Lee: I enjoy all your videos a "Bits and bobs". I could not get the 6 flight modes to work until I read your article @ OpenTX University. Yeah Whoo it works! I also added the wav files to play with the flight modes. I would recommend maybe making a video, in your spare time , showing the whole process for multrotors and Taranis. Thank you.
+Painless360 Lee: Custom Switches is now Logic Switches in the software . And I don't have the Taranis Plus radio. So it was a learning curve to see how to do it with present day software. Also adding sound by way of Logic Switches. Thank you so much for the videos and information. Next up is to get rid of the jiggling in the OSD information on the FPV screen!
Cheers for the great videos. If it helps any one else -I tried to copy new sounds over the existing sounds but it would only play the original sounds. Having already copied and saved the original sounds on my PC I then deleted the originals sounds folder off the SD card. Replaced with the new sounds complete folder and it worked great ! Happy flying now with an even sexier voice.
Brilliant video - thanks. For what it's worth, the sound files all have to be at 32KHz - took me a while to work that one out creating individual sounds myself.
Great video. I had problems connecting my Taranis to USB and copying in the files. The X9DP would freeze up when attempting to copy or delete the files and I had to pull the battery out several times. Removed the microSD and used an adapter to put in my computer and loaded the new files that way. Also need to be careful with the currently available Amber Pack. The only version available is for the OpenTX firmware 2.1. The sound pack will work for the OpenTX firmware 2.0 but many of the numbered file names have changed in the SYSTEM folder. Need to review the text file in the Amber Pack listing what has changed between 2.0 and 2.1. Make the changes for 2.0 if running firmware 2.0. In my case I was using a switch to read the voltage to me and the decimal places were read incorrectly because the file names need to be updated.
I´ve got a radiomaster Tx16, and i think that it works like the taranis since they use the opentx. Is it possible to add a sound when i turn the radio off? Thanks
I have OpenTX 2.1.3 installed on my Taranis. I followed these instructions...using the Amber 2.1 sound file pack. But after doing so I do not have any sounds at all. Not even the intro verbiage!
well explained but having trouble replacing the welcome sound. Have recorded other sounds for names of planes etc. I imported spitfire engine and edited it changing as required. Placed on sd card in system sounds and renamed as hello. Still not recognised. Hope you can help.
I do recall the name of the welcome sound changed so check the notes for the version you are using. If you’re using the Amber sounds pack then that comes with a file that shows you what they all are.. best of luck!
I followed these steps but my Tanaris started making strange noises and could not find any sounds at all! Even when I replace the Amber sounds with the originals I still can't find them neither from the radio or open tx. Anyone know what might be the problem? Files are in right folders and sd path is the usb drive(e:) Why would it not find the originals?
is there a way to configure a special function to be valid for any model? for example, i like to assign a switch to backlight, can i make it work without individually setting it up for each model?
so in open tx companion you have to know exactly what switch it is and select it or can you still move the switch on the TX and it will auto select it?
Hi Painless brilliant videos in your series, I followed this one to the letter , but the Amber sounds are not showing up on my taranis or on the companion. I just have the originals. I put the sg card in a card reader and they are all present and correct. What am I missing
would you help me with a couple of ítems?(1) Anabela: I made all of the process and the link with the root source opens the voice in Quick Time format (not allowing me to save or change to WAV or MP·). is there one other way for me to make it or is there any other simlar page that I can use?(2) Tracks and values are played in the radio, no "sound" from "Play a sound" is Heard. I did this once with the Amber Sounds Pack but seem to have forgotten the process. Also I thought I had Companion setup to where it would play Amber sounds from the PC is that possible?
Is there a way to assign specific sound to the left and right paddle sliders and the 2 pots (S1 and S2)? In the special functions list they will not register like the switches do.

