- I'm going to Torikizoku, a reasonable Izakaya chain in Japan. You can enjoy yakitori (chicken skewers) and drinks.

Thanks for watching
Anyone else reacted !! when he said his wife was waiting 😊? You got me!
Im on my way to congratulate him 🥲
First I was 😮 then I was 😆
I’ve only been twice but there’s something about your channel(s) that make me feel like I’m in Japan again 🙂
Thanks for the super ☺️
Only twice? You're very lucky! 🤘 Maybe one day I'll make it there... considering I've been in love with Japan since 1986 😅
🇦🇺💝🇯🇵
Perfect chill video to watch when you're recovering from a migraine.
Lemon Sours tend to be the default at a lot of Izakaya's. Some portion sizes can be very BIG as big as a Huge Bowl that can serve 5-10 people. The more popular Izakaya's tend to be very small (only fitting 6 people MAX). These can be found in the alleys ways (Japan is probably the ONLY country in which YOU NEED to go into the alleys to find these great small establishments.) A few like the first one shown can be a cheap way to drink and eat (especially now with the US dollar being very strong over there.) There is even a Izakaya that has only OLD SCHOOL candy/treats instead of savory foods. So if you have a sweet tooth and need to drink cheap they got you covered. Izakaya is a cheap means for food and drinks, but BEWARE its not healthy. Also unless you LOVE Lemon Sours I'd get something else they are cheap for a reason as you saw in his video.
Lemon sours came from the post-war period when available alcohol was of poor quality. The lemon and soda water covers up the taste.
@@straightpipedieselI go for a Diet Coke/Coke Zero or another “Zero sugar” soda when I dine out if I can’t order “sweet tea”. Due to medications, I can’t take alcohol :(
These videos inspire me to live my dream to visit Japan. One day soon I hope. But until then, Thankyou for your videos, they are always a highlight.
i'd have to spend at least 6 weeks there, not happening 😂😂😂
是非、日本へ来てね
STJ you do make me laugh and the biggest compliment I can pay you is your humour is so like my two boys and your appetite.😂 Thank you ❤👵🏴🌹🌹
the no wife joke was funny
Food looks great as always, thank you STJ!
The "English" option on that menu is just romaji (Japanese words written with the Roman alphabet) so you still have to know Japanese to read it. Definite "malicious compliance" vibes there.
When you tap on the "!" Button at the menu item you get an english description of the food/drink. So you don't need japanese at all at Torikizoku.
@@andyhamburgo91Don't all menus have an English translation?
@@JadenYukifan28 You mean in Japan in general? Not, not all places have english menus
Torikizoku is one of my favorite places. I was recently in Tokyo for more than two weeks and visited Torikizoku five times 😊 Here are some of my favorite items you missed out on:
Mega Mug Beer and Edamame. My standard starter, the perfect combination.
Chicken wings. They are great!
Oktopus with wasabi. Delicous!
Chita Whisky. Chita might not be the best japanese whisky (Torikizoku themselves call it "semi-premium), but for this price it's amazing that it is served.
Omg we also ate there and the tsukune is also my favorite! I was salivating watching. I tried to reproduce it at home and was reasonably successful. I love Japan so much
Another great insight into food in Japan. Arigato!
Everything looks delicious 🤤
Nice overview. The various cocktails are too easy to consume. I prefer nihon-shu (sake). But the yuzu sour is tempting. I like the 'solo' aspect of the presentation as I am generally alone when visiting Tokyo.
I would love places like these near me.
You have a rough week at your normal job, like 4 drinks in what looked like an hour!! Shish, STJ!! Love your jokes about the "wife."
Japanese drinks tend to be much milder and lower ABV than typical western cocktails.
Watch his video of his trip on the sake train. I have no idea how he walked off that train unassisted. I would have been unconscious about 2/3 of the way in.
Someplace else I’ll only see with you. Thank you. From NC USA
Love this! thank you. I requested an Izakaya video a few months ago and you delivered. Very helpful, we are planning 3 weeks in Japan in 2024! Your videos are whats driving our trip. Thanks again for the efforts you always make.
Watching your video after a long time... enjoyed the video sooo much...
Torikizoku was my first restaurant experience in Japan! Now its a must every time I visit. Thanks for sharing with us :)
😂another fun and mouth watering video👍🏻
It’s always such a pleasure watching the videos. So peaceful & unique ❤ And the food always looks so amazing. Japan is worth to spend a couple of weeks there and I guess it’s still not enough 🥹
Thank you for sharing this
The sky tree is beautiful at night
If I may paraphrase Paulie from The Sopranos, "I'll bet you could eat walnut maple ice cream off the sidewalk in Japan."
Lol I absoluutly love you can watch your videos everyday. Your so funny my wife is waiting lol. The food looks amazing thank you for your awesome videos.❤ lots of love from South Africa🇿🇦
As someone who loves to drink, and eat, I love the concept of Izakaya 🥰 The most you can expect from an Australian pub is a good chicken parma 😅
Thanks for always sharing! 🇦🇺💝🇯🇵🤘
Also, my choice would be "Tebasaki" 🐔
I walked in front of it dozen of times. Had no idea it was there. Building upper floors hide all sorts of gems!
