Their album Operation:Mindcrime is a Rock masterpiece. You have to listen to it from the beginning to end in sequence to understand the story arc. It's what used to be called a Rock Opera.
Best heavy metal concept album of the 80's sung by one of the best metal vocalist of the 80's. If you really want to hear what his voice has to offer, check out "Take Hold Of The Flame" live in Tokyo, forgot the year but it's early 80's.
That whole concert video is amazing! For Geoff to save his BEST for the last two songs speaks volumes to his voice control! They ended the set with "Take hold of the flame", then "Queen of the Reich".
I can understand why this was requested, it was the lead single off the album and really brought a lot of visibility to the band before they finally really broke out with the next album. The story itself is really well done, but concept albums were always hard to sell. If you do get to the album either online or in your off time, it's definitely worth the listen.
What a song. The band got the idea for this album when, in the early 80s, a couple of the members found themselves in the “darkside” of Quebec hanging out with a group of violent revolutionary anarchist who wanted to overthrow the Canadian government. Probably my favorite 1980s album.
You just can not go wrong listening to Operation Mindcrime. Just gotta listen in order to get the story. I wonder what bands nowadays make themed epic albums like this or today the equivalent is probably single tracks with a theme running through as they release one by one.
There aren't that many GREAT concept albums. This is one of them: one of the best albums ever recorded. You must listen to the entire album. Without context, you can't understand this song entirely, because it's the end of the story. Great music, great vocals, great everything, but listen to the whole album! This is one you SHOULD make time for.... especially in terms of analyzing the lyrics.
Do the whole album and then release split the recording up with individual videos of each song. If you enjoyed this, there's really not a bad song on the whole album.
A lot to react to the whole album, maybe. But get yourself a copy and listen to the whole thing in your own time at the very least. Inspiration for many a book methinks.
On a serious note i didnt realize you didnt come back to them because you wanted to do the entire album or i would have started with Anarchy-x instead of the last song on the album. If it helps Operation mind crime is not just one album . Operation mind crime 2 with Ronnie james Dio singing is out there too. You definitely dont have time for both. Im not trying to deter you from reacting to the albums but i am trying to make you not feel like you need to do both of them.....get this bus off me!
Oh this is the last song 😅. Lets consider it the prologue and then we get a message "14 songs earlier" 😁. That was only one of the reasons. There are tons of artists i want to explore more of. And everyday i put like reminders in my calendar, but i keep postponing it after recording all my requests 😄.
@SaeedReacts. I seriously think you should but a top 10 list if songs that are on your reminder list to check out somewhere for us to see so we can request ones from your list.
THANKS! YOU THREW ME UNDER THE BUS! First of all my address is not 1#$ %$#&%$# its now #@$!%&÷@#% %$#@!@#$. Second of all if got off your lazy backside and did some work you would have covered the entire album by now. Its not like your busy or something. Lol😂😂

Take Hold Of The Flame - live in Tokyo.
Revolution Calling is still relevant today, if not more so than when they wrote it.
It's like your reading the last chapter of a book first \m/
Exactly!
@@SaeedReacts.Exactly! I can't believe you watched this first! I'm unsubscribing! 😂
I saw this concert with my twin sister. It was incredible!!!
Check out Suite Sister Mary on the same album.
The song Operation Mindcrime is the song that lays it out the best, but the album is best heard in order.
Great song. Loved the musicality and vocals. Great reaction.😊
MY 2 FAVORITE METAL CONCEPT ALBUMS OPERATION MINDCRIME AND WASP THE CRIMSON IDOL BOTH CLASSICS

Geoff Tate has one of the best rock voices around. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Unfortunately they had a very messy split in 2012. The lawyers got rich 😂
Ouch 😅

Operation: Mindcrime: 2 was not that great. The song with Dio was the best one there, but, the whole thing was very disappointing.
Please can you react to Stigma by Tom Walker I’ve been asking for 6 months and I really want to see someone react to it
