is scared easily Sally gets pissed off easily if things don't go her way and is afraid of gaining weight Frank definitely despises Barnaby and Howdy Poppy may be agoraphobic Julie has the need to be validated a lot Barnaby has a bit of a cruel side to him Howdy definitely appears to be some kind of con man And what ALL these characters have in common is that they all see Wally as their comfort companion, the one person they never judge and look to him for guidance
If this is Wally's POV it seems like Waly spends time looking away from people and is left out of the conversation. I unfortunately can relate to that feeling of being "Outside" the conversation and interacting with people. Maybe the inner emotional trama and pain from this is how house is able to manipulate and control Wally

@@joannetrueman6838biggest option at this point? poppy. she seems like the type to cower when threatened and wouldn't tell others in fear of bothering them. not to mention she seems the most likely to not have anybody looking for her when she disappears. other choice may be barnaby since he's constantly stuck next to wally, or sally because she'd be easy for home to antagonize from the rest of the gang and forcing her to become isolated due to her temper.
The last one is interesting (i havent found it in the website) Barnaby seems to be implying that everyone of these scence are all in one same day (atleast barnaby's clips) plus at the end Wally was just staring at his painting and barnaby knew something was wrong, this is the one clip were something actually goes wrong that is not just the shows comedic fun
I'm relatively new to the Welcome Home fandom (just started looking into it last week) and have been checking out the story, theories, lore. I got some of the surface level stuff down and I got kind of a working theory. Not sure if this is anything new though, but here we go: Unlike the other residents of the Neighborhood, Home can not move. He is a stagnant building who can only see in one direction. He can not visit the others on his own, he can not play games, he can't even "go to Howdy's and pick out his own hotdog" (Eddie's Big Lift audio). Wally is an artist. Wally travels the Neighborhood, plays games and learns new things from the Neighbors, and when he returns to Home, he paints what he saw. Wally was Home's eyes. Over time, the paintings weren't enough anymore. Home didn't want to see paintings of the Neighbors and the Neighborhood, he wanted to experience them for himself. Home gave Wally "special ink" (Found in one of the Staff Only Documents as "weird mold growing off the art") to help. At first, Home had Wally put eyes around town that Home could see through, but they weren't enough. Then, he had Wally paint beetles that would come to life and explore the town, eating vegetables and visiting the post office (Hidden Videos), but they weren't enough. Then, Home had an idea. He asked Wally to borrow his eyes by painting them with the ink. Now wherever Wally went, so did Home. However, this would only last a short while (The Hidden Videos), and when Home took over, Wally was no longer in control. But his mind had to go somewhere, so it went Home. Wally and Home would switch bodies for a short time, like two players swapping puppets between hands. But even still, Home had limited control over Wally's body, only managing to remain stagnant. Wally saw this as helping a friend...at first. But he grew more and more uncomfortable. He would stay away from Home for longer periods of time and look for excuses not to go back (Such as in "Just So" where he, and artist, wanted to stay with Frank longer and learn about the colors again). Barnaby (either willingly or unwillingly) was sent to "fetch" Wally and bring him to Home. In one of the illustrations, it is shown that Wally painted Barnaby's paws; it could have been with the special ink before Wally truly understood what it did. Eventually, Home grew more used to Wally's body, to the point where he could steal his voice, which I believe to be the person behind many of the audio logs. And in turn, Wally became more and more confined to Home (the "So Below" image) But as all things, the world of Welcome Home was no longer enough. Now Home wants a new vessel, one from this world. And now that the show's been unearthed, he can start looking for one. But hey, that's just a theory
You know I kind of assumed we were seeing these vids through Wally's perspective (i.e. this is Wally just staring at one spot the whole time) but at 10:37 Eddie comments on how Wally is looking at Barnaby approaching, but we obviously don't see him, so maybe this is Wally secretly recording them rather than this just being his POV? Idk maybe thats reaching a bit

Funny thing, he's actually VERY smart. He's clumsy and forgetful wich is different, but he is a very clever and culture boi. I think he seems a bit simpler bc he just tries to flow with the ppl around him and even if they're not being the nicest to him, he's willing to help and be nice to them.

