I have heard people say that Emma is too young to perform this song, because she has not yet experienced the tragedy of life's experience required to give meaning to the lyrics. Oh how I disagree. Emma already in her young life has experienced more pain and suffering than most people will in a full life span. She most certainly can relate to this song, and that is clear from the intense emotional impact she gives to the performance of it. Every performance Emma gives comes from deep within her. That is her greatest talent. That is why we love her.

I'm glad you recognise that she is legendary, but I suspect it will be a while, if ever before Emma goes into the pop culture, with the restrictions imposed by being on feeding pumps for 22 hours a day, she's very selective about what she chooses to sing, and for the next 12 months, her focus will be on Andre Rieu's world tour, for me, his gentle yet strong pressure on her to perform to her highest ability will be a huge help in building to the next levels of the ladder to stardom, and the love and support of his orchestra, the extended family, will give her the strength and security she will need to achieve all that Andre knows she's capable of, her dream has absolutely come true, in ways that even she didn't anticipate, her first single LAAT MIJ EEN VLINDER ZIJN , let me be a butterfly was an expression of her life, and with the sub titled version, th-cam.com/video/gYu86yIM8i4/w-d-xo.html
You need to see the translation on screen (it's in this video) to understand the deep emotion, it's every bit as emotional as Voila, especially as she sings the section, 2:04 to 2:30, 'if only for a day, or even for a count of ten, I'd just like to live as another', and you will then see a gentle shake of her head, the pain in her eyes, the recognition of the awful daily grinding pain and reality of her situation, and then her head goes down to silence for a moment.
Then she rises, physically and in the song she soars to an even greater height, as much as to say, 'This is NOT going to beat me, or define me, I WILL rise above it', an incredibly emotional moment, it was written just for her, an incredibly deep expression of her dream.
Andre has seen that drive and determination in her, and will gently push her to achieve that goal, and it's going to be wonderful to see it happening, I can't think of a safer pair of hands to guide her into an incredible future, but I think we can be fairly certain that pop won't be high on Emma's list of favourites for some time to come.

You mentioned a comparison to Mahria Carey. She did sing Hero earlier at the Liberation concert at Margraten War cemetary. eventhough the quality of sound is not as good it is an impressive song at a venue where still over 8000 American WO2 soldiers are burried.
