that guy had vibes like natsuki. if you know who natsuki is

@@sandeepansinha I don't know any Natsuki mate. I do know that one guy who sang ASO Too Much Volcano with Chris and Joey though
@@discordmoderator313 lol
I didn’t expect how easy it would be to socialize with others at the bars and clubs there.
It’s like the one place where the conservative Japanese person gets a break from discipline and work and all that decorum.
yeah you just need to learn Japanese 😂
Its really not.. he knows conversational japanese. That is the bare minimum you need to have this experience. You cannot just show up with english and 10 japanese words/phrases memorized and have this happen.
Source: late twenties white guy who drinks, whose been to Japan 4 times and is going back in a month.
It is, but is is combined mentality.
It's really easy actually. I'm from Norway and I've been two times. Dont know why he felt the need to tell them he's gay though. Guess that's a thing now, if you're gay or vegan you just have to state it lol
Whoa! That's my old buddy Hiro (aka Hagrid) with the beard using all the colorful English. He's a professional pianist and really nice guy. I quit drinking a few years ago, but used to hang out with him almost every weekend over there in Harmonica, Kichijoji. Fun reliving those days while watching.
small world
This is the best comment ever. I hope you reach out to Hiro, and if you do tell him this here Texan thinks he’s great!
(Also, congrats on quitting drinking.)

hiro seems like such a stand up dude. would love to share some rounds with 'ol dude.
Dude looks like he could rip some nice pianotunes for sure.
This is your first video I accidentally came across and I must say it feels almost like a documentary. Nothing scripted. Nothing planned. Just living that Japanese life.
Yeah, it’s spot on accurate. Been in Japan 12 years now.
The absolute shade at the lady picking up the dropped item from the train tracks though
Now here's the most beautiful love story: Me and you? Though we have fallen short of the glory of God by comitting just one sin which we deserve death and hell for, the Good News is that God loved us soo much that He, All-Powerful and All-Knowing Spirit came to earth in a human body as Jesus Christ, the fullness of God bodily, to live a perfect life keeping and fulfilling all laws and commandments, not sinning ONCE, and then sacrificing Himself on a cross for YOU! By shedding His Blood, He paid the penalty for your sin so that you could be washed clean from all sins and develop a personal relationship with God and spend eternity together with Him in Heaven. How awesome is that?! That's God's grace. All you have to do to accept His gift of grace is turn away from your sin and believe that Jesus is God, He shed His precious Blood for you and He is risen from the dead, He's in full control of your life that He rules over you. It's not by works or being a good person, it's only by God's grace through faith in Him. Jesus desires a personal relationship with you. Wow that is so incredible! Please turn to Him, He loves you so much and so do I!!
*I love how you lean in to being from the States.*