Extremely informative videos and thank you for taking the time to inform us in a way that is understandable. However, I have reached video 6 (adding custom sound) and I have hit a problem. I backed-up the original sounds on my computer and downloaded the Amber sound pack. All OK so far. I then tried to transfer the Amber pack across to the transmitter and it didn't download. So, I removed the SD card and did a download via the computer. It all seemed to download correctly and showed the content successfully on the SD card. Unfortunately, on inserting the SD card into the transmitter I now have no sound at all (original or otherwise). What am I doing wrong? Please can you help. Perhaps, at the age of 69 I should not have started a new technology venture but it seemed a lot more challenging and exciting than knitting!!
+Painless360 FEEDBACK: Thanks for the info and for your time. Before I started to change the Firmware I decided to check the SD card files. Perhaps it is that I don't understand computer functionality. On the SD card I had created a file 'Amber Sound Pack' in order to differentiate between it and the original sounds. Having previously made a back-up of the Original sound pack installed and the Amber pack I decided to delete all sound files from the SD card and then reload the Amber sound pack WITHOUT any sub headings or folders. GUESS WHAT - IT WORKED! So it would seem that my addition of folders on the SD card somehow interfered with the ability of the transmitter to access the sound info. Sorry for being so long-winded but I wanted to save your time and effort by providing feed-back and a solution for other users. All the best

When you select the model the radio will read out all the switch positions you have set (throttle off, stabilise mode) etc. This is normal. I've never tried to disable this as its what you normally want..
Hi before you transfer all the new files do you have to delete all the sound files on the Taranis after you have backed them up? Great job on the videos they are very helpful.

I have the amber sounds for 2.1.8 on my radio, I wondering why I have access to all the sounds but not to the number files in the sys directory? is there a way to get the number sounds.. maybe pick one I want and rename and copy it to the sounds directory? i'd have a switch for expo... now I have it saying "expo mode2" i'd like it to say "expo 20"... is there a way"thanks, bob
Is there a way to prevent it from playing the track on start-up? For example, my Simulator model says: "Simulator" once for start "Timer On" for lap timer "Arm/Disarm Motors" to signal between flying or menu mode (for Liftoff) "High/Middle/Low Rates" whatever position it's on I'd really like it to only announce Timer/Arm/Rates when a change occurs, and NOT on start-up.
Lee, I am able to access Amber pack sounds through the OPEN TX Companion, but if I try to add a new sound that wasn't already in the pack like "mycoolbeepsound.wav" it will play the sound from the special functions screen, but once I assign it to the switch, it won't play the sound when the switch is used. Is there something in OPENTX that only recognizes known sounds? I even renamed the sound to one that was in the Amber pack and it still won't play. Very strange.
I don't have my radio yet, but going through all the videos, and am through 5 or 6 so far... Just have to say, this appears to be the greatest radio ever.. I can use all my DSM helis I already have (Of course with the added module), I think I can even use the couple futaba quads I have, but even if I can't, I only have 2, so swapping them will be easy enough... If the gimbals on this radio are "ANYTHING" like my JR 12x, I will be in heaven!!! I love the weight and feel of my 12x, and this "looks" so much similar... Thank you for all the videos, it has been so very helpful, as I was very worried about programming it correctly... Using it with the TBS Crossfire... And, am excited! hehe (Like a little girl getting a pony for Xmas..LOL) Can't wait to check out your other videos, especially the CC3D. Picked up a used quad with one, and I am not familiar with it at all... You ROCK!

Hello - A few months back I upgraded my Taranis (non plus) from its original firmware to 2.1.8 and added the amber sound pack. Now the minute timer no longer says "minutes" it just reads out the number. Any idea how to get the minutes word to speak? Thanks!

Hi +Painless360 I have watched your latest videos on telemetry and came back to revisit this video to try to get the answer for my issue. I'm using a FLVSS to get telemetry to my X4R and into my radio. I managed to get it working but I can only get a reading of the digits before the point (for instance 15.46V it only reads 15V, or 3.88V it only reads 3V). The radio won't read the decimals. When say read, I mean "speak" because I can see on the screen the voltage in a 4 or 3 digit format, but there is no use when you flying fpv.Can you help? Thanks again, again and again.

+Wolf-Frag FPV I've set a throttle cut and when the throttle cut is active I setup the radio to play the 'Throttle disabled' sound and play 'Throttle Active' when in the other position. Hope this helps.

