Actually, you won’t break SS Soundwave’s head. His face (including the ears, that’s why it’s normally drab grey) is made of a very, very stiff rubbery material.
I really like the studio series but I am bummed that laserbeak isn't his own figure that can transform and stuff, I get why they didn't do that because it wouldn't be proportional to soundwave but it would have been cool none the less.
You could fold his hand into the arm so it kinda looks like a gun? I mean that's how it was in the video game, they all had their weapons kinda built into their gun.
i like the transformation sequence of the old guy. rebot mode might not be pretty, but transformation actually looks fun and interesting. idc how either mode looks, because the thing that defines them has to be fun regardless.
We actually did get lockable mech tech with a few figures such as the voyager shockwave. Speaking of which, do you plan on reviewing that sick studio series shockwave?
For sure the Studio Series is the best... I think studio series figures are so beautiful figures! Some times quality and pop off parts issues, but the esthetic is awesome!!!
It's not the easiest to do but you can also lock in the DOTM Voyager Shockwave's Mechtech gimmick in the alternate mode. Love the new SS Soundwave. Looks fantastic.
Wish the SS had some of the blue ring highlights like on the deluxe. Also wish the SS had the visor on the head. (I know it’s less accurate, but, c’mon. It’s Soundwave.) Also also, why doesn’t SS Soundwave have his twin guns?

recent studio series have absolutely failed in my mind. well, most. not all, but most. they made satellite soundwave, and holy shit its AWFUL!!!!! you know how to transform it by one glance! its horrid!
Eh, I wouldn't say so. I think they're about the same. Dark of the Moon never was known for having robust, solid toys like, say, the first movie or some ROTF figures.

The only problem with the studio series deluxes is that they're too small
Actually their small because of the scaling and it was more accurate with this new sizes.
