Still capable of breaking every speed limit if you’re so inclined. By your example Why didn’t you just buy a cb400, plenty powerful for the road. Do you drive a car more powerful than a Suzuki ignis? If so why? …. You get my point. I’m a qualified engineer , the v4 platform always fascinated me. It was a dream to buy one . I enjoy riding it. I think it is stunning looking . I can afford it . It’s not a waste of time, I spend 6 hours a day sat and sun in the saddle. I’m not part of any biker group so I’m bragging to none who cares 😂 I have of course opened her up on the motorway (live in Europe, the autobahn is awesome) but for all of 10 seconds. I own a 2023 XSR 700. It's my first bike, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Last year, I went on a big tour of about 2000 km (around 1200 miles, I think). It was comfortable and amazing to ride, with enough power for the journey. This week, I'll start another tour from Germany to Tunisia. However, my problem is that when I ride with friends who have bikes like the Panigale, Super Duke, etc., I feel a lack of power. Sure, I could just avoid riding with that type of rider, but in some traffic situations, I notice the lack of power too. On the other hand, I'm afraid that I might miss this fun and easy-to-ride bike if I switch to the new MT-09. The XSR 700 was the perfect choice for my first motorcycle, and now I'm unsure about what I want. Your video only made my decision harder.
I just picked up an immaculate 2022 mt07 same color as yours on marketplace with 1100 miles for $6500, i get my endorsement at the end of the month and I'm so excited to start riding. I love these videos man
I’ve owned 3 different 07s, current is absolutely kitted out for the track. Owned an fz09 and an mt09sp as well. Love the cp2 engine and love the cp3 as well. 07 is a great street bike I don’t know of another bike as fun as this bike on back roads and canyon ripping
I just took my MT07 on a 2,000 mile road trip around Oregon, Idaho, Montana. I fucking LOVE this bike. I truly feel like it's the jack of all trades. Fun engine. Perfect commuter in city traffic. Cheap cost of ownership. Very easy to work on and mod. Unrivaled reliability. Reasonably comfortable ergos. The only thing getting old, for me, is the suspension. But honestly that's totally fixable and it's not even that expensive.
@@Paramoto959 Nice! One more thing to note, then. I thought the seat on this bike was super uncomfortable for my first 2 years of ownership. This sound stupid, but I realized all I had to do was scoot back lol. I'm so used to dirtbikes where you sit very forward in the seat. The MT07 seat is dramatically more comfortable if you scoot back so your tailbone is basically touching the pillion.
@@monawoka97 totally agree, need to move around spread the butt pressure. I have a Corbin seat coming. Super excited, but it probably won’t be here for my road trip 🙄
I've never had a supersport before, I always wanted one when I started riding but the insurance was so expensive for me at the time. So once I learned the fundamentals on my beginner bike, I opted for the naked version instead of the supersport I wanted for my second bike, which was a Honda 599, and shortly after the 919 because the engine blew up on my 599 (it was raced pretty hard before I bought it). I instantly fell in love with the torquey tuning/gearing and have just never felt the need to buy a supersport. I've ridden an R6 before and I hated how I had to wind it up so much to get to the powerband, I'd rather just have the low end torque always available. The only reason I'd want a bigger sport bike would be for the fairings for comfort/wind protection on long highway trips. In that case I still wouldn't want the super aggressive position on a supersport, I'd want something sporty and fairly powerful, but more relaxed and a little more upright. I still don't mind somewhat aggressive seating positions, I used to have clubman handlebars on my 919 because it felt better to me and I didn't find it very uncomfortable. And even then, I'd only buy it if I had nothing better to spend my extra money on, because I'd still keep my naked bike, no way I'm getting rid of that.
Still new / short ass rider (5'-9") - was looking for a MT-09, but after listening to this gonna change focus to look at a MT-07! Just sold my first bike (2019 Honda CRB500R) after 3 years so the MT-07 also seems to be a more natural progression... as much as I love the sport bike look, over the age of 40 they are not fun to ride more than a couple of hours as a time (even one as upright as the beginner friendly CBR!). No regrets though, was a perfect first bike.
I had a 22 mt 07 as my starter bike. And I upgraded to a 2024 rebel 1100 touring a cop hit me and totalled the bike. Now that I am looking at bikes again I was stuck between an mt 09 or another mt 07. And I decided on a 2024 mt 07. @@Paramoto959 hey there. I’m not sure about exact numbers. I do know that in 3rd gear going 50 mph you can still clutch up a wheelie. It also pulls like hell in every gear. And the acceleration out a corner is greatly improved. You will lose some of your top end speed. Do some research for yourself. It’s a great mod for sure.
The real lack on these bikes in that they are terrible for grocery getting (no storage) and terrible for sustained highway speed travel (no protection, poor stability in wind, cheap suspension, no cruise control). If you only want a weekend bike to ride around on good days around for 30 minutes, they work great. So yea, that's why it reminds you of a dirt bike.

Worried that falling while carrying IWB would seriously mess me up, on the other hand I don't really like the idea of off body carry.
The only think i've seen about the MT07 that is kind of bad. Is the fuel capacity it have. As i don't own one i don't really know if it's really somethinh to worry about but idk its annoying having to go get gas everyday
You're NOT gonna want to take long highway trips on it (or use it as a serious commuter) so fuel quantity is adequate. I wish they did away with all that plastic around the tank and make the tank the "actual size" of all that space it takes up, but I guess budget bikes get plastic instead of hydroformed aluminum or even a nice stamped larger tank.