The best night of going out drinking in my life was in Tokyo this year. Absolutely unmatched energy. Wound up starting at the NY Bar and Grill, met some cool residents from Shinjuku and the next thing you know they're whisking us around until 7am lol. We rolled down at least 8 bars in Golden Gai, added like 3 more people, ate at some crazy local Chinese restaurant in an alley they knew that sat like 7 people and probably had never seen a tourist, and wound up laughing in a heap outside Shinjuku station by the Starbucks as people were starting their work days. Absolute peak adventure. This feels so close to that.
your username 😂
I’ve had similar experiences in Osaka. You meet one person then by the end of the night ur in a group just drinking, eating, smoking and just genuinely enjoying life
@@moeyali123 Ya I really miss my smoke with a coffee or beer over there... mount Rainier coffee... emerald mountain... Mild Seven 1's...
Exact same experience when I went in 2019. Rolled into Golden Gai with my cousin, added to the group with each bar we went to, ended up being in a group of 10+ people by 6am, Americans, Brazilians, Japanese and us the Australians. We were all using google translate to communicate and laugh. Was one of the best nights out I've had.
I had the craziest night I’ve ever had in Shinjuku this year
Japanese Hagrid is such a chad lmao. absolutely funny and seems like a chill guy. watching videos like these makes me want to visit so bad, the people/atmosphere/culture seems like such a vibe. That might be my goal for 2024
You literally need to be able to speak Japanese, it doesn't just happen.
@yoggz lol you don't need to know a language to visit somewhere 🤣
@@yoggzshush
Remember fuck yea
@@limecat7996 Yeah but you won't be able to enjoy it as much, any country really.
These drinking videos in Japan are literally my dopamine rush for the week. Need more.
This is an accurate depiction of Japanese small bars and the friendliness of the people, and so different from the other depictions I've seen online. I lived in Yokohama for 6 years and this brought back memories. I miss Japan.
This video is a prime example of how travelling vlogs should be made.
Respecting the culture, speaking the language and having a blast.
I hate all these privileged white guys that travel around and make videos for millions where they’re just so ignorant. “Oh look how dirty this street food stand looks” “ok give me this and that” and they stick the camera into the sellers face.
This video on the other hand is respectable, and fun. And it’s not only because of alcohol, but because you’re a down to earth guy. Keep it up
I’m Japanese and can’t agree more
Have you seen his other videos? Lol. He is like that.
This guy is exactly the kind of TH-camr you don't like haha. He shits on so many foreign countries he visits.
yes yes whitey bad
@@johnprager662 Didn't say he was bad. It was just funny how this TH-camr is exacly what the OP said he doesn't like haha.
this video is just so fun to watch due to it being so authentic, its just people having a genuinely good time drinking together
normal night in tokyo. Every night. It's fucking amazing over here my dude
This is exactly what I experienced when I used to live in Japan 20+ years ago. Sometimes they are curious as to where you come from. But, they are very nice and good sports. They will buy you beer/food etc. Hope to return again.... Good vid...
As someone who enjoys going to a bar alone and talking to random people, this place looks like paradise
This made me so happy to watch. It’s hard to believe we were literal enemies with this country 70+ years ago
Everyone was enemies with Japan back then, they were ruthless and vicious though. The stories are gruesome
@@speedmetalmassiah567 Well.. alot of the friendly ones too
Blame governments. People in all countries are friendly, politics drive us apart

I love travel channels like this, they feel so authentic. so glad to have come across your page
I love how even the cooks are raising the glass with you, very mature and responsible environment for drinking. I love it! Unlike in the US where people drink and they turn into assholes... I never understood it, I always feel friendly and relaxed when I drink. Drinking in Japan is one of my life goals now xD
Well how you act drunk really depends on your mood, so no wonder why Japanese make these amazing bars that make you feel welcome and like you can speak to one another
I loved that part, the female chef was so awesome the way she did the "cheers" with him. And love how the hosts and guests all chimed in to conversate with him. Japan is like a Western version of Asia, I love it, the people, culture, and country! It is my dream to go there one day!😍
Straight off the bat, you show more respect and etiquette to Japanese people than most foreigners living in Japan. And you took the time and effort to learn a bit of Japanese! You've got my respect for that
A little respect and knowledge of the local language and culture goes a loooooong way in having a good time anywhere on earth. If you bother to learn just a few words or basic phrases like 'Hello, thank you, I'm sorry/excuse me, and goodbye' locals tend to warm up to you a lot. Humans are just like that no matter where you go. 99% of us just want to have a laugh and be friends.
This is one of the best videos I have seen about how Japan's drinking culture is with foreigners who are willing to talk to them. Its bloody fun
Dude so fucking happy you finally made it to Japan and that your channel has blown up. Truly deserved. Sending you all the love and light from LA, can't wait to see your journey continue
"sending love and light"
leave that saying in 2023 bruh
Japan is one of these few countries that love small alleyway bars and the vibe is unmatched. Would love to visit these kind of spaces sometime in the future.
You speak Japanese more than a ordinary tourist and know good local stuff bro I’m impressed.
I was about to say he knows way more than the average tourist. Way more than すみません。
I spent quite a bit of time learning Japanese before going there, and he definitely spoke better than I did. If I had to guess, he has been studying for at least a year or more.
I've seen a couple of his videos and he mentioned he has lived in Japan, not sure how long. There is no way a tourist can wander around in Kichijoji and enjoy eating local foods and drinks with locals at night. lol
@@tokyodude2715 I think he mentioned in this video he used to live in Osaka
@@andrewpagan Yeah, I thought so. I guess the reason he doesn't use the Osaka dialect is he went to a language school there. I kind of wish he kept living here and spoke better, but seeing his contents traveling around the world is something enjoyable as well.
Man, I must say your adventure has been entertaining. Real and raw. Unlike other TH-camrs who have traveled to similar countries, you come out as more authentic, without the bs description and lectures, and adding some comedy into the mix. Hands down, this is the best world travel blog I have ever watched. I hope you do another trip in the near future!

