Well it can get pretty boring as a solo traveler and mulling about by yourself, just needs to settle and find a lady friend and family, or just go to the bars every afternoon with the other expats. Some alone time good though, wouldn't want to be traveling in a group all the time either.

Yeah it's nice to travel to different parts of Thailand but totally agree with you that you don't really need much more when you're around Bangkok, Pattaya, Koh Chang, Koh Samet and Hau Hin. This area gives you everything that you need and it's all easy to travel to. I'm just doing Bangkok and Pattaya keeping it nice and easy.
