This is a wonderful recipe.I tried this and even for a beginner, people,I'm not boasting ,it came out awesome. All credit goes to the vivid description. He has got good culinary and anchoring skills.I love this guy.
Chef Varun, I'm an old woman learning to cook Indian dishes from your amazing videos. However, please, button your shirt so I can concentrate. As another comment stated, 'he's got swag'--and so you do. You're an amazing young chef who deserves a wide audience or a show of your own.
I tried Ur recipe today, with same amount of spices. It came out so well with authentic taste. My son yesterday asked for this gravy.I have tried once earlier, but today I wanted to have a refresh of ingredients.Seeing the caption n presentation of video,I tried.Superb taste. And I added some more red chilly powder for spicey taste. My 10 year old n 8 year old boys loved it with chicken biryani. All my in-laws too had a different type of feast.Thank for the recipe.
I made 20 portions in order to freeze some - half with chicken and half with fish. It was absolutely delicious. I doubled the black stone flowers as I like them. I may have put in too much cinammon, so I'll reduce it next time. I added tinned tomatoes as I like extra veg. This is going to be one of my favourite recipes, for sure. I look forward to trying some of your other recipes.
Me and my family indulged in this absolutely lipsmacking recipe today. Thankyou Varun for making life easier by showing everyone a stepwise approach to such traditional recipes otherwise thought to be complex.
This is an amazing recipe. I had tried it once before but didnt have a proper indian style blender. Took delivery of one this week, and what a difference...Great recipe!
Tried this tonight for the first time. I spared no ingredient or expense!!! Went to my local Indian grocer found everything on the recipe list. I love Indian food and have never really cooked it, finding hard without experience to get the proper balance of spices and flavors! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING!!!! I replicated this to the tee and since I have a tomato allergy this was a delicious godsend! Please continue to share and teach Indian cuisine. I am grateful 🔥 🔥 🔥
Thank you for trying out the recipe and for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed it and found all the ingredients as per the recipe list. Keep watching our channel for more delicious recipes! ❤️

I cooked according to this video of Chettinad chicken curry... so much tasty and delicious I think the most delicious I had..!..I really appreciate your skill and thanking you!! ev ery one should try!!
I made this last night. It was absolutely amazing! I could not find stone flower in the U.S., but I ordered it from an online store in India - and had it within a few days. Thank you for this recipe!
Most Indian markets carry it but they do not know it as 'stone flower'. It is labeled dagad phool. I asked at several markets including other shoppers and no one ever heard it called 'stone flower' . As soon as I googled it and called it 'dagad phool' they knew it and had it.
Tried this recipe today.. it came out very delicious . All your recipes have few ingredients and it’s very simple and easy to make too. Your Butter chicken Masala recipe is my family all time favorite. Thanks for sharing👍
Started cooking an year back. I usually modify dishes keeping the key technique/element of a particular dish intact and vary the other bits of the dish. However, for once I was very particular of following this recipe to the tee and the end result turned out to be amazing! Thanks for the numerous other recipes too. Keep them coming! :)
I tried it today. It turned out awesome (I didn't have stone flower though) just like all your other recipes. It gives the mouth a tingling touch but the flavor is awesome. The best recipe I found online. Haters gonna hate.
You nailed it Varun. We tried it and it brought fond memories of Tamil Nadu. We had to run down the streets of Kuwait to get some Egg veech Parota to go with the Chettinad chicken. Couldn't believe our eyes and taste buds !!!
Super Chettinad curry..i Love it..wwooo kya tasty he kabhi bhi nahi khaya he aise chicken curry...my friends taste it it is very different from the world chicken curry..KFC is nothing friends
All very delicious ...and cant wait to try it . Was just wondering if sesame oil is authentic ? Considering it's so over powering in flavour and burns so readily ....would think that coconut oil would be more south indian - ( asking to clarify as I'm quite curious)
My wife and I love Chettinad style food, we tried it today and it's just too good. I prefer with Rice, what other dish would be good with Chettinad chicken curry?
Just stumbled upon this after my neighbor made it for me one day. It was so delicious. Can’t wait to try your recipe Bombay Chef! What type of seed grinder do you recommend? My coffee bean grinder doesn’t grind it fine enough.
The real chefs r those we see in small n medium restaurants but their stories r rarely told like the gadwaalis....Big chefs copy receipes from such restaurants...

Zita Lorna.... It's not the core ingredient.... If you can find garam masala then it's fine... You can use that too.
Most Indian markets carry it but they do not know it as 'stone flower'. It is labeled dagad phool. I asked at several markets including other shoppers and no one ever heard it called 'stone flower' . As soon as I googled it and called it 'dagad phool' they knew it and had it.
Please note the coconut has to be roasted till light brown n not as shown in this recipe. It was a bit burnt.

If you want to find stone flower in an Indian Market , ask for "dagad phool".
