Love this! I really want to make an weddig outfit for my friends wedding, and picture it being a maxi skirt with a cute top! Do you have any suggetions on beginner friendly cute tops? 😊
Of course! So glad you enjoyed it! :) Sorry to hear that the audio isn't working great on your end, I haven't been able to replicate the issue on my end but I'll keep an eye out if anyone else has this issue. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! It's actually a dress that I made! I have a full video on it (and a discount code for the pattern). Here's the link if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/w8o_QkAlQ9c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=w6P0Wj49ZwQmDavh
You could add a ruffle to the bottom (so the back would look kind of like the front of the Cassie top). That would be pretty easy because you could just make a rectangle that measures the bottom of the Georgia top times 1.5 by however long you want it to be. Then hem the short ends, hem one long end, ruche the other long end and attach that to the hem of the Georgie top, letting the short ends stop on the back ties with enough length to still let it make a bow. Alternatively, you could taper the bottom edge of the rectangle so that instead of having two short sides they come to a point and then you can join them up with the back ties so that it's more of a seamless transition in the back of the shirt. ...hope that makes sense😅
This is such a great idea and definitely something that has crossed my mind since making it. This might have to be a future project of mine. The suggestions below are great!
I did! It’s actually a dress, and it’s a little sneak preview for an upcoming video haha so I’m glad you like it and make sure to stay tuned it’s coming soon! 😊❤️❤️
The first one that comes to mind is the Olympia dress by Thrills and Stitches that I made fairly recently. It’s a high boat neck type top with a drop waist so depends on your style. There’s a beginner friendly NewLook pattern in my first pattern list video that has a high neck as well but it’s backless. It’s the N6731. I don’t have any other recommendations that I’ve made myself unfortunately but Etsy has a great search engine for patterns if you put in “high neck dress sewing pattern” I bet you’d get some options you like! Hope that helps some and thank you for watching! 😊❤️
I've made the willow dress and it's a fun make with one caveat: I have a large chest so I had to space the rows of casing to fit my upper/under bust... The problem is because I don't have boobs on my back (lol), it's just a ton of saggy/poofy fabric that's very unflattering. I made a second version that attempted to correct the problem but still not my favorite garment.
This is great to know! Thank you for sharing! If I do end up trying it I’ll definitely keep this in mind! I have some ideas on how to fix it, but no idea if they’d really work haha.

@@CaitMakes ooh it’s so cute! Definitely going to give this a go!
Is there a pattern hack for the Georgie Top to make less cropped? 😅 it’s so beautiful but I couldn’t wear it without a bit more coverage

Do you have any dress patterns with higher cuts? I have a surgery scar on my chest that makes me feel self conscious so I can’t do the lower cuts