Well I ordered the plus a couple days ago, I'll figure it out. Question? Will the open tx work on Windows 7 I bought on just because a lot of software is not compatible with my Mac. Thanks for your tutorials I think with them I can get the transmitter programmed.

I have made a wav file and transferred into en file on Taranis .it plays from the en file while in computer, unplug and then open sound file on Taranis , select same file and it won't play.it has the .wav like all the original files.
dude, something happened. when I turned my taranis on there were no sounds. when I reconnected it it said the sd card file had to be formatted, which would erase everything. what do I do?
Sounds like the SD card isn’t happy. I’d pop it out and see if you can read it on a PC. You’re right reformatting would delete everything on it. If you can read the card on the PC then I’d copy all of it for safety and maybe try another SD card.. Best of luck!
I got it fixed. I had to take the sd card out of the taranis and put it directly into my computer. I apparently did something really wrong to it because after I formatted it I had to scan it and repair whatever I had done to mess it up. I managed to find the files I needed on a forum, which conveniently had the sounds I was wanting already on it. All I had to do then was download the files from the forum and transfer them to the sd card. Now it's working perfectly! Thanks for the help and hopefully if anyone else has the same problem I had they'll know how to fix it.
Look for a sound file called 'TaDa' on the SD card. That's the one that it plays on start-up. You can change it by renaming the sound you want played to that same name. Happy flying!
Hey painless..I just added the Amber pack to my TX. It works fine, except when I boot up my taranis, I'm no longer greeted by "welcome to taranis. In fact I get nothing at all..all other voice prompts works great..any thoughts would be welcomed. Thanks!
Really appreciate your channel and help.I have some how fudged the process you describe in this video. i saved the original sounds as suggested. after install of amber sound pack no change was observed. i then tried to delete what was on the sounds setting and reinstall the original sounds with no luck. Now when i turn on the taranis there is no sound, when i try to add a sound to a switch the taranis says no sounds on sd card. Can you make a video on how to fix this problem ? Thanks a bunch!!!
its not letting me download the amber pack when i save target as it saves it as a .htm file and even if i click the link it takes me to an add any ideas plase???
The Amber sound pack you downloaded from RCG's ''theKM_opentxTaranis_soundPackFull_amber_20140709.z ip'' - clicking on it comes up with ''Cannot Get'' any reason that you know off!!?? But did manage to download the amber sounds as found in OpenTx University as [Amber Sound pack for v2.2: hmvc.eu/Amber22.rar] but this does not have the two JPG,XLSX files listed under your SOUNDS file ( 5:08), which would be interesting to have. Will not change the sound settings just yet until I've reveiwed how to save the 'as is' sounds and am more famillier with the Taranis - USB drive (G:) and Taranis drive (H:) and their files Did manage to change the Firmware from V2.1.6 to V2.2.0 - thanks to your video, thanks...joe
Actually, it doesn't look like the zip has all the additional .WAV files. Do you think I'm possibly doing something incorrectly? All I see are system files.
I tried to do this and when I connect my taranis to the computer in bootloader mode it won't open any of the folders, then when I disconnect the usb it won't turn off unless I disconnect the battery. It just keeps the usb connected screen on.
Painless360 it appears to be my laptop. The usb drives showed up as having an issue and it seems to be working fine now after windows ran a "fix" on it. Probably something to do with the two times my daughter spilled things in my laptop.
is there a way to set my switches so when I turn on my radio it doesn't tell me what position its in for example when I power my radio on it tells me Horizon mode engines disarm
You could setup the volume to be controlled by a slider and have that down when powering on maybe.. This is a suggestion for a future enhancement for OpenTX - github.com/opentx/opentx/issues/1445
+Mike McCarty simply rename the sound file you want it to play with that name. Make sure it's the right format if you're trying to use a custom sound. Best of luck!
so i see a bunch of *.txt files in your directory, mine has none either on the taranis or in the amber sound pack i downloaded. the amber sound pack only has files in the [SYSTEM] folder and not the additional files in the [en] folder. also where did you find the jpg and xlsx files? they werent in the zip file either? i downloaded the v2.1 for taranisplus location if that makes any difference. on a side note, i notice these sounds seem to be targeted towards planes, does anyone know of a sound pack targeted towards multicopters?
I've found the pack had everything I need for multi-rotor flying (flight modes etc) why not suggest the things you think are missing in the forum? Maybe they could be added to the next version. Don't forget that you can make your own sound files too..
Painless360 that's what I was mentioning in my first paragraph somewhat, files seemed to be missing in 2.1zip file. Do I need to DL the 2.0 version as well? Or another one no the taranisplus DL? And yes, recording my own soundpack seems like a fun side project!
Hi I've done the amber pack and I have two copy's of the tracks on the taranis the first lot have a dot then a dash in front of them but they don't work if I scroll past all of them I get the same list with out the dot and dash but they work how can I lose the first lot? Thanks
+Team British Knights You can plug the SD card into a computer (or connect to the Taranis over a USB connection) and select the files you don't want and delete them. I would slways make a copy of any directory you intend to change so you can always have a backup and can go back if needed. Best of luck.

