Woolie's driving skills are mad impressive! How can somebody even be so horrible at steering without being blindfolded, drunk and concussed at the same time? Honorable mention goes to his incredible ability to have immense amounts of trouble grasping even the simplest gameplay concepts, like backpacks and influence being a currency.

Ohhhh I don't comment on these videos often, but Pat is spot on. State of Decay is probably one of the best open world zombie apocalypse game to date, but it is EXTREMELY jank. Here's hoping Undead Labs does a better job with State of Decay 2.
This game was actually supposed to be a massively multi-player PC game until Microsoft bought into it for their 360, then the development shifted to 4-player co-op. After a while Microsoft pushed for an earlier release and multi-player was scrapped entirely.
I think the worst part is the devs said they were GOING to make multiplayer a thing, but never did. And this game would've been fucking amazeballs if that did happen. I still love it but co-op would've been sick.

Interesting story: Just checked this out in the Steam store. Apparently it was originally released in 2013, with multiple patches following. Anyway in 2015 they release a Directx 11 1080P version, why they couldn't include that in a patch I don't know. You would think that like what Bethesda did when Skyrim enhanced came out people that bought the previous version would get it free. Nope. Not only that they took the original version off of steam so they can charge a premium price. So the version that would have worked on my PC is now blocked by greed. That would be akin to From Soft taking Dark Souls 2 down after Scholar of the First Sin came out.
There was an old game made by James Silva before his Ska Studios days that was a surprisingly excellent survival sim. It even had some cool Silent-Hill-style "otherworld" stuff going on in the more advanced stages.
Oh god, they didn't trigger the gunshots by checking the water tower or investigate quickly enough, now Maya might be dead. Oh fuck, it's all coming back to me. No. I don't wanna. Nooooo. Lucky bastards, she died on two of my playthroughs and I spent a quarter of the time they did dicking around.

Man, I remember all the tricks from this game, like how instead of bashing zombies with the car's body, you can open the car door and bash them with that without lowering the car's durability. Also, instead of aiming conventionally, you can aim at zombie head level and strafe from side to side to headshot them and it's way more effective because of the jank aiming controls and all the zombies having similar animations where all their heads are on the same level. Good shit.
My only memory of this game is when I played a significant amount of hours with the starting guy,Marcus, and thought it would be a great idea to take on one of the giant, boss zombies(juggernaut?) and then got promptly destroyed. Hadn't lost anybody up to that point.

barricading is "free" (it doesn't use materials) but it does create a boatload of noise. You can also barricade any window, even those outside a safe-house.
Fun fact: If you upgrade the base you can fix cars, pretty easily. What Pat did not told, is the fact that the game time do not stops if you exit, and if you left a horde close or some shit, you'll come back with your shits gone, and your guys dead

If only the perfect tool for dealing with hordes were mere feet away from out current position!" Classic. that's the thing about this game, you're never fucked when you think you're fucked, it's when you think things are going well and realize as you're being torn apart that you were fucked. also it gets way harder in the later story world states
Imagine a good sequel to this with co-op in which you and your friend could explore the whole map online either separately to cover more ground, or close together for zombie takedown.
man when i first played this game i only used markus and had most of his stats up and had the best gear, then got hit by a mega horde and once he died i basically had to start all over with another character, there was no way i could get the supplies i had on markus back with what i did have and characters

the cars are a little bit floaty and lack any sense of weight, but it's fine if you aren't naturally bad at driving game cars

When I played this game on the xbox one, I used cars most of the time. The trucks and suvs were good at running down hordes.

You can repair the cars if you park your cars in the parking spots in your settlement, it takes a while

Imagine a good sequel to this with co-op in which you and your friend could explore the whole map online either separately to cover more ground, or close together for zombie takedown.
man when i first played this game i only used markus and had most of his stats up and had the best gear, then got hit by a mega horde and once he died i basically had to start all over with another character, there was no way i could get the supplies i had on markus back with what i did have and characters
Janky but great is the best description possible for this game. So many good ideas I want to see expanded on.
Woolie saying 'we'll just follow the road there' then smashing directly into an electric pole & Pat saying 'you did it' is exactly what I expect to happen. It also happened in the game 32:25
50 zombies around and Wools can only think of is grab the stuff.
