Loved this back-to-basics hamburger soup. My grandpa made something similar, but the basics are still there. I love the versatility of this recipe. If you want to saute onions with the hamburger, that's fine, but if you don't, that is fine also. If you want to add celery while doing a saute, that's fine, too. If you want to add fresh carrots, then add them with the potatoes, that is fine, too. Such a hearty, healthy, use-what-you-have soup. Love it. Thank you, Ozark Duke, for reminding us that we don't need the world market to make a hearty, healthy, inexpensive, yet freezable soup. My grandpa also added fresh turnips and parsnips when they were available. Seasonings are always to taste.

Thank you for coming by to watch. in today's world we spend too much time chasing a spice from across the world. we need to use what's in our own front yard, what we can pick up at the store while shopping. nt a spice we have to send off for or spend so much money on when we don't really even need it. you'll always find the old ways is always the best ways. when you add things and or take away things it's not the same it's a whole different food. stay simple stay healthy i believe in that.

We love carrots but don't care for green beans in our soup. We like potatoes in our soup or stew. I like green beans but not in my soup or pot pie. I think I would enjoy your soup recipe thank you.

Your Hamburger soup is similar to mine. I add onions, potatoes, garlic powder, and some beef bullion. (I drain most of the grease off of the hamburger.) Mine might be called Hamburger stew.
I'll have to try your's since I can no longer eat onions. But, I'll have to back off on the pepper.

Use frozen veggies and it taste better. Add beef broth to make up for the liquid that you get from the cans.

I make something I call Hobo Stew. It’s 1 lb. hamburger browned with 1/2 chopped onion, drain fat and add 2 cans vegetarian vegetable soup (undiluted) and one small can tomato sauce. It’s good with a pan of cornbread.

It’s neat to see the differences in the cookin. lol Except that soup is practically begging you to put two bay leaves in it at the very least in my mind! Haha! Southeast Texas here.
    Good stuff! 😊