You can't delete them from the radio, you need to plug the SD card into the PC or connect to the radio using a USB cable. I found sorting the audio files in the directory by date helped me spot the 'old ones'. Make a copy of the complete directory contents before you delete anything for safety.

If you watch any of my videos on upgrading to OpenTX 2.2 it'll explain how you also need to copy files to the SD card as well. The file that's played the start-up is called tada.wav. You need to make sure that that one is there, sometimes there a couple of options and you'll need to rename one of them to that file name to get it to play Best of luck

Painless360 first I tried to flash the firmware from openTX companion, seemed at first glance to be working, but got a messagebox swing it couldn't verify the firmware. Then I saw in a comment to your video of updating to opentx 2.2 that in order to update the bootloader to accept the opentx 2.2 you have to manually put the file on to the SD card, and so I went down that rabbit hole, and got in to a heavy of driver error, even though I got the manually installed drivers from open-tx.org, then I can't see either of the SD card or the eeprom
Not sure what 'heavy of driver error' is but I'd be tempted to delete the driver on the PC and start again. Remember to put the Radio in to USB mode by moving the horizontal trims to the center as you power on.. Best of luck!
Painless360 heavy should have been heap. I've tried deleting the driver, tried updating the driver, but no matter what it's the same problem, and every time in USB/eeprom/bootloader mode
I’m trying to get the word “stabilised” I have the way file on pc but it will down load to add card and can be seen on my jumper t18 but will not play. Any help would be most welcome

There are Amber packs for OpenTX 2.0 and OpenTX 2.1 that supported the changed indexing and added the extra support. Happy flying!

Not that I know of. If you find out I'd love to know..

AndyRC You can still select the switch by moving the one you want when you have it selected in the menu. This is covered in the series.

Yes you can, copy the SD card to somewhere on the PC and setup the links to it in Companion..

Extremely informative videos and thank you for taking the time to inform us in a way that is understandable. However, I have reached video 6 (adding custom sound) and I have hit a problem. I backed-up the original sounds on my computer and downloaded the Amber sound pack. All OK so far. I then tried to transfer the Amber pack across to the transmitter and it didn't download. So, I removed the SD card and did a download via the computer. It all seemed to download correctly and showed the content successfully on the SD card.
Unfortunately, on inserting the SD card into the transmitter I now have no sound at all (original or otherwise). What am I doing wrong? Please can you help.
Perhaps, at the age of 69 I should not have started a new technology venture but it seemed a lot more challenging and exciting than knitting!!
If check the individual files are in the right place in the SD card (we used OpenTX 2.0.17) in the video so check if you're using 2.1.x)..

Thanks for the info and for your time. Before I started to change the Firmware I decided to check the SD card files. Perhaps it is that I don't understand computer functionality. On the SD card I had created a file 'Amber Sound Pack' in order to differentiate between it and the original sounds. Having previously made a back-up of the Original sound pack installed and the Amber pack I decided to delete all sound files from the SD card and then reload the Amber sound pack WITHOUT any sub headings or folders. GUESS WHAT - IT WORKED! So it would seem that my addition of folders on the SD card somehow interfered with the ability of the transmitter to access the sound info.
Sorry for being so long-winded but I wanted to save your time and effort by providing feed-back and a solution for other users.

