I spent some of my childhood days in Newnan, back then it was called, THE CITY OF HOMES..It was awesome riding through the city and seeing the amazing transformations of the older homes...I still go shopping and dining in Newnan..Living in Atlanta it's a good option to go against the traffic, 85-South.... Your commentary was progressive and informative...👍👍👍
Hi Raymond. Thanks for the video. Just looking at some opportunities including Newnan. The video was a great way to get a feel for the downtown courthouse area and some good initial information regarding Newnan and how it fits into the greater Atlanta area. I appreciate your time and effort!
Great video and channel content brotha. I teach in Newnan and love the town and community. Great small town feel with all the needed amenities and great access to interstate. I live in Peachtree City so when you are ready to do your PTC shoot and need a golf cart to use, hit me up. You can’t accurately do PTC without one.
I am considering living in PTC. I live in Buckhead at the moment. I'm glad to see some blacks folks living there. I can't wait to leave Atlanta/Buckhead. It's messy!
Nice. Although McDonough is my choice this was a good look for Newnan. Good job, as usual. If you're open to it, can you do one on Grayson, Ga (Gwinnett County)? It's a small town with high incomes and a large middle to upper class black population. Be safe!
@@ghettotroof All are great. McD, PTC, Tyrone and Grayson= great schools, safe, family friendly. Good luck and enjoy the search. You can't go wrong with either. Good luck.
I grew up in the Stockbridge-McDonough/Henry County area and moved to the Senoia-Newnan/Coweta County area once I got established. Gotta say, if it wasn't for the 24/7 traffic issues of I-75 I'd give it to Henry County. That being said, the I-85 corridor of Coweta in my opinion put it over the top. At least if you work in Atlanta proper and especially at Hartsfield.
I can share information with you about Newnan Georgia since the 1950's... I was there during Jim crow laws.. I still remember very well... It is a beautiful place to live for sure.. but, I got history I can share... From the railroad tracks, to the Golf course, to the Newnan airport... The entire Coweta County...
Really you are describing COWETA County - Adding to your positives which were good - Multiple Golf courses, YMCA, the ARTS, the beautiful historic homes, Piedmont Hospital, West Georgia College, Fantastic Restaurants and several gyms, living in the North end of Newnan (we are 3 miles from Fairburn). The airport may be 30 min. and my commute time north is there is no traffic until it picks up around Virginia Avenue. Newnan has a very diverse community. Negatives- the retail is not always great for clothing, the history provided does not consider several components including the Growth Mindset seen from many Newnan Residents. Disagreements are generally handled in a respectful manner. Overall, we have some great properties, subdivisions, multiple Publix Grocery stores and easy access with Highway 16, Highway 29 and Interstate 85. Newnan is not for everyone. My family has enjoyed our time here including the Schools- #Northgate HS, #Madras MS and #Arbor Springs Elementary! #cowetacounty

Subscribed because next February I'll be looking for a two-bedroom apartment somewhere close to where my family is in Fayetteville, but where we can get more for our money. So I think your channel will be really helpful familiarizing me with different areas. (Won't be buying anything.) Thanks!
The housing market was less chaotic and more affordable here before last years tornado. It seems to have permanently raised housing cost averages. For example within about 3 months most anybody I knew that rented, especially, saw their rent prices rise about 25%-30%. It seems rent is up most everywhere but after that event in Newnan, its gonna stay up. In Newnan the job market is doing better than Ive seen it in the past-- it isn't too difficult to find decent jobs for pretty good pay, but I will say in Newnan that low income individuals and households would have it better in other areas. Public transit is almost "new' here and basic, at best. If you don't drive in Newnan, you're not going to be doing very well. There aren't a lot of options on that and there aren't many bike Lanes...and where there are bike Lanes, you'd be a bit anxious to ride a bike on. Citizens themselves arent privy to pedestrians or cyclists in more populated areas and often actually don't respect it,. Either. If youre moving here and plan to bike places, that isn't the move here. Low income housing Is choked. It's always full, and the wait periods always exceed a year or more. Extended stay hotels almost never have vacancy. Basically, Newnan isnt great to rent housing at. There aren't any places for the homeless to transition into better housing, there isn't any real development in housing for the low income coming into Newnan, and basically, if you're single, work a regular job and don't drive, you are barely going to get by here. Theres nothing affordable whatsoever if you don't make more than 15.00 an hr. I've lived here a lot of my life, and lately, Newnan seems like it has less housing than it does people. I can't even get into a spot even though I could afford up to 1200 a month for housing and work two jobs. I'm homeless and I can't even find someone trying to rent out a mere room for less than a thousand a month, thousands in deposits for mere rooms, etc. I'm literally camped out by my job off international park, saving money for a van, and getting out of Newnan. I have no other choice. I wish I did. Thats how it is here. I work a lot, and I don't have anything here. There aren't any public services that help with housing and most any program that provides for the public in any way is privatized and usually not available to say, a young male with a job. Basically this town has been very unforgiving to me and I don't really think anyone should move here unless they already have tons and tons of finances and support. It's not the place to get on your feet. That's incredibly hard here, and if homeless, well, you're trespassing no matter where you set up a tent, and cops will only allow the homeless to exist in a few places. Otherwise if homeless, you can't really even have a seat anywhere in town for long or cops will run you off. A lot of the cops are cool and a lot of them are way uncool. Some understand and leave you be, others assume you must deserve being without shelter and make it hard for you. This isn't a forgiving town. Since the tornado I know people including myself who are genuinely struggling and are dying to just get out of Newnan. I lived on Greenville st for 5 years before the tornado. I was not eligible for any relief or benefit, or help, etc. The only benefits I saw regarding the tornado benefited the land owner, Georgia Power, or a bank collecting mortgage and not ever a tenant who was renting. In fact I don't know of any renters who even got a shred of relief...my landlord got relief/benefits before and also after I was put on the street...truly it disgusted me. For whatever reason, the people of Newnan also seem to agree that helping a tenant is a big no, and helping the landlord is a big yes. This towns mentality mostly shames the poor. If walking, some guy will rev his engine at you and often just blow literal smoke on you as they pass to insult you. It's a heartless town. It's really a shame. I have no hate for Newnan, but no love, either. This town helps you when you're already up, and never if you're down
Yeah I'm a angeleno the thought of moving to a town that celebrates white supremacy in its monuments makes my blood run cold and terrifies me This is a thing that really prevents me from moving to the South

Ooooh. You were being nice about the "diversity". I was looking at possibly living there but, I'll pass. I knew it had some issues but, to me, the risk isn't worth the reward.
Just say the town is racist. I don’t understand why we have to sweet coat the reality. I rather know the truth and make a sound decision for my family than be surprised.
I do NOT feel the town is racist, that’s why I didn’t say it. I did say there has been a long history in Newnan but I do not feel the town is somehow more racist or less racist than any other city in America. I actually just moved to Newnan myself and I definitely wouldn’t purposefully move to an area that I felt I wasn’t welcomed.
I was born and raised on the Westside. Ota not racist. There are racist people everywhere but to say a place is racist in a whole isn't fair. To me, newnan has been mostly black to me, but it's diversity is pretty cool. Big ups to Newnan High and Northgate
