- WordPress displays your latest posts as the homepage by default. But what if you want to edit the content and design on the homepage? Or if you already have created a new homepage and want to assign that page to be your website home page? Here's the correct way to change the homepage settings in WordPress.
A home page (also called homepage or start page) is the main web page of a website. The term may also refer to the start page shown in a web browser when the application first opens. The home page is often located at the root of the website's domain, like divimundo.com/ or elegantthemes.com/
Regardless of you use Divi, Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg or any other page builder or WordPress theme, it can be a bit confusing how to edit the homepage after installing WordPress. The default homepage displays a blog feed with the sample post "Hello World!" that is created by WordPress. But if you want to create a custom homepage and not just a basic blog site, you have to change the WordPress settings.
How to edit your homepage in WordPress, step by step:
1. Go to your WordPress dashboard
2. Head over to Settings » Reading
3. The first default setting is "Your homepage displays Your latest post". Change "Your latest posts" to "A static page"
4. Choose the page that you want to use as a homepage
5. Click "Save Changes" and preview in frontend.
Now you have changed your WordPress homepage! You can edit the content using a pagebuilder like Divi, Elementor, Gutenberg, WPBakery, Beaver Builder, Bricks, Breakdance, Brizy, Zion or Visual Composer.

Hi. Thank you for the great tutorial. For some reason. My static home page will not update with new page I created. Still showing old home page? Can you help me fix it?
It could be a cache issue. Make sure to clear both the website cache and browser cache and make a hard refresh.
Did you solve this issue? I’m having the same problem
@@ThatDadCarlo The only reason I can think of is cache (server, website or local) or custom code or plugin that overrides the default WordPress behaviour.
Thanks you Bro
You're very welcome!
Thanks
You're very welcome!
Why isn’t the static option showing up on my reading settings ?
Make sure that you have at least one (1) page that is Published (not just a Draft). Also, make sure that your user role is set to Administrator. If the Static Page option still doesn’t display, there are probably some limitations caused by a theme, plugin or custom code.
That's okay man, but tell me how to convert the theme template page into homepage because my website home page is created through that theme template.
That depends on what theme you are using.
Thanks
You’re very welcome