Yep, that would do it. The radio expects the files in very specific places - just follow the videos and you should be ok ;)
hey, thank you for all the great videos. helped me a lot. Now I have got a question. I added some voices in the "special function" menu. that works fine, but now when I turn on my taranis, the girl reads all the sounds (also the funny ones). Do you know how to chance this?
When you select the model the radio will read out all the switch positions you have set (throttle off, stabilise mode) etc. This is normal. I've never tried to disable this as its what you normally want..
Hi before you transfer all the new files do you have to delete all the sound files on the Taranis after you have backed them up?

Anything RC, Chris Clarke I would copy the originals so they are safe and then copy the new files over the top of the existing ones.

hey lee.. I have the amber sounds for 2.1.8 on my radio, I wondering why I have access to all the sounds but not to the number files in the sys directory? is there a way to get the number sounds.. maybe pick one I want and rename and copy it to the sounds directory? i'd have a switch for expo... now I have it saying "expo mode2" i'd like it to say "expo 20"... is there a way"thanks, bob

Is there a way to prevent it from playing the track on start-up?
For example, my Simulator model says:
"Simulator" once for start
"Timer On" for lap timer
"Arm/Disarm Motors" to signal between flying or menu mode (for Liftoff)
"High/Middle/Low Rates" whatever position it's on
I'd really like it to only announce Timer/Arm/Rates when a change occurs, and NOT on start-up.
Figured it out. Had to adjust the repeat option to "!-" no longer an issue. Thanks anyways, haha!

Lee, I am able to access Amber pack sounds through the OPEN TX Companion, but if I try to add a new sound that wasn't already in the pack like "mycoolbeepsound.wav" it will play the sound from the special functions screen, but once I assign it to the switch, it won't play the sound when the switch is used. Is there something in OPENTX that only recognizes known sounds? I even renamed the sound to one that was in the Amber pack and it still won't play. Very strange.
There is a limit to the name of the file. Rename the sound with less than 6 letters and try again...

I don't have my radio yet, but going through all the videos, and am through 5 or 6 so far... Just have to say, this appears to be the greatest radio ever.. I can use all my DSM helis I already have (Of course with the added module), I think I can even use the couple futaba quads I have, but even if I can't, I only have 2, so swapping them will be easy enough... If the gimbals on this radio are "ANYTHING" like my JR 12x, I will be in heaven!!! I love the weight and feel of my 12x, and this "looks" so much similar... Thank you for all the videos, it has been so very helpful, as I was very worried about programming it correctly... Using it with the TBS Crossfire... And, am excited! hehe (Like a little girl getting a pony for Xmas..LOL) Can't wait to check out your other videos, especially the CC3D. Picked up a used quad with one, and I am not familiar with it at all...

Hello - A few months back I upgraded my Taranis (non plus) from its original firmware to 2.1.8 and added the amber sound pack. Now the minute timer no longer says "minutes" it just reads out the number. Any idea how to get the minutes word to speak? Thanks!

Hi +Painless360 I have watched your latest videos on telemetry and came back to revisit this video to try to get the answer for my issue. I'm using a FLVSS to get telemetry to my X4R and into my radio. I managed to get it working but I can only get a reading of the digits before the point (for instance 15.46V it only reads 15V, or 3.88V it only reads 3V). The radio won't read the decimals. When say read, I mean "speak" because I can see on the screen the voltage in a 4 or 3 digit format, but there is no use when you flying fpv.Can you help? Thanks again, again and again.

Hi..being a new Taranis Radio user, your videos have helped a lot I have gone through splash screen model icons, sounds, etc. but what is puzzling me is when you picked you "test bench" model Amber says "Throttle Active". How did you program that?

