Ooh, thank you Kate. I wasn't expecting a video and this was such fun. Good to see so many were really size inclusive. There are lots of us bigger girls out there. Wishing you all the best for 2025. ❤
Always happy to see a new vid posting from you! The Nepheline blouse was a really great pattern this year. Wouldn’t have seen it but for your post. Made 3 of them trying the collar variations. Love them !
Great video thank you Kate. So interesting to see what has done well this year. FYI The Matchy Matchy trousers link is missing from the list.... off to check them out now and the Nepheline shirt! I wonder how many will be on here again at the end of 2025!
I always enjoy your videos and absolutely love keeping up with the latest in Indy patterns. You say that "loads of people have made them"....do you mean that loads of people have bought these,? Just wondered how you know people have actually made these? I actually do pay attention to the section of your site for each pattern where people can post their own makes and comment on how great the directions, and ease of construction are. I would love for you to encourage people to keep doing that!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Kate xxx um, how have I not seen that amazing Notches pattern???? going straight to your website now....thanks so much for a great year of enabling 😘😘😘
The only one of these i have are the archer pants, which i loved. My only issue is they were quite short! And im only 5'5". Would live to try almost all of these patterns. And agree, jenna shirt is THE shirt pattern :)
Interesting. I was quite surprised with both pairs of trousers. I only have one pattern and that is the Julia sweatshirt although I haven't made it yet. I dismissed most of them because boxy things look horrible on me. I made the patina blouse and then put fisheye darts in.
There seems to be a trend toward less fitting details in modern patterns. It solves the problem of trying to get shoulders to fit on women's clothing. In the past, when women bought patterns by bust size, the problem was that their shoulders were not always proportional. They are more forgiving, as long as they're made in drapey fabrics. I don't understand why anyone would like the bow-legged look of the Matchy Matchy Archer pants, though. The flexibility of the Judy pattern makes a lot of sense. It would fit a lot of body shapes well. The Bestie bag pattern reminds me of a bag I made years ago from the top of a pair of velveteen jeans.
Those!!! Are the top ten??? I wonder how many purchased patterns actually got made. There's only one that isn't "trendy"... Well maybe 2. The Jumper and the first shirt. I wasnt inspired by any of them... Especially the first one. Yikes that one shirt/dress will be relegated to the back of the closet in /25. There's many variations similar to the Jumper. I rarely sew trendy. When I sew anything it usually lasts forever. I've sewn too many trendy in my life and don't do it anymore. It's a waste of my time really. I buy trendy and sew classic. My closet is probably 85 percent memade except slacks, jeans and yoga pants, shorts, cargos fitness bottoms etc.... Basically most bottoms I buy.
Fantastic to have vids over this holiday time. Top 10 of all time would also be very cool to see!
Brilliant! Thankyou so much Kate, all those patterns are brilliant! Obviously 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Nephaline blouse is my absolute favorite from this top 10. I hope 2025 brings you and yours many delights!
This is a lovely surprise during twixmas. I'm with you, I love to see what everyone is making. I honestly thought the Paynter Jacket would be No. 1.

I love the bow legged look lol
Lovely. Only 9 patts in the description box, one pants pattern left out.
