Omg thank you for bringing Chengdu’s amazing Sweet Water Noodles into this sphere! They are such an underrated gem of Chengdu eats and as a native myself but living overseas for most of my life I crave these all the time and lament not being able to find these or replicate them as authentically as possible (lack of access to the oil and the type of soy sauce). Anyone going to Chengdu must try these! 🤤

Those are the thickest noodles I've ever seen. A specialized shop that only serves one dish but has managed to become so successful, you know their food is the real deal. Also i love Chef Lucas, more Chef lucas BA!

洞子口张老二凉粉 is the name of the restaurant mentioned in the vid. I don't live in chengdu myself so you guys can just copy paste this on Google maps (use hongkong sim card and you can access the apps outside of China. Most travel agencies sell them) or, ig, baidu maps app when you're in China

fyi tian mian jiang means sweet flour sauce since its starched to thicken , not necessarily noodle sauce as this sauce is traditionally used in many dishes

I think my favourite thing about chef Lucas is his ability to explain technique. You explain everything thoroughly and respectfully.
Lucas needs to release a video every week just talking about a single Chinese dish. It would probably be my favorite thing on TH-cam.

This was my absolute favorite dish when I was in Chengdu last year!! So simple but so delicious.
This looks amazing. My grandma in the midwest made noodles like this but with chicken broth and bits of meat. Every family meal had them.
