    The main problem with RTGI is it showing through fog. You can't really adjust the Z filter thing to make it not do that, because then its effect on everything else is almost unnoticeable.

    I think the RTX isn't working because you havn't removed all the original lighting. The original lighting may have baked lighting and lights for the sake of just lighting the scene or bake ambient lighting. For RTX to look good you need to start from scratch the lighting like in DOOM 1994 RTX which is the best example that they needed a torch to navigate dark areas. So remove all original lighting from the scenes then apply RTX then add lights in realistic positions.
    Also in addition you need to remove all original fake shadows from the scene and this includes fake shadows artistically added to textures.

      What are screen space limitations?

    • @temporaltomato3021
      @temporaltomato3021 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MrVeekz The RTGI shader (actually ReShade itself) can only work with on-screen information. So essentially ReShade can't take into account any kind of light sources that might be off-screen. Meaning as you move around in the world you can see lighting in some areas change unnaturally, as the shader just lost/gained information that just left/entered the screen area field of view. This effect most often occurs near the edges of the screen, while the scene is in motion.

    • @Terrainer
      @Terrainer ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MrVeekz the RTGI shader, along with all Reshade shaders, are done in screen space. That means that it can only work with the information from what's on your screen at the time.
      In the case of RTGI, this means, for example, looking through a doorway will result in unnatural darkness on the other side, as it doesn't know there is light behind it.
      It also means that there are some visual artifacts/ghosting associated with things coming in and out of view by either occlusion, or changing perspective.

    Not true. Reshade massively reduces fps by like 20fps it self rtgi halfs fps and a 4090 would get more fps then 90 in unmodded skyrim

    • @omen_apollo
      @omen_apollo  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Reshade itself doesnt “reduce fps by 20” It all depends on the effects you use. RTGI shader on a 4090 certainly doesnt half your fps. I toggle it on and off in the video. My ray count is at 5 so it’s very light on the 4090. This also isnt unmodded skyrim. I’m using a heavy enb here with dense flora mods.

    • @alumlovescake
      @alumlovescake 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@omen_apollo It depends on the game but reshade definitely adds a lot of stutter, input lag and frame drops in some games it makes it a slideshow in others it is only somewhat noticeable if you have enough power and overhead to brute force past it but its always there. having it just installed causes issues rtgi is itself is very demanding no matter what and mostly does very little compared to what videos will have you believe b there is a reason why almost every "super duper 8k 4090 rtx rtgi reshade remastered remake modded next gen beyond limit ps5 XSX pc" video never has anyone able to recreate it and is just full of either sheeps saying "wow" or people saying it doesn't work. It doesn't help Skyrim is an old game that is not the best technically. The 4090 means nothing because there is something wrong with reshade and certain games

    • @omen_apollo
      @omen_apollo  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alumlovescake Sounds like you have never actually played around with these shaders and or tested performance. Reshade and rtgi work fine in skyrim. RTGI performance is not as bad as you make it seem. My video is enough proof.
