Dear Rupert ! Just sheer brilliance! Genius ! .. got you at once and it literally stopped me in my tracks (had to stop whatever nonsense it was doing and even had to sit down for a moment 🙈😅👍🙏☀️☺️) .. such an apparent small statement re. - I and that only pure awareness legitimately has this experience - all rest proclaiming this is just projection or hearsay or ..
A small statement yet leading to a quantum leap ! Its a liberating dropping of the coin ! Uff ! Once you truly grasp this then you are so lovely deep down the rabbit hole that light is visible again on the other side ✨👍🙏 Thank you so much for your profound being and immense patience and lovely voice (supported by your gracious lovely hand gestures 👍🤩😊) 😊 thank you! 🙏👍✨❤️

Dennet as a diehard materialist, must believe that all there is in human consciousness and human physiological action thinking etc. Is the complex subatomic activity of the body, truthfully explained by conventional physics( he ignores the paradoxical nature of quantum physics since as a paradigm this physics strongly suggests consciousness in a physical system).
However, his materialist theory must explain the efficacy of “folk psychology” in steering these walking dead in day to day activities, and so his proagmatist solution is to propose that the human is the “ intentional stance” a useful pragmatic psychology for everyday zombie activity.
( the joke in philosophy of mind for years about his book “ consciousness explained” was that its subheading was “consciousness unexplained” since the word consciousness appeared only 3 times in a 500 page book).

Far be it from me to refute Rupert Spira, but once the I is seen for what it Truly is….the essence of being…I find it more helpful to then orient myself with the active aspect of the self…the Am of I Am, considering it’s actually the closest description to what we are….to what I Am. As a verb, am-ness not only feels more accurate than I-ness, it feels more universal.

I have always found the question 'are you this feeling or are you aware of the feeling' annoying and I think this video explains why. As I understand it, the truth is more that you become aware of awareness rather than aware of feelings appearing in an 'I' who believes they are someone who has feelings. The 'or are you aware of the feeling' question makes me think of the homunculus that is located somewhere in me and which can observe or be aware of the feelings as they pass through - whereas the real situation is that you become aware of awareness instead of aware of an observer.
Blimey.. writing a couple of sentences about this is a challenge so I don't know how he does 2hr talks..

Ask yourself, is the mind aware of you, I Am? Or, are you, I Am, aware of the mind? Apply this also to the body. I heard this question in a video by Swami Sarvapryiananda from the Vedanta Society NY. I believe this is what Rupert is also explaining. Please correct me if my understanding is not accurate. The mind/body cannot be aware of the I Am. Only the I Am can be aware of the body/mind. So there is only, I Am. There is no body/mind.

    • @alanneachell9092
      @alanneachell9092  2 ปีที่แล้ว

That is our direct experience if we look.

  • @ejackpete3

In non-dualism, there is no “I”, no other. It is only the thinking mind, in its action of selfing, that “conceives” of a self, by “I”.
Any concept or thought “I”, is the term the ego mind uses to refer to itself. It’s the heart of all deluded sense of separation.
Rupert is clearly wrong in his views regarding the “I” and “I am”.
“l” is always only a “thought”. In Buddhist “Anatta” “no self”
    awareness exists with no “I”.
“I” automatically implies individuality and “other than” I.
In the second video, he also claims no one can get “beyond mind”.
“I” only exists in karmic mind.
So many people are being mislead by his lectures to value the “I”. The “I” is the “me” is the ego.
Why is Rupert so popular? It’s because he validates everyone’s ego by saying the “I” is divine.
At the end of the second video he also mentions the “I am” “becomes conditioned by experiences”. Again this makes no sense. It does make sense if “I” is ego.
Listen carefully, it’s not a matter of semantics...
... the confusion is, “I” cant refer to the absence of “I”. Pure Awareness or rigpa, is merely the Consciousness, or Buddha Mind, in absence of “I”.
