    I just want to say to anyone reading this, this guy is the man! He is all about helping others and would take his shirt off his back for someone in a heartbeat. To go through all that and turn it into something positive is incredibly admirable.

    My husband ran into one of his really good childhood friends, and he said to him man we need to start hanging out. we drink every weekend like a case of beer a day." He showed us all they rebate cards he has collected that he gets from krogers for buying cases of beer. He had at least 300 of them, he even kept a journal, so he knew how many he had. I knew right then it's OK to say hi but no hanging out because I can't be around drinking, especially to that degree. I always find myself wanting to drink, so my husband said ya no hanging out, just a phone call every once in a while.

    My go to is 93% lean ground turkey when I get bored with jello,, yogurt, shakes, etc. You can turn it into anything with the right spices. Tacos, chili w/no beans, hamburgers wrapped in lettuce, meatloaf with steamed cauliflower, spaghetti with spinach noodles. Montreal steak seasoning, taco seasoning, 2 alarm chili powder mix. Anyway, when I'm wanting something easy on my pancreas but tastes and feels like a real meal, ground turkey is it for me. Thanks for sharing all your stories and advice. Love your channel brother! Keep doing what your doing!

      Thank you! I do exactly the same thing! I just can't eat turkey quite yet. I love ground turkey. I can't even remember the last time I used ground beef. I can't even tell the difference really after I have cooked it. I make sure and really brown the meat and it's just like beef. Thank you so much for sharing!!! You are awesome! God bless

    So true. Also movies. They always show this successful guy in a suit and tie with a six pack drinking away whisky everyday after work. Totally twisted from reality. They are making drinking alcohol into some type of archetype. In my home country Sweden, commercials of alcohol are forbidden on TV until very late night hours. We also have government mandated stores who are only allowed to sell alcohol. Basically monopoly. This however makes people even more desperate and buy more alcohol imo because their closing hours are so weird and also closed during holidays. So people really bunker up in desperation out of scarcity. You are a good man do not forget that ever.

      Thank you!!! You are exactly right! Or they portray the intelligent detective who wakes up in his suit and pours whiskey into his coffee in the morning. You know... the rough manly detective. It's like that here in the US in some states. The state I live in... South carolina... you have to buy liquor from an ABC store and the hours are like 10 to 7pm and closed on Sundays. So.. people will do the same here. A long time ago, you couldn't buy booze at all on Sundays... even beer, nothing. It created a huge black market for it. Tons of bootleggers selling on Sundays back then. Thank you so much! God bless

    You nailed it with this video. Great advice..Anxiety and depression was such a trigger for me. Drinking helped me for a little while temporarily. When I quit I made the mistake of thinking that just stopping the drink would fix my emotional problems, but they were all still there. What quitting did was put me in a place where I could begin to work on those problems.

      So true, I've tried many times but this time feels very different, I really do think I will succeed. Heavy daily drinking for at least 25 years has taken its toll, last year or so I have been trying to cut back and knock it on the head knowing my booze journey has come to an end - it has to or else I will certainly die sooner rather than later.

    Forgot to add. For me, my biggest ever trigger is black coffee. And several cups. Anyone else have that? And my biggest rescuer is eating food. It erases my craving immediately and I can not and have never been able to drink with food or drinking on a full stomach. I quit coffee also…

    Oh gosh triggers, good topic!! They were everywhere over Christmas, but I just look at how far I've come and think I never want to go back to that dark place!
    I'm over 2yrs sober and the only person who really knew how bad I felt was my husband. My drinking ramped up at home during Covid and then it got to drinking every day, then earlier and earlier every day and so on, you know how it goes...
    I thank God every day that I stopped the poison, so I when I get triggered I take a few moments to think of where my life was heading and how I never want to go back there again. Also sober people are so much more interesting than drunks. I was a boring person with limited ideas when I drank, I never want to be that person again.
    I also listen to a lot of podcasts. Do you have any good podcast or book recommendations (if you're ok saying)?
    Thanks for another great video, glad to see that you're feeling a bit better since your procedure. Take good care of yourself :) Sorry v long comment, but thinking about triggers really brought me back!!

      Thank you so much for sharing!!! I really appreciate you going so in depth with it! I know all about covid. That's when mine hit danger level 1 as well.
      As far as podcasts are concerned... I love Joe rogan, Andrew huberman show, lex freedman, the concrete podcast or the Danny Jones show, Stevos podcast... I can't remember the name, tiger belly, 2 bears one cave.
      My favorite podcast is the phone losers of America podcast, or the snowplow show. It's a prank call podcast and it's hilarious! The guy is really intelligent and is really quick on his feet and his prank call ideas are just top notch! Some of the things that he has gotten people to do on there are just out of this world!!! I'll put a link in below to one of the funniest ones he had ever done imo. God bless

    I was supposed to jump off on 01/04/2024. I couldn't do it. I lost my boyfriend and my 24 year-old daughter because I didn't quit. I have a new plan, using the 10/10 taper. My new jump date is 01/17/2024. God help me. Wish I could get a prescription for phenobarbital. That would help immensely

    Today I am making a recipe that has white wine and since it isn’t my choice of alcohol I thought about not doing recipes with it because i might get triggered. I like margaritas and other sweet mixes with vodka. I get triggered by slushy drinks because it was my way of consuming vodka. I’m glad it isn’t a trigger.

    • @liverdisease-qb6rk
      @liverdisease-qb6rk  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there! You can usually substitute vinegar for white wine depending on what it is... juts fyi. Most of the time, the wine is just to deglaze the pan and vinegar works fine. It doesn't work in all cases, but most. Just thought I would share that with u. I understand the slushy drinks and such. I still can't drink sprite because of that. Thank you for sharing! Nice to hear from you again! God bless

    I wouldn’t suggest eating high sugar processed food like substances like jello. That’s not food and there’s no real nutritional value. Processed sugar is a liver toxin. Eat fruit and water rich vegetables. Fruit sugar will not affect your body like processed sugar. Not all sugar is made equally. Dairy is hard to digest, we lack the enzymes to digest it. Whole food plants have been my saving grace for pancreatitis and liver/gallbladder issues. It’s my opinion that these processed foods are a HUGE contributor to dysfunction with these bodily systems (beside alcohol abuse).

    • @liverdisease-qb6rk
      @liverdisease-qb6rk  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct. I do not ear the regular jello, I consume the sugar free kind. I know it's not the best for you, I just have a really hard time eating anything else after my procedures. I don't eat it everyday all the time, just for a couple days until my pancreas settles down. Thank you for the advice. You are right on point! God bless

      @@liverdisease-qb6rk let me suggest watermelon. The last time I had a pancreatic flare up the only thing I could eat without discomfort was watermelon. It’s also one of the easiest fruits besides grapes to digest. Be careful with “sugar free” foods. Your body knows what to do with sugar, it doesn’t know what to do with the chemical additives that replace sugar in many of these products. Turns out they are potentially far more toxic than just sugar. I feel for you my brother, in times like this you have to make hard decisions for yourself. Take as much of your health in to your own hands as possible, that means being mindful of everything that goes in to your body. It’s not easy (especially surrounded by others that don’t make healthy decisions) but it’s easier than the alternative (a life of medical procedures that don’t cure anything just treat symptoms). Best wishes in conquering this affliction…