I have had the luck of being able to travel around the world thanks to my job and it always blows my mind when i meet people very similar to my character on the other side of the world. I love how in this video you can how easily it is just to vibe with strangers even with a small language barrier. Human interaction is one of lifes underrated pleasures!
Fuck your vibes

Dude, I've binged your trip and looked forward to it every night this week. You've inspired me. Why have I stopped taking risks and adventures? That's what I've been asking myself this week. Watching you do it has reignited something in me. So now I love you 💛 Well done man, it's been huge.
It's been huge the entire time you've been waiting for his uploads? Damn man, you really are excited!
Lived in Japan for 2 years. You give great advice honestly, really appreciated watching this and remembering nights out.
Nice pfp
I was in Tokyo last March by myself for a week and I'm a little introverted but decided to go to these smaller bars. People were so friendly, funny & accommodating I drank until 6am in the morning most nights and a lot of my itinerary was left unchecked. Worth it though. Two things I noticed were Japanese girls are the best wingman for their friends & the bartenders are the coolest people around.
Did you know some japanese before going?
@@ballingonja Very little but it made it fun teaching each other our language. Tokyo definitely has better English speakers than Kyoto or Osaka.
Do you know the name of the small bar you went to? I would love to go to one, but, like you I am a little introverted and I know practically zero Japanese so I am worried about getting turned away or just locals not wanting to engage with me. Do you have any recommendations for drinking at these small bars alone? :)
I love the half spoken English and Japanese, amazing how you can understand anyone while having a beer.
i'm in tokyo for study abroad and can ascertain if you speak even a small amount of japanese you will make lots of friends quick, drinking really dissolves the language barrier
I love the way in Japanese culture honesty and respect of each other is the daily norm. It makes me wonder why here in the United States we are all so indifferent and uncaring and rude all the time! The Japanese are very polite and well mannered. A stranger even let you know that you left some change inside the vending machine. It's nice to know there are still nice people out there.
It could be when money is the only thing that holds a nation together then that might be the outcome. Without common values or heritage, that's the only thing that's left.
Our bipartisan polical system is enough to set us up for failure as a nation. As along as there are one side and the other, everyone will think theres are the correct one, which leads to never ending conflicts.
That and our american culture where built on a lot of bloodshed, broken treaty, and segregations. Thats enough to put all sides on the defense.
That being said, we are a young country thats very innovative. Its breeding ground for art which created a lot of cultral movements and technologies. We influence the world whether they like to admit it or not.
Because they remain as one race/one people while america is a mix.
@@CirrowProductions What are you trying to say? Do you have a swastika tattoo on your chest by chance? Does the term Hail Hitler brings you pride?
I sadly believe this is due to being a homogenous nation. This and the fact Japanese people feel a sense of strong responsibility to care for their nation. It’s not perfect of course.
this vlog is amazing. it made me genuinely smile and laugh. everyone is so friendly and vibing!!
I love how genuine your interactions are, definitely stealing some of these phrases for bar hopping in Japan.

Loved watching this video, reminds me a lot of my trip to Japan during the summer 2017. Went to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto and i can say that Osaka and Kyoto had some of the most social and inviting people i've met in any foreign country during my adult years. Just going to a pub that some random bloke i met on the street and befriended took me on one of the most memorable adventures i can recall. Japan has a special culture around drinking but take it from me, they know how to have fun
