Belated Merry Christmas Paul and a Happy New Year for next week. The use of brick and concrete is very interesting in Thailand, compared to the brick exteriors, steel frames and internal gyprock plaster boards we use in Australia. Assume it’s better for insulation?
At the end of the day the view is the view , you can't do much about it, those rooms seem to be higher than whats needed, they look to be as high as the house car port, i know higher is cooler but is their a reason behind it ?,. Aircon units (in and out) mounted on the back walls i take it ? extending the toilet/old pump room along the wall towards the house will enclose the whole area in, no worries about the limited view available, you could have incorporated the pump room into the toilet block area, ditched the gym which they never seem to be used much, and the pump room and bagged either 2 small accommodation rooms or a proper double size family room without the need for adjoining door,.(more revenue earning potential, you being a canny scotsman shouldn't overlook that ! The only major thing is issan isn't everones first choice for spending time in, ok you've got the mekong running by but its hardly the riviera,.I've followed the mekong down from north to south and stayed at chiang sen, chiang khong, chiang khan, nong khai, etc, its a good 3/4 day trip, also do you have enough car parking available for guests ? good luck with the venture in 2025, cheers ,.(ps), i'm only saying what i see, you need to get some money back from this investment, no f&f freebies ,.
Hi, thanks for comment, I was surprised with height too, yrs I believe it's a cooling thing, a big air space between ceiling and roof, AC is on back wall, sun will never hit the back, the gym is for me. The water system is gpi.g at the end beside the gym, again out the sun, if I'm bring honest I'm considering not renting put as holiday rentals, don't need the income, it was mote for something to keep us occupied, that's still up for debate. The pool is for me too, Thais visiting here do so for temples and festivals. Pool Like gym won't get used by them.
Personally the resort thing totally kills the dream for me, having random people around I’d hate. I’ve not been on the channel for abit I thought it was a private residence this build from the start

Best wishes for your resort in 2025 😅
Hi, thanks.
Good luck with it but in my opinion you've tried to squeeze to many rooms in a small back garden
It will look just Like a pool villa when done, I didn't expect the rooms to be so big..
