From the UK, I hope and pray all is well with you, your family and your fellow citizens, after the earthquake. Thank you for all the pleasure you bring to your subscribers. Take care until the situation is safer.
Very competitive prices even in Ginza. My last trip to Tokyo, we found it cheaper to eat in Tokyo than our native Melbourne. Hamburgers are $18 upwards for good ones, so when we saw the excellent prices for sushi in Tokyo we literally ate it at least once per day. The small local sushi bar near our hotel knew us by the end of our stay and loved to dote on our daughter, giving her a farewell gift!
The prices for meals out in Japan is so reasonable and much better than here in the UK. The quality is much better too for the price. Meals of similar prices here would be poor quality or fast food.
Historically, Japan's government has subsidized the costs of food and beverage production to maintain lower consumer pricing. Some people might consider this a form of socialist government control. This is being phased out (by Q1 2024), due to high inflation rates which have made the past economic strategies unsustainable.
Everything looked delicious, and I wish I could try it all. Thank you for taking us on the culinary tour , and I wish you a happy, safe, and curry filled New Year.
@@STJfoodtour Are you okay, Solo-san? I saw the news about the earthquake, and just wanted to check on you. I hope you and your family are safe and well.
Anyone else surprised that every dish wasn't a curry from a different area/region 😂😂😂 Thank you STJ for this and all your adventures this year ,wishing you a Happy New Year full of joy, good luck ,good health and good curry!! 😅
All the food looked delicious 😋 and thank you so much for explaining it all so well. What I really like about Japanese food is the presentation of it, it’s absolutely beautiful. 😊 and I pray 🙏🏻 all is well with you after that earthquake
Yeah g'day, Thank you for putting your waistline on the line again and exploring different food though I did think that you might have broken the chain by having curry. I look forward to the next adventure in food.
Is it my imagination, or is the Kumamon shop in the same building that used to house Wakko chocolates and cakes? I swear I bought chocolates in there, I recognise the staircase.
I am used to tartare sauce with fried fish, and with chips, but never seen it with fried chicken before. Happy New Year Solo San and thanks for sharing your culinary and travel adventures with us all
It seems strange that some parts of Japanese menus are in english but the food descriptions arent. Lol "NEW" "Lunch Menu" i wonder if there are older Japanese people who have eaten at the restaurant forever and not knowing what the English words on the menu mean.
Never in a million years would I have thought fried chicken with tins of tartar sauce was a thing. I used to love French fries with tartar sauce. So why not! Thanks for the food tour.❤

Japanese-style Tartar Sauce is based on the French Ravigote Sauce, which is served with a variety of foods - such as fish, poultry, and meat.
Happy New Year I get inspired by your travels trying to find the salad dressing can you please help

Good lord they take a bonito set seriously, i could never eat that much bonito in one setting. You need some side dishes.
Everything looks good but what is Bonito?
A species of fish.