Wally’s lack of enthusiasm is interesting, because when you think about it at first, it sounds like there was no effort put into this character, but when you think about it more, it seems to be intentional. Especially when Wally lives in a house that is sentient, and has some kind of bond to it. It’s interesting, but it’s odd at the same time. The lore is very interesting, and seeing that we get actual footage, tells me that maybe the creator will make actual characters that we can see. Considering this is meant to be a parallel to Sesame Street, especially with the art style, I’d love to see these characters be turned into physical muppets. 😀
I wonder why Eddie and Frank acted so formally with each other? Canonically, they’re married and Eddie even calls Frank by his name at first but quickly corrects himself. Eddie’s even proven to be close enough to Julie- Frank’s best friend- that he’s allowed to play pretend with her in her own home. So why all the formalities?
Well, the showrunners were forced to undo Frank and Eddie's romance due to the time period, and it looks like the scripts were rewritten to make them acquaintances with some subtle implications to them being a couple, and they just have a hard time remembering that in the show that they are meant to be friends. So eddie made a Freudian slip there and quickly corrected himself. As we see with the last tape, the puppets can go off script sometimes seeing how Wally kept zoning out and Barnaby felt concerned about him
Well it could be a pre marital period or just Eddie trying to respect Franks boundaries, in Eddie’s big lift when he’s encouraged to pick up Frank he immediately backs after after Frank says no and since Frank calls Eddie by his last name he’s probably trying to do the same to show some respect considering from what we’ve seen he just rolls with whatever everyone throws at him so him calling Frank by his first name could be Eddie just forgetting Franks thing. Or I’m just reading too much into this
This is supposed to take place during the late 60s to early 70s. Gay marriage wasn't legalized until 2015. They couldn't have openly gay characters in the 60s-90s, especially in a kids show.
i heard a theory that house is controlling Wally and in the kast few mins of this you can actualky kinda hear it in their laugh. like how Wally has a very dry "hah. . . hah. . . hah" and house did a "(squeak). . . (squeak). . . (squesk). . ." if that makes sense also in the art inder the house, the one titled "as a bove" Wally is looking out of House's eye but idk
yeah i noticed the laughter too. in Wally's interview (it's on the websit, not in this video), his laugh sounded more genuine, probably because the show had recently started at that time. i think home took control later on, maybe as the show got more popular? maybe the act of becoming famous, or having eyes on them, is what empowers them and makes them come to life.
What if Wally is avoiding looking at his friends cause that’s how whatever is controlling him get into you, through his eyes. And maybe the parts we are seeing isn’t actually Wally but us seeing through Wally and when the characters acknowledge him it breaks him out of the trance
Wally probably wasn't the real protagonist in the past, so he's not the focus. But became popular in the past for his cuteness and his personality. I guess Barnaby could've been the real protagonist, but the characters prefered Wally or he realized that since he was so popular he should've been the real star in the show. I think he and home works together or most probably he control home. In "just so" he said that home asked if he can play with them. Kinda remind me how Ernie use Rubber Ducky to obtain attention from Bert. Wally felt guilty because he love his friend, but I think it's quite the situation in the first Thor movie. Wally to me is similar to Loki, but not so cruel as him.
I'ts clear that everything happened the same day. Anyway even if Wally is silent is always around. But we don't know if after he answer. When was in the garden of Frank seems that he was lying on the ground playing with the stuff around him, or there was some secret messages. As we can see blue came out here and there. What if they planned to destroy Barnaby for some reason? And probably Wally should do this, in order to become the "king" of that world, but I'm quite sure that he didn't want to rule that world. And surely they didn't let him to become the king. As we can see in the doodle that he made when Julie was president he had a tie, a sign that he wants power, but as we can see he's not so powerful... because at this point he would've been the king and he wouldn't need to do all of this! After when they where discussing the play Julie started to being crazy as usual, but as we can hear what she said is that the "princess of the golden hair" Will become a queen! Than defeated a king and a bear. The bear could be Barnaby, the king I'm not sure... probably Frank, but she has a really good relationship with him. Or Eddie, because he's an obstacle. When She said that she polished her horns seemed that she was flirting with Frank. I think Wally was sending all the audio messages between all the clips. Maybe he was planning to escape secretely, but feel guilty especially for Barnaby, 'cause he knows what would happen to him! The ripped tomato could mean that he would be the next, since his colour is red. If he refuses to destroy Barnaby he would be destroyed. The void under home is probably a portal to pur world. But in order to open it Wally needs more eyes. Probably it's like a teleport, he can communicate with more people and find new friends, because that is his main goal.
I don't think they'd give the sentient home to someone who wasn't the main protagonist. Like maybe it was intended for barnaby but they saw Wally as a better audience surrogate due to his curiousness.