I enjoy hearing the other people talking and background sounds of the izakayas.
Delicious food
Last week in London at a Japanese restaurant was discussing with patron the need for an Izakaya in London and favourite dishes of Chicken heart, Liver, Asparagus with bacon, Chicken balls, Quail eggs, all start with beer then Shochu inn the rocks with lemon… also need to find one. Yet the restaurant I went too was totally enjoyable and the meal delicious
Oh my god! I literally went to this same one on the same day!! Like no joke maybe 4 hours later lol I'd be 100% certain i was in the crowd shots if i hadn't been in Nikko that day. I'm actually just about to go out to eat at one in Kyoto!! Love the channel!
I really enjoyed this video it's interesting to see different types of food and different alcoholic drinks please do more😊😊
We just got back 2 weeks ago. Okamachi alley ways are a short walk from Asakusa. They have lots of specials for 1000¥ a large beer and small appetizers. You eat, drink and move to your next stall! Still on Japan time, and wanting to go back. Thanks for all you post!
Women's bath is on the other side
This looks fun
STJ: *switches iPad to English.*
Me: "That didn't help." 😂
I guess when you have good food, good video skills and subtle humor, you have just about all you need. Thank you SoloSan.
I live in Ekoda at the moment and there is a Torikizoku just a three minute walk. I frequent it when I want to relax with friends at a cheap price. Thank you for this video, I will show my other friends for when they come to Japan!
all the yakitoris look delicious!💖
17:43 can confirm brother i also don't have anyone waiting + night just begin :D
WHOOO! Getting smashed with Solo!
Torikizoku is the best I’m going back to Japan just to go again lol also love that they played Where our blue is in the video
I went to an izakaya while staying in Tokyo and yes, I had the same problem with the uncomfortable seat, but the environment was great and drinks also 😉
I hope you enjoyed it!
固い椅子は長時間居座られるのを回避する為
It is so nice ! Japan food always Yammy 😊😊😊
I definitely liked this video.
I totaly agree. The chicken meatball is my favorite too. But cartilge I don't like at all. I will be back in Tokio in some days and will be looking out for that izakaya. Thanx for the tip!
And by the way, nice joke with the wife...😅
This is my favorite too😂
I should have eaten lunch 4 hours ago, and your video made me even more hungry 😂
Also, I heard Idol playing in the background at some point 😁
I love chicken cartilage or Hiza nankotsu especially when we make our own fried chicken or roasted chicken I tried to find the piece that's in between the breast meat of the chicken...Oh another cartilage you should try out would be Pork..lol sorry I just love food just not big on the alcoholic drinks.
12:07 Not on purpose.
Two-thirty in the morning and I am now starving.
I have been to Torikizoku twice and their yakitori is really good but i find their tori zoksui's taste a little like instant ramen broth but it still good. Torikizoku is a little hard to find on Google maps since usually the name is in kanji most of the time.
I loved the izakaya culture in Japan, but expect for the food this place does not has much of the izakaya vibes. In my experience they are small crowded and very noisy in a a good way. Oh, and as you said in the video very smokey 😁
Ao no Sumika playing in the background T.T
6:10 Oshi no Ko Idol
Solo is single that explains why he can afford multiple restaurant visits in a day.
Someone get me some zosui, right meow! 🤤
does the Izakaya welcome non japanese?
I have seen before some Izakaya having posters of japanese only
What liquor do they use in the whiskey sour and you made me pause when you said wife. Great job!!
Can you provide the time index of the beverage you are referring to?
@@eatlikealocal hi the first whisky sour you had
kushikatsu always tastes kind of bland for me, but yakitori never misses the spot. Best parts are the thigh, heart, liver, and cartilage.
I'm afraid the cartilage doesn't appeal to me, but the rest looked good. Thanks for showing us this restaurant.
The tsukune was really good :)
oooh, these look great--though the 'english' isn't terribly useful, alas.
😢😢😢
Lol i screamed i thought you had a wife. So silly
Wait, what the heck? I'm at 17:48. STJ has a WIFE?????
17:56: Ok, that's better.
But I've had a wife for 45 years. It's awesome, you should try it.
Did a whole double take from hearing you speak
8 sets of adverts is wild, will not be back.
Your settings are stopping me watching it.
Sort it out.
Well, I didn’t know that eating chicken cartilage was a thing
Wheneve I bump into chicken cartilege I spit it out.
Way too slow.
"Chicken cartilage"!!!!!! GROSS!!!!!!!!!!
野暮なことは言わないでください。
Don't laugh but my favorite part is the bonjiri Here in the US, I've heard it called the Preacher's nose.🤌
You just know when to cheer everyone up Solo San. Your videos are fun filled and especially this one makes my mouth water. Hi from Downunder 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
