Had to at the time with all the articulation. Now I am running 38x13.5x17 with RCVs and chromoly axles. It's all set up! Full build here: revkit.com/az-rubicon/
Thanks, they are two very different set-ups for sure. Mopar is fine, it's still a Jeep but if you want to tackle serious terrain then the MC setup is the way to go.
This makes my back tingle. Im waiting on my appointment at the end of December for a very similar set up on my jku. Doing the 4.5” GC with the adams 1350 driveshaft. Soo excited. Amazing that it took you from 26” to 39
For the JLU MC doesn't do a 4.5. I hay have done it but the 3.5 makes a LOT of difference on the trail. Places I used to struggle I walk through now. The next project will be regear, 37's and trusses on the front.
@@AZRubicon1 after watching your video a few more times (lol) decided to change my original order and go with the rocksports first, and in time if I need the extra 'ticulation I can upgrade the shocks down the road.
@@FrankPapadakis I will tell you the ride on my JLU is amazing with the rocksports. The 'ticulation is honestly, ridiculous compared to the MOPAR lift w/ Fox shocks. I think you will be happy. Eventually I will move to other shocks I assume but the rocksports' ride is nice and they are CHEAP to replace if needed. Good choice IMHO!
I didn't think the stock Rubicon wheels would work on the MC Game-Changer 3.5" lift due to the stock wheel backspacing. But, this obviously proves that wrong. Are you running spacers to get the wheels to clear?
No wheel spacers on my rig. Since this was filmed, I did change the wheels and they have offset. You can see the new wheels and tires in my profile pic. I ran the stock wheels and 35's for about a year before I went bigger. I still have them and switch them out in the summers when I don't wheel.
Getting this same setup and from the same shop. What I want to know is what setup do you have on the front bumper to hold the HiLift and what for a hitch/stinger is hanging off the back protecting your spare from ledges?
Good eye! Tell Andrew I said hello. He also did my RCVs. Front bumper mount is a hood mount that I used from Amazon. Use one of the existing holes I OEM bumper and drill the other and there you have it! The stinger is my own invention. Harbor freight tow hitch that I turned upside down and cut the flat portion off. Drilled a hole, welded a plate to a #8 bolt and made it adjustable up and down. I keep it tight when crawling so the tire doesn't bounce and the gate is still perfect. DM me and I will email you close up pic
Which sway bar disconnects are you using in the MC demonstration? did they come with the kit? How much of a pita to hookup/disconnect? Jeep looks great!
No disconnects needed they provide longer links in the kit. I have never disconnected them and have done some insane stuff. Now I am running Coops STT Pro 37x13.5x17 and it climbs like a goat!
Are u running 35s on stock rims with the 3.5 gc? I got in my lift today. But reading some online and a few people are saying i cant run 35s on stock rims with the 3.5 gc. Any advice would be great. Keep up the awesome videos. A+
I am indeed. Make sure you flex it and go lock to lock. Have the right amount of bump stops and you should be fine. I ran it this way for a year before I went to 37's and new wheels.
God I want this setup for my JK. I’m gonna have to save for a while, I’m getting antsy to just lift my JK with anything. I want the hood stuff though and I’m just gonna wait. It will be worth it I’m sure.
Best purchase I have ever made. These are 35's but I just put 37's on and new wheels. With what I do I'd never do spacers as recommended by my guy who does all my work. I have not had the 37s on the trail and they are mounted on Nemesis 111 wheels. I need to flex it next week.
Totally your decision. For my setup I don't disconnect the sway bar manually, on the JL Rubicon I just hit the button. I have never disconnected it an have a ton of flex. Hope this helps.
Actually, I did not in the video. I had it done months before to help make my decision and, if I remember correctly it only got me like 5" more. The two lifts are not even in the same category in terms of performance. I have done things with the MC lift that I seriously struggled on with the Mopar
I put the Metalcloak Dual Rate on my 2021 rubicon and wanted to keep stock tires for a little bit and switch out for some 35’s later on aftermarket 4.5 bs wheels. My front outboard shock extension bracket hit the tire so I can’t use them. Are you using wheel spacers? Thank you
Did you put it in yourself? I had mine put in by a custom Jeep shop, no issues with anything hitting anything. Passenger or driver? Could they be side specific?
@@AZRubicon1 I did the install with my buddy at his garage. He does this stuff for a business. I’ve been on the phone a few times with Metalcloak. My only choice is to use wheel spacers on my stock wheels or aftermarket wheels with 4.5in back space. I didn’t want to have my tires stick out past the fender. At full turn the bracket just barely rubs on the stock tire. So I’m running the shocks in the stock location until I figure it out. So I’m guessing you are not using wheel spacers