I’ve noticed that throughout this video, the audio clearly gets louder. I don’t know if this is an editing thing, but my brain instantly went to Wally being more interactive with each video. He’s a little more engaged, but still out of it.
I really love all of their voices, they all fit the characters so well and sound so so genuinely like they come from an old puppet show. May have my favorites, but Eddie's VA really nails every single part of his character well; he's a bit clumsy, talks a LOT, and he probably notices this is why people don't really like to deal with him but yet he remains nice with everyone else, heck, he's always in a hurry but still takes his moments to talk and help everyone around, not matter how tired he is. AND HIS VOICE IS JUST SO SO ON POINT FOR HIM

After watching Night Mind's 2-hour stream I am coming to look at all the audio files now. I like how everyone has their own personalities. Unlike a lot of other ARGs and series, there is almost no paranormal stuff, no crazy plot twists, and no cliches. Just some good old fun between all the characters, and sure they are alive but that is the closest to paranormal we get. And yet it still gives you the indication something is wrong. Especially with Wally.
From my perspective the dynamic with Eddie and Frank's interactions were more witty banter with undertones of fondness (Putting into consideration that he also teases Eddie instead of show annoyance like he does with Barnaby when confronted). Especially considering the tone Frank uses with him, resembles the tone he uses for Poppy and Julie. And honestly between all of the neighbors (Excluding Poppy, because honestly she's just a sweetheart to everyone), Frank treats Eddie with respect and genuine friendship (Maybe even more so because I am a sucker for them being married canonically). Even going as far as to call him by his own name rather than just 'mailman'. TLDR: pls I want more fanfics and fanart of them being gay and happy and married pleaseIbegyouClown I need more, the chemistry between them both is so strong

I always had this idea that Wally how to completely different voice when the show first started. Considering that this show was around from 1969 to 1974, my headcanon is that he originally have an Elvis voice before whatever House did to him.

I love frank SO MUCH bro, and I love his chemistry with Eddie, they're so much fun to listen to, I can hear the humor in Frank's voice so well, and Eddie's exasperation and fear of bugs being poked at was a nice touch for his character :D ALSO, WHE FRANK WAS TALKING TO POPPY(big bird lady, I think that's her name, she's the chef) when she said you eat with your eyes, was I the only one who noticedthat detail?? It always hit me se weird that Howdy calls the bread a "sponge" when everyone else sees it as bread. Also its always made me think whenever he sells what sounds like a cleaner to Sally to eat. Like, does he know something they don't???? I'm probably looking too deep into this.

Uncanny. The voice cast and whoever was in charge of the voice directing knew the assignment. These characters sound EXACTLY like Muppet performers.
I'm pretty sure it was clown and a few other people who casted the wonderful actors!
It was quite interesting to learn that Clown is autistic and confirmed that they put some of their own traits into the Welcome Home characters. As someone who's autistic too, I immediately related to Wally spacing out and being unresponsive until someone says his name and most of the time, he just remains in the background. This happens to me quite often too. Perhaps that's why I couldn't find anything strange about Wally's behavior.

