    Thanks for making this a QUICK and straightforward tutorial. I appreciate not having to watch a 15 minute video for something that can be explained thoroughly in under 3! You rock!

    Is it possible to use Polyester as the main fabric? You explained the process so well, but am wondering if polyester is a good material to use.

    • @DIYwithAshley
      @DIYwithAshley  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Polyester may melt or shrink it you apply an iron or place a hot plate on it. I would check the manufacturer's care instructions to make sure it can withstand heat.

    Where did you find the material with the birds? It is so pretty!

    Hi-
    What weight is the interface?

    • @DIYwithAshley
      @DIYwithAshley  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a thicker weight. This is the name of the interfacing: Pellon TP971F Fusible Thermolam Plus Fleece 45''

  • @ellacox1746
    @ellacox1746 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is the fusable interface MANDTATORY, or optional? because I do not have that

    • @DIYwithAshley
      @DIYwithAshley  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's optional but the cotton is thin. The fusible helps make it sturdy. If you have felt or sew-in interfacing, I would use that between the layers.

  • @skgarg3336

    What is fusible inner facing?Is it washable?

    • @DIYwithAshley
      @DIYwithAshley  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Pellon fusible interfacing. If you search "Pellon fusible interfacing" you'll find it online. Most interfacings are washable (check the manufacturer's product information).

    Do the placemats have to be ironed after you wash and dry them???

    • @DIYwithAshley
      @DIYwithAshley  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, and it's best to wash them using a gentle cycle.

  • @tatianaterriesmith8471

    How much yardage is it to buy❤❤❤ .?.

    • @DIYwithAshley
      @DIYwithAshley  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1.5 yards of the main fabric and 1.5 yards of the coordinating fabric. If you're just using one fabric print then 3 yards total.

    Can you Quilt these if you want? I want to use the fusible, not 80/20, easier for me, thank you

    • @DIYwithAshley
      @DIYwithAshley  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can quilt them. You would just need to measure out your squares and seam allowances so that the finished piece is the same size as the dimensions you need to cut in the video.

    • @maxi1049
      @maxi1049 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      DIY with Ashley thank you so much! Never really know what batting to use inside and also, some say wash fabric first,, others say no, so I didn’t wash mine🙄 But gonna try to quilt anyway, thanks , love your videos ❤️

    • @DIYwithAshley
      @DIYwithAshley  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always recommend washing your fabric first because some fabrics shrink a lot.
