@@speedude0164 That's the text in the cutscene for collecting the cobalt translator. There's a glitch that allows you to collect an infinite number of translators by canceling the end of the cutscene. The max% category contains collection of the cobalt translator repeatedly, so the text shows up on screen over and over. You can imagine how twitch chat would react.
Binging the SGDQ 2019 playlist rn and, even though I've never played this game, this run was supremely entertaining the whole way through. Great run by a great runner, and an excellent couch.
The hole in the ceiling is awesome. Can’t believe it was discovered so late in the game’s life. I want to try doing these out of bounds skips. I love the game so much but I’ve always been scared to do it before recently.
20:10 Claris I’m assuming receives a knock back damage push, from the bot shooting at her while she is scan dashing causing the momentum to push her all the way inside the screw attack chamber.
It's really fun! Ive been casually running prime 1 and 2 for about 3 years in my free time, and there's definitely a learning curve. But still, once you get a trick like IBBFAF or Grand Abyss, it feels so good.
Not that they'd want to find out. But what would happen, if after you collected all of the items in the game, you returned to the first Dark Samus cut scene? Would you lose all of what you collected?
It probably only applies to the normal items the cutscene removes, i do know that if you ils and go kill guardians and pick up their drops, like space jump guardian, and then trigger the cutscene, you lose the items and they're just permanently gone
Welp I'm mad. I was so excited because durring my current randomizer run i found out you don't need boost ball to kill quadraxis and i wanted to see it that info was viable for speedrunners but A, you never loose boost, and B, you don't even fight quadraxis!
"Going through doors doors what's called a transition-" "Yeah, fortunately it's something I have a lot of experience with..." I didn't miss your joke, Claris. ✊🏳️⚧️
What on earth happened there? I'm not familiar with speedruns of this game and nothing looked any stranger than anything else I'd seen up to then--and all the commentators seemed to be too busy laughing to actually explain what happened.
She was supposed to naturally land on the ground. But she had enough speed that she managed to bonk into the platform above her. This increased speed could have major impact on the route if it could be reproduced as in other areas the extra speed could make some other skips possible!
So basically Echoes has a sideways speed cap that prevents dashing like you do in Prime 1, but since Claris took a damage boost from the Rezbits and locked her speed with R, well, she went flying. It's now possible to do them without anything tho because of a new way of dashing was found.
There's a 1 frame window where you can morph to keep the ability to screw attack underwater. If you miss the window you gotta fight Alpha Blogg the slow way.
@@Chadius You can go back into the gravity boost room and try again but the timesave is pretty small. After two or three tries you end up losing time so I think most runners just try to YOLO the air underwater.
Wow, a speedrun done by a trans woman and the comments are NOT filled with transphobic hate? This must be an alternate universe or something! And as a trans woman myself, I couldn't be happier! Finally I don't see an abundance of obsessed sheeple repeating the same old tired talking points about trans people that they have no knowledge of. Anyway... The run was AMAZING! Claris really did an exceptional job here! I also loved her initial Metroid Prime run back in like 2014! So it's nice to see that even though she's been through a lot, she hasn't let it get to her and she keeps on running the games! Really great job!
Wonderful run! I’ve done never done any runs myself, it I certainly want to try now. The not sure who all the couch members are, but some are rather annoying :/ I much preferred the professionalism (at least to me, it seemed) of the prime run
I feel like they could have benefitted from explaining some things more, I’m familiar with the game so I can understand their sarcasm, but it could be a little misleading to unfamiliar viewers. They were enjoyable to me though, definitely a different couch dynamic compared the first one
Explain, I've played this game like twenty times, and I never found a single one of these glitches, I've found most of their games (besides odyssy and botw pretty stable, even dread is stable, it has a few bugs, but most of the sequence breaks are intensional! Look, I'm no nintendo fanboy, for example, I think all of the zelda games are kinda trash, and I just don't enjoy 3d platformer, but it is hard to deny that compared to other triple a games, their games aren't as much of a broken mess at launch.

I really hope the trilogy is ported to the switch, I have it on the Wii U but I’d love to play metroid prime on the go
They should really just port everything they released on Wii U to Switch. Both HD Zeldas and the Prime Trilogy at the very least...
But how does it will work? since in the wii the control was made entirely por the wii mote as a pointer device, but in switch there's none of that
Rotoplax Just make the controls act like Splatoon 2 and use sticks with gyro assist.
Rotoplax The switch controllers have IR sensors like the Wii co troller
@@rotoplax9309 if they made zelda's skyward sword they can do trilogy

This run rules. Couch was super fun, the run itself was nuts. 10/10 would go out of bounds again
Thank you!

You are correct, that can also be described as a Damage Boost
1:18:27 "why are you on my couch right now?" my favorite moment of the run by far
Never knew how broken the Screw Attack was.
I knew about Emperor Ing 3's knees, but I didn't know about Dark Samus's screw attack weakness. Good job Claris!
This is genuinely making me want to learn how to run Prime 2
It has a bit of a learning curve but Prime 2 runs are pretty cool! I recommend checking out Draconif's any% tutorial if you're still interested.

the trigger for the cutscene disappears after you get to a certain point so sadly we'll never know
Yes.
Yes. This is actually used for Echoes low% runs to get as low of a percentage counter as possible.
@@fletcheranderson6610
Could you skip the point where the cutscene disappears too? Is it known what makes it go?

Felthry Echoes has a sideways speed cap and that dash far exceeded the speed cap somehow.
Same here. Gotta love Echoes
SuperNintendawg I believe so. We’ve never seen it before. Not sure how it could be replicated.

20:08 that scan dash moment was gold xD
@Halcyonacoustic That's correct. Sorry that we didn't explain that too well. Got too carried away by everything that happened.