Agreed, a lot of people are jumping to classic horror conclusions like, "Wally is sinister," "Wally is possessed," "Wally is traumatized." There's definitely something strange going on with the recordings, but no reason for anything to be wrong with Wally in the recordings. He's just quiet but attentive

The dialogue is so good that it makes you forget that some horrific event is going to happen.
They feel so normal that the only thing strange about it is that Home is the only living thing in the neighborhood. But if everyone already knows this, then it's not that strange.

And poppy as well, although, he seems to have a soft spot for those that he is close to, but my personal favourite would be him and Eddie, legit, these two act as if they aren't married or such, their such goobers.

Wally: everybody plays nice with him and sometimes act like their surprised to see him, as if they have their guard up.
Everyone else like Sally or Poppy and others interactions with each other are mostly friendly and actually enjoy each other's time.
Eddie is kinda awkward around people.
It's odd that Wally is always there and others know for a fact he is there, but they just don't pay much attention to him, almost like a secondary character, he facilitates transitions between dialogues but we never hear those, you can even see his tiny yellow hand moving some in the frame, but that's it.
He's definitely dissociating, perhaps they've caught on to Wallys recent unresponsive and try not to bother but still make him feel included by being there

All of the videos seem to end with someone saying something to Wally, despite him not saying anything. Or the conversation sounding like it was only two people/puppets there. Also, based on just the way the videos are situated(like their POV), I'd have to guess were seeing and hearing everything from Wallys POV. Especially because in the first video you can see what looks to be wallys hands holding yarn.

It would be more logical if tea is what wally is saying rather than it being x and this could mean that wally can only speak through Morse code or through home since in the last video Barnaby was speaking towards home until the end of the clip.

5:28 I just now realized what sally said. I watched this video over and over and just now it crossed my mind. When talking about food, sally worries about weight. And that is interesting, cause she is kinda say, if she eats something fatty related, she can gain weight. "I dont want to get a stitch", meaning if she does gain weight, the material she is made out of will most likely rip thus in need to repair. Very specific choice of words.

At the end, every character asked for Wally’s attention (ex: “Isn’t that right, Wally?”, “Are you okay, Wally?”) which causes the end of the video to glitch out. I’ll get to that video thing in a second.
First off, Wally is DEFINITELY dissociating in these recordings. He’s so out of zone that whenever someone mentions his name after a while, his mind forces him to snap back to reality. But there’s some other stuff I noticed too:
- He uses Morse Code to decipher, “Tea”, while being with Poppy and Sally.
- The camera shakes near the end of Barnaby and Home’s conversation. Which NEVER happened to the other videos.
- And-
Wait….videos. Recordings. Glitching.
Why are we seeing recordings and lenses through Wally’s perspective? Shouldn’t we see the real deal of The Neighborhood? Areas that at least aren’t covered with static noises?
Unless……..
SOMEONE or SOMETHING is watching through Wally. No one else noticed his struggles BUT himself. He’s definitely being controlled/possessed by his will.
- In Eddie’s Big Lift, it’s pretty much a storybook, so we don’t really see Wally struggling here. He’s VERY involved in conversations.
- In the interview, Wally’s innocent and upbeat nature doesn’t show any type of fear, remorse, or controlling words. Just a silly Muppet like interview with a…interesting host.
- Lastly, there’s a hidden recording that sounds like Wally is reading from a script. He asks things like “Do you see me?”, “Can you see me?”, and “Can you draw eyes?” Under his tone, it’s low and static. Alongside a heartbeat that gets rapid by the minute as he gets anxious and breathless.
TLDR: Wally ISN’T the villain of the story, but the people who recovered the show project are. And what they intend to do with the puppets is BEYOND horrifying.
BONUS: Personally, Home isn’t really involved with this….I think. Either Home is also a victim of possession (It’s Canon that the characters hang out and understand Home, let alone Barnaby), or it’s apart of the plan from the jump.

