- how the game runs during actual gameplay at 3440x1440. I couldn't get rivatuner working with ENB so I have to use ENB's fps counter.

This reminds me the last time I modded Skyrim for a whole weekend, launched it, realized that even if it looked great it was still Skyrim, never launched it again lmao

@@cristiandv3264 well if you have already played like 5+ playthroughs you already know most things so there is not much sense of exploration like the first time. And graphic mods wont change that.
That's why I mod the combat as well as graphics
@@cristiandv3264 Skyrim basically watered down many of the gameplay elements of the previous games (no attributes, no spellmaking, no actual character class right from the beginning, enchantment is more rigid, menu doesn't work as well as in Oblivion etc. etc.). It made some improvements in terms of graphics, AI and general presentation, but that does not balance out the massive loss in gameplay. So when you improve the graphics, you are basically drawn towards looking at the game, not really playing it.
Sort of agree - I mean it was great for its time but that was 12(!) years ago already and it's really really hard to mod out all the jank. I find when I do want to play again it's just to mess with mods for a few dozen hours, barely touch the story, explore a bit and then get bored.

The RT shader halves my fps. Not the best for gameplay
A lot of the 4090's performance comes from DLSS 3 and frame generation AI tech.
@@omen_apollo I’m about to get a new 4090 pc basically as top as you can get in every component. It’s been close on 10 years since I played Skyrim. I feel this is gonna be a play through now.
@@shadowskill111 not really true. if youve watched benchmarks, you should know that even without dlss or Frame gen, this card basically rips thru anything, Playing Cyberpunk at ultrawide with ray tracing, everything ultra without dlss even 60 fps is breathtaking.
I have a 3080 for 3440x1440, but Omen's FPS is significantly better than mine for the mods & ENB/reshade he is using LOL
3440x1440 really does take a big performance hit when it comes to Skyrim.
its nice that youve tested falkreath, because its probably the most graphics intense area in the game.

You can barely even tell it's skyrim anymore, looks more like a game set in the lion the witch and the wardrobe
Pretty similar to how mine runs on very similar mod setup, same hardware and resolution! I just lock at 60 fps and call it a day haha - what lighting mod are you using besides the RTGI shader btw? Liking those volumetric rays

I am using bjorn enb for those volumetrics. I tweaked it quite a bit through reshade and the enb ini though

Is this only Traverse the Ulvenwald? Or are you using another tree mod? Your trees look so tall and huge
I'm using ulvenwald but also a mod called Dense Nordic Forests. It just adds more trees

might be a little late but whenever i toggle rtgi in the reshade menu i get a strange overlay on my screen. any idea how to fix?

I have a video coming soon that shows which graphic mods i use. I also plan on sharing my custom reshade and enb. The reason I am not sharing the modlist right away is because it is currently in progress and constantly changing.

Funny, when I upgraded my PC from GTX960 to RTX2060, I thought finally I could play modded Skyrim properly. To my surprise, I couldn't😂 Had to choose Enb and grass/treemods carefully to hit that sweet 60fps spot. And the mod setup wasn't even that heavy
@@DarthRevan260 could be your physic mod too, but crazy for knowing modded skyrim is maybe more heavy than RDR2 or another AAA games 😂

Nah, it’s skyrims dated animations (or lack thereof). Going from holding W to D results in an instantaneous 90° infinite g-force snap direction change. I think there’s mods for that too, but I can’t remember
When you raise visual quality, everything else stands out negatively if it doesn’t match the level of realism
@@xpeterson yeah it's just skyrims dated animations. That combined with modern hyper-realistic lighting and textures make it stand out even more as @astudios said. I also think it's because skyrim was designed around controller which has analog sticks. That doesn't happen from what I remember using a controller. Just pressing W or D will result in either 0 or 100% movement, no granularity.. and the guy in the video was spamming it lol. Also when he sprints the fov gets way higher which looks a bit unnatural. This game plays better in first person view anyways (imo).

Because some people want Soulslike combat combined with Skyrim's exploring/questing/roleplaying stuff. I mean, if it was possible to make Elden Ring more "Skyrimy" I'd love that more😂

tbh even if Id spend a few days modding this - id just disable 90% of the mods and play enhanced vanilla anyway, for me that's what the charm and the nostalgia are about
