    Hi, useful video as always. What about adding let say reverb to the drums (I just switched from RC500 to RC600 and reverb on drums was very simple to use). Thks ;)

    My issue is reverb and looping. I make ambient music. I want dense long verb on my vocals before and after looping. Input verb tail will be cut off on loops endings, so input verb in my opinion is completely useless. Track verb seems to not work at all on the monitor input vocals, I.e before anything is looping. which makes sense, It’s only going to work on a loop that is playing. so what I want is essentially a reverb send, i.e. the kind of send you would have in DAW. When I turn it on, my input vocals have reverb, when I record a loop the loop vocals have the reverb, but the reverb is not recorded to the loop, so the tail is not going to get cut off when the loop restarts.

      @@AdamFBuchanan personally, I use the rec>dub option when recording, which can fix this issue depending on how long the reverb trails are. But it's not ideal for everyone.

    • @AdamFBuchanan
      @AdamFBuchanan หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RossGallagherMusicthat would mean when you finish whatever your doing(multiple dubs or not) you then have to always wait for the tail ton finish’s before turning off dub (and also can’t record any new track loop that uses same input)?

    Hi Ross, thanks for the video! Just received my RC600 and I'm trying to set the fx as you show here in the video. But my FX 4 doesn't do anything. I've set it up as you explained, but the button doesn't switch on (or off) the effect block, it does nothing when I tap it. Any suggestion? could the button be assigned to something else from factory that would prevent it being used as this fx switch? Cheers!

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Laura, I don't believe it's possible to apply FX across the entire system, but what I do recommend is to create a template you're happy with containing all your FX, and then 'copy and paste' this template to your desired memories. If you haven't yet looked at the RC Editor, it's a great piece of software that will allow you to do many things you can't do just with the unit. Including copying assigns, FX, and settings to multiple/all memories, with just the click of a mouse. This might be a useful tool for you. Hope this helps. Ross

  • @wiebertjeen

    Hi, I've got a question: I use microphone 1 and a specific reverb and delay as fx and have it all go through the headphone output (which my band uses for the full in ear mix). Is it possible to send out the fx without the dry signal to another output as well? I'm using a splitter before going into the Roland RC600 so the soundengineer has the dry vocal but I want to send him the applied fx so he can blend it in while still hearing the dry vocal through the headphone output.

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @wiebertjeen a good workaround for this would be to use an internal FX loop in the RC. For example; run into Inst 1L and route this to designated tracks and to its own output for the dry signal e.g sub out 1L. Then use that output to send to the sound engineer. You could then run sub out 1R with the same signal, back in to Inst 1R, and route that to tracks and through the FX you wish to use.
      This is all assuming you have enough inputs and outputs available, but it could be worth looking into! Ross

    Thank for this video! What if you what your compression assigned to your inst 1 and inst 2? Bacause maybe you have a layer of bass and then you play the guitar? Would you need to use a track effect for the bass and then input for the guitar? Thanks a lot!

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment. You can apply Input FX (up to 4 at a time) to any instrument or microphone and then these FX will be recorded to the track. The track FX are only applied after the loop has been recorded which means the Track FX won't take effect when being performed live. Hope this helps,
      Ross

      @RossGallagherMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! There's always things to talk about with this unit, so plenty more videos to come. If I understand correctly, you'd like to set up a pedal to play a kick sound or something along those lines?

    Question: my headphone output has a very poor quality. I make sure i have < 100 output, my input (guitar) < 100.
    Once i record a loop, the quality on the headphone is poor (and very low volume), the output whatsoever on my amp is of good quality
    Any chance you had a similar issue? Am I missing something basic?

      Hi there, I can't say that I've had that issue myself. Is the quality of the recording poor, or just through the headphones? Have you tested another set of headphones by chance? Also, perhaps try to adjust the input/output levels to see if that's causing an issue. Ross

    So if a plug a guitar, a bass and a mic into the rc600, assigned to track1-2-3, play with the others simultaneously, can each member have 4 different effects on, or only 1 each and a “spare”?

    I’m so confused - what is the difference between track A and track 1? And why did you mention 4 input fx, A B C and D, when on the machine it only says A B and C (no D)?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tracks are labelled as numbers (1-6) and FX are labelled A-C for input FX and the same for track FX. There are 4 FX, so you can access FX D, but due to the layout of pedals on the unit, you can only turn on or off FX A-C by default. Ross

    What if you want dynamics for Mic 1 AND Mic 2...... but not the instruments?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could send the Dynamics Input FX just to your Mic input via the INSERT option shown in the video. If you want it going to both Mics, you'd have to use 2 different FX, unless you go to your INPUT settings and turn on Stereo Link for the Mic inputs. This just means that your mic inputs will act as one and whatever you do to one, will also affect the other. Hope this helps. Ross

    Thanks for this. Have you had any glitches when trying to insert an input effect on all inputs? I had a similar set up as per your video inserting a harmony input effect just on the Mic 1 (which worked). But when I tried to insert a reverb on all inputs, the reverb effect switched off (despite the display lighting up the reverb effect to indicate it's activated). I dialled it back to insert on just one instrument input (guitar) and the reverb came on again. I'm sure this was working across all inputs, but it seems like sometimes it flicks back to not working. Any clues?

    My impression is that if you could speak twice as slow and add an example of actual use of what you are talking about, the effectiveness of your guide to the viewer can increase. On the other hand speedy talking has an advantage of not making audience to fall asleep... It's a matter of speaker personality as well... you are not feel to me like a boring person :)

    Thanks for sharing. One important thing to note: you are talking about sending effects, but you are inserting effects, not sending them. This is common basic terminology related to mixing. Send insert effect is non-sense. You insert effect to a track/input or you send effect from a channel. Effect is inserted OR sent. So when you are talking about sending insert effect you are either technically wrong and its very confusing. I was expecting that its possible to send effect on RC 600, but its possible only to insert effect ... fix at least video title "how to assign insert FX..." or "how to insert FX to selected ..." :) Thanks again, regards!