Personally no matter what I do think Wally IS the victim and not the villain but I always assumed it was Home hurting Wally. There's that one audio with him singing and at the end he asks Home what he thinks of it and when it answers Wally says "that's good, I think" which sounds like he's anxious or scared of Home
I'm not the best at making theories or figuring out things but I mainly just go along with others theories and just happily enjoy the ride lol

Wally seems pretty shy, not saying anything and hiding. It’s like this was his actual personality or Home having changed him in a way he’s noticed. As if Home took over whenever somebody said Wally’s name.

I love how consistent these audios are. They all seem to take place in a short period of time.
Like, in the first one Howdy tells Poppy that he has an order waiting for him back at the shop. Then later we have Eddie delivery a bunch of goods to Howdy who then gives him a bunch of bowling balls for Julie. And then later on Eddie mentions that that delivery didn't go very well.
Or how Barnaby tells Home everything he did: winding up Frank, teasing Juile over her sense of humor, listening to Howdy talk about his family and trying to dogpile Eddie.
I just love how they are all connected in this way.
I love Wally, he’s such a good representation of an autistic person that we don’t get to see often in media. He’s just like me for realsies
Bro i just realized when sally was ordering her food they werent giving her food, they were giving her cleaning products and wood. Sally even kinda noticed this by saying "bubble blast soap flakes" and how the brand sounded weird but disregarded it due to"marketing tatics". And when she was reviewing her order she called it "Bubble blast instant mash" without realizing it.
I stumbled across this and now I have a few questions:
1. Is Howdy some sort of con man? Because he convinced Poppy to try out some yarn wrapper and sold Sally weird inedible stuff like "bouncy yellow bread" (a sponge) and a cereal that was actually woodchips and sawdust.
2. If not, is Sally just unable to taste due to the fact she's a (literal) star? Because in the previous one where she was talking with Poppy, she didn't consider a flavour for her cake. (though admittedly, she could've just gotten sidetracked...)
3. Also smaller question, but is all the food actually fake in the world of Welcome Home? They are puppets, so they probably don't need to eat actual food... Maybe Howdy is aware of that??
4. Possible final question, does that mean that the instant mashed potatoes were soap flakes, or were the soap flakes a different kind of 'cereal'?

About Howdy, I wouldn't would'n say that he is a con man, but he seen a bit pushy, a bit like door salesman's I think XD. He reminds me at the Addison from deltarune.
About the food, I think that is what you're saying: the puppets don't really eat or not like us. So or they minds are distorted to the point that they don't distinguish between real food or false food or they simply eat different than us. Personally I think is the first one because if is normal howdy wouldn't remark the difference or that Sally believes that are real food.
Howdy could have accidentally grabbed the wrong box with one of his arms while talking to Sally, but that’s just food for thought considering we didn’t see if he was looking directly at Sally or could have just turned another direction while grabbing it. But then again I could be wrong like how I was wrong about Howdy personality asdfghjkl.

What I learned from these characters interactions:
Eddie gets little to no sympathy for the work he does and is scared easily
Sally gets pissed off easily if things don't go her way and is afraid of gaining weight
Frank definitely despises Barnaby and Howdy
Poppy may be agoraphobic
Julie has the need to be validated a lot
Barnaby has a bit of a cruel side to him
Howdy definitely appears to be some kind of con man
And what ALL these characters have in common is that they all see Wally as their comfort companion, the one person they never judge and look to him for guidance
If this is Wally's POV it seems like Waly spends time looking away from people and is left out of the conversation. I unfortunately can relate to that feeling of being "Outside" the conversation and interacting with people. Maybe the inner emotional trama and pain from this is how house is able to manipulate and control Wally

@@joannetrueman6838biggest option at this point? poppy. she seems like the type to cower when threatened and wouldn't tell others in fear of bothering them. not to mention she seems the most likely to not have anybody looking for her when she disappears. other choice may be barnaby since he's constantly stuck next to wally, or sally because she'd be easy for home to antagonize from the rest of the gang and forcing her to become isolated due to her temper.
The last one is interesting (i havent found it in the website) Barnaby seems to be implying that everyone of these scence are all in one same day (atleast barnaby's clips) plus at the end Wally was just staring at his painting and barnaby knew something was wrong, this is the one clip were something actually goes wrong that is not just the shows comedic fun

