    In the tutorial, what size did you cut the fabric for the placements? Love your instructions btw!

    • @hooked-on-sewing
      @hooked-on-sewing  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Rather than telling you what size to cut your fabric, I give recommendations so you can customize the size to fit your needs. Those recommended sizes are:
      11″x14″
      12″x16″
      12″x18″
      14″x18″
      My placemats were 12"x18"
      Hope this helps!!

    These look so easy and fun! How do they hold up after multiple washes without quilting?

    • @hooked-on-sewing
      @hooked-on-sewing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine have held up really well. I’ve been using them for a couple years now and they e been washed many times.

    When top stitching is done, the seams roll from the bulk underneath. How do I prevent this?

    • @hooked-on-sewing
      @hooked-on-sewing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A couple of things could help. One, you could cut your batting 1” smaller than your fabric. Then when you stitch it together, you eliminate the extra bulk. A second option is to be sure and trim your seams to no more than 1/4”. And the third idea is to add two or three rows of topstitching. I like to stitch about 1/8” away from the edge and then add one or two more rows of topstitching that are each about 1/4” apart. I hope this helps!!

      Hi, Debbie. I cut mine 15”x19”, so the finished size is 14x18.

    Hi Pam. I just found your channel, and I love your work! That placemat fabric is beautiful (both sides). Do you recall what it is. Thanks

    • @hooked-on-sewing
      @hooked-on-sewing  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t recall the name, but the fabric was purchased at JOANN Fabrics. Last I visited, they still had the fabric.

    Can you use just fleece in-between the fabrics?

    • @hooked-on-sewing
      @hooked-on-sewing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I would think you could, but just keep in mind that different types of fabrics shrink differently. You'll definitely want to pre-wash your fabrics to minimize shrinkage.

    You moved your camera so fast we couldn’t see the stitches. Slow it down if you’re showing your work. How can we see that if you zoom away before we could even look. 🤷‍♀️ You have a good tutorial but I can’t see the work.
