Instead of drilling more holes in your boat. Drill the holes in the Minnkota bracket to match the Motorguide bracket. Then you can use your existing holes in your boat.

Just bought a used boat with this TM already on it. The front of the TM mount hangs out past the front of the boat 3.5" which hung over the first dock a pulled up to and when stepping back on the boat I thought it was going to break the mount. Along with that the prop or shaft side both interferes with the front nav light making it unusable.
Look like I'll be moving it toward the back a few inches...oh what fun.

Guys...because of your video I was able to install my new Fortrex 80 onto my boat. Understand I am not the best with tools and hooking things up successfully on the first try. Your video made this quite easy and saved me $150 installation cost. Many thanks!

FWIW they make long drill bits. This makes drilling with the bracket in place much easier.

    90degree drills are useful too

Funny how they didn't show these guys sticking their arm in the hole trying to hold the nut with the wrench while guy on top tightened the bolt.. you edited the funniest part

Lol wow, that wave at the end soaked him! Didn't look like the wave was big either.

xnitronx There were 30+ mph winds on the lake that day. So one wave would be a 2 footer and then another would be a 4 footer.

Looking to install my fortrex without a plug and was wondering what they used in this video and where I can buy it

I see a few of these videos and nobody talks about sealing the holes that are no longer used. Is it necessary? Seems you would get water in there and the fiberglass would weaken.

Disconnect the Motorguide from the Gator mount before removing the mount.

Great suggestion but it makes it very hard to lock in the stow position without it on. Have done it both ways. Thanks Aaron.

Bought ours brand new and it turned out it didn't come with a bowhead stabilizer I believe it is called! The two black triangles that the trolling motor head goes over; ours come off easily.. Too easily! I don't know if we messed up or the factory didn't include all the parts or what.

Heard of any problems with the mounts on the 112 fortrex? Know a few guys who have had issues with the mount not holding up (most likely due to the extra weight of the 112's lower unit).

Chris W We haven't heard anything yet. And we know a bunch of pros who have ran them all year without issue. So Not sure what was up with other guys having issues with the mounts. Mine has been strong for about 7 weeks now with no sign of wear and tear yet.

+Wired2Fish good to hear. One works for a MK dealer but he's up at Erie and St. Clair a lot beating the dog mess out of his equipment. I'm sure that didn't help his cause. Been thinking about moving up from a 101 fortrex and May have to do so soon. Thanks for the input!
