Benn watching you for 4 years now - that's one of the most beautiful things you've done yet. And that's just from the thumbnail. OK, watched the vid. Beautiful top on that tele. I think I would have left a bit more pink in the center personally. Some of the figuring seems to get a bit lost in the darkness of the purple. The more of your videos I watch, the more I'm convinced a stain/dye job can only look as good as the wood you use for it. I use dye or natural finishes on almost all my builds.
Gonna try a red black burst on a strat body…..red in the center. I’ve never tried it before so I got a $35 body from eBay, in case it goes horribly south.
Derek...THIS is what I was looking for when I emailed a couple months ago you about getting this type of effect on a paper thin veneer. Only difference in color is that I'm using Royal blue instead of purple. The veneer would prevent me from a sand-back after the blue. How could I get a similar effect without the sand-back?
Awesome stuff as always, Derek! I love a purplish guitar. It changes from the ever present amber and red... ♥️
I love purple and purple bursts ! Nice Derek 🙂
Oh there's absolutely more to life than brown red and yellow! Nice one!✌️&💙
You nailed that 1 Derek!I love purple too! looks STUNNING!
Really appreciate these purple stain videos. Top notch work!
Purdy!!! Love it!!!
7 minutes in and it would be a great Passion and Warfare guitar. It would fit right on the cover. Great stuff D
Pink and purple are some of the best colors for an electric guitar
Not usually a fan of purple but that turned out very nice, you may have changed my mind - Thanks for the video Derek - Cheers from Canada
that looks awesome

I thought that was an ugly top until you got to the end. Beautiful!
That one looked sthooper Derek.
That looks awesome !!
Beautiful, I'm having a real hard time finding a Tele body with the specs I actually want like that one.
Beautiful!
Hi Derek! Are those acrylic dyes? You are awesome as always 🔥🔥🔥

I think it would have looked dope with the super patchy look halfway through, if you could get a hunch of pink in there without much blending…
I'd call that a Synthwave fade!
My thoughts exactly!

I've missed the sound of the of the cloth rubbing on wood...
That grain pattern almost looks like a wolf’s head.
I wonder, wouldn't it be a lot better with a high gloss finish?
Can you tell me the exact model of the dye? Are you using the pearlescent colors or just the purple one? Thank you!