I'm relatively new to the Welcome Home fandom (just started looking into it last week) and have been checking out the story, theories, lore. I got some of the surface level stuff down and I got kind of a working theory. Not sure if this is anything new though, but here we go:
Unlike the other residents of the Neighborhood, Home can not move. He is a stagnant building who can only see in one direction. He can not visit the others on his own, he can not play games, he can't even "go to Howdy's and pick out his own hotdog" (Eddie's Big Lift audio). Wally is an artist. Wally travels the Neighborhood, plays games and learns new things from the Neighbors, and when he returns to Home, he paints what he saw.
Wally was Home's eyes.
Over time, the paintings weren't enough anymore. Home didn't want to see paintings of the Neighbors and the Neighborhood, he wanted to experience them for himself. Home gave Wally "special ink" (Found in one of the Staff Only Documents as "weird mold growing off the art") to help. At first, Home had Wally put eyes around town that Home could see through, but they weren't enough. Then, he had Wally paint beetles that would come to life and explore the town, eating vegetables and visiting the post office (Hidden Videos), but they weren't enough.
Then, Home had an idea. He asked Wally to borrow his eyes by painting them with the ink.
Now wherever Wally went, so did Home. However, this would only last a short while (The Hidden Videos), and when Home took over, Wally was no longer in control. But his mind had to go somewhere, so it went Home. Wally and Home would switch bodies for a short time, like two players swapping puppets between hands. But even still, Home had limited control over Wally's body, only managing to remain stagnant.
Wally saw this as helping a friend...at first. But he grew more and more uncomfortable. He would stay away from Home for longer periods of time and look for excuses not to go back (Such as in "Just So" where he, and artist, wanted to stay with Frank longer and learn about the colors again). Barnaby (either willingly or unwillingly) was sent to "fetch" Wally and bring him to Home. In one of the illustrations, it is shown that Wally painted Barnaby's paws; it could have been with the special ink before Wally truly understood what it did. Eventually, Home grew more used to Wally's body, to the point where he could steal his voice, which I believe to be the person behind many of the audio logs. And in turn, Wally became more and more confined to Home (the "So Below" image)
But as all things, the world of Welcome Home was no longer enough. Now Home wants a new vessel, one from this world. And now that the show's been unearthed, he can start looking for one.
But hey, that's just a theory

Funny thing, he's actually VERY smart. He's clumsy and forgetful wich is different, but he is a very clever and culture boi. I think he seems a bit simpler bc he just tries to flow with the ppl around him and even if they're not being the nicest to him, he's willing to help and be nice to them.

Wally’s lack of enthusiasm is interesting, because when you think about it at first, it sounds like there was no effort put into this character, but when you think about it more, it seems to be intentional. Especially when Wally lives in a house that is sentient, and has some kind of bond to it. It’s interesting, but it’s odd at the same time.
The lore is very interesting, and seeing that we get actual footage, tells me that maybe the creator will make actual characters that we can see. Considering this is meant to be a parallel to Sesame Street, especially with the art style, I’d love to see these characters be turned into physical muppets. 😀
I wonder why Eddie and Frank acted so formally with each other? Canonically, they’re married and Eddie even calls Frank by his name at first but quickly corrects himself. Eddie’s even proven to be close enough to Julie- Frank’s best friend- that he’s allowed to play pretend with her in her own home. So why all the formalities?
They aren't married yet, the art of them together was concept art. They'll probably become warmer as the story progresses
Well, the showrunners were forced to undo Frank and Eddie's romance due to the time period, and it looks like the scripts were rewritten to make them acquaintances with some subtle implications to them being a couple, and they just have a hard time remembering that in the show that they are meant to be friends. So eddie made a Freudian slip there and quickly corrected himself. As we see with the last tape, the puppets can go off script sometimes seeing how Wally kept zoning out and Barnaby felt concerned about him
Well it could be a pre marital period or just Eddie trying to respect Franks boundaries, in Eddie’s big lift when he’s encouraged to pick up Frank he immediately backs after after Frank says no and since Frank calls Eddie by his last name he’s probably trying to do the same to show some respect considering from what we’ve seen he just rolls with whatever everyone throws at him so him calling Frank by his first name could be Eddie just forgetting Franks thing. Or I’m just reading too much into this
The current theory is that the showrunners were homophobic and didn't allow them to express love or closeness to one another.
This is supposed to take place during the late 60s to early 70s. Gay marriage wasn't legalized until 2015.
They couldn't have openly gay characters in the 60s-90s, especially in a kids show.

yeah i noticed the laughter too. in Wally's interview (it's on the websit, not in this video), his laugh sounded more genuine, probably because the show had recently started at that time. i think home took control later on, maybe as the show got more popular? maybe the act of becoming famous, or having eyes on them, is what empowers them and makes them come to life.

What if Wally is avoiding looking at his friends cause that’s how whatever is controlling him get into you, through his eyes. And maybe the parts we are seeing isn’t actually Wally but us seeing through Wally and when the characters acknowledge him it breaks him out of the trance
Wally's autistic, eye contact is naturally hard for us.
It does bring up the phrase, "The Eyes are the gate way to the soul."
Wally probably wasn't the real protagonist in the past, so he's not the focus.
But became popular in the past for his cuteness and his personality.
I guess Barnaby could've been the real protagonist, but the characters prefered Wally or he realized that since he was so popular he should've been the real star in the show.

I don't think they'd give the sentient home to someone who wasn't the main protagonist. Like maybe it was intended for barnaby but they saw Wally as a better audience surrogate due to his curiousness.

I’ve noticed that throughout this video, the audio clearly gets louder. I don’t know if this is an editing thing, but my brain instantly went to Wally being more interactive with each video. He’s a little more engaged, but still out of it.
I really love all of their voices, they all fit the characters so well and sound so so genuinely like they come from an old puppet show. May have my favorites, but Eddie's VA really nails every single part of his character well; he's a bit clumsy, talks a LOT, and he probably notices this is why people don't really like to deal with him but yet he remains nice with everyone else, heck, he's always in a hurry but still takes his moments to talk and help everyone around, not matter how tired he is. AND HIS VOICE IS JUST SO SO ON POINT FOR HIM

After watching Night Mind's 2-hour stream I am coming to look at all the audio files now. I like how everyone has their own personalities. Unlike a lot of other ARGs and series, there is almost no paranormal stuff, no crazy plot twists, and no cliches. Just some good old fun between all the characters, and sure they are alive but that is the closest to paranormal we get. And yet it still gives you the indication something is wrong. Especially with Wally.
Well we're gonna get some plot twists eventually but for now it's a somewhat simple story so far with some complexity

From my perspective the dynamic with Eddie and Frank's interactions were more witty banter with undertones of fondness (Putting into consideration that he also teases Eddie instead of show annoyance like he does with Barnaby when confronted). Especially considering the tone Frank uses with him, resembles the tone he uses for Poppy and Julie.
And honestly between all of the neighbors (Excluding Poppy, because honestly she's just a sweetheart to everyone), Frank treats Eddie with respect and genuine friendship (Maybe even more so because I am a sucker for them being married canonically). Even going as far as to call him by his own name rather than just 'mailman'.
TLDR: pls I want more fanfics and fanart of them being gay and happy and married pleaseIbegyouClown I need more, the chemistry between them both is so strong

I always had this idea that Wally how to completely different voice when the show first started.
Considering that this show was around from 1969 to 1974, my headcanon is that he originally have an Elvis voice before whatever House did to him.

I love frank SO MUCH bro, and I love his chemistry with Eddie, they're so much fun to listen to, I can hear the humor in Frank's voice so well, and Eddie's exasperation and fear of bugs being poked at was a nice touch for his character :D