+Wolf-Frag FPV I've set a throttle cut and when the throttle cut is active I setup the radio to play the 'Throttle disabled' sound and play 'Throttle Active' when in the other position. Hope this helps.
Can a sound file be added to the right and left sliders , and If so how is it done ?

is there a way to increase the volume at which a audio file was recorded... Ambers voice doesn't seem as loud as the taranis voice files?

I have made a wav file and transferred into en file on Taranis .it plays from the en file while in computer, unplug and then open sound file on Taranis , select same file and it won't play.it has the .wav like all the original files.

dude, something happened. when I turned my taranis on there were no sounds. when I reconnected it it said the sd card file had to be formatted, which would erase everything. what do I do?
Sounds like the SD card isn’t happy. I’d pop it out and see if you can read it on a PC. You’re right reformatting would delete everything on it. If you can read the card on the PC then I’d copy all of it for safety and maybe try another

I got it fixed. I had to take the sd card out of the taranis and put it directly into my computer. I apparently did something really wrong to it because after I formatted it I had to scan it and repair whatever I had done to mess it up. I managed to find the files I needed on a forum, which conveniently had the sounds I was wanting already on it. All I had to do then was download the files from the forum and transfer them to the sd card. Now it's working perfectly! Thanks for the help and hopefully if anyone else has the same problem I had they'll know how to fix it.

Look for a sound file called 'TaDa' on the SD card. That's the one that it plays on start-up. You can change it by renaming the sound you want played to that same name. Happy flying!
Hey painless..I just added the Amber pack to my TX. It works fine, except when I boot up my taranis, I'm no longer greeted by "welcome to taranis. In fact I get nothing at all..all other voice prompts works great..any thoughts would be welcomed. Thanks!

Really appreciate your channel and help.I have some how fudged the process you describe in this video. i saved the original sounds as suggested. after install of amber sound pack no change was observed. i then tried to delete what was on the sounds setting and reinstall the original sounds with no luck. Now when i turn on the taranis there is no sound, when i try to add a sound to a switch the taranis says no sounds on sd card. Can you make a video on how to fix this problem ? Thanks a bunch!!!

But did manage to download the amber sounds as found in OpenTx University as [Amber Sound pack for v2.2: hmvc.eu/Amber22.rar] but this does not have the two JPG,XLSX files listed under your SOUNDS file ( 5:08), which would be interesting to have.
Will not change the sound settings just yet until I've reveiwed how to save the 'as is' sounds and am more famillier with the Taranis - USB drive (G:) and Taranis drive (H:) and their files

I tried to do this and when I connect my taranis to the computer in bootloader mode it won't open any of the folders, then when I disconnect the usb it won't turn off unless I disconnect the battery. It just keeps the usb connected screen on.
I've nto seen that here, can you let me know what it is when you sort it out? I'd suggest trying another USB cable..
Painless360 it appears to be my laptop. The usb drives showed up as having an issue and it seems to be working fine now after windows ran a "fix" on it. Probably something to do with the two times my daughter spilled things in my laptop.

is there a way to set my switches so when I turn on my radio it doesn't tell me what position its in for example when I power my radio on it tells me Horizon mode engines disarm
You could setup the volume to be controlled by a slider and have that down when powering on maybe.. This is a suggestion for a future enhancement for OpenTX - github.com/opentx/opentx/issues/1445

so i see a bunch of *.txt files in your directory, mine has none either on the taranis or in the amber sound pack i downloaded. the amber sound pack only has files in the [SYSTEM] folder and not the additional files in the [en] folder. also where did you find the jpg and xlsx files? they werent in the zip file either? i downloaded the v2.1 for taranisplus location if that makes any difference.
on a side note, i notice these sounds seem to be targeted towards planes, does anyone know of a sound pack targeted towards multicopters?
I've found the pack had everything I need for multi-rotor flying (flight modes etc) why not suggest the things you think are missing in the forum? Maybe they could be added to the next version. Don't forget that you can make your own sound files too..
Painless360 that's what I was mentioning in my first paragraph somewhat, files seemed to be missing in 2.1zip file. Do I need to DL the 2.0 version as well? Or another one no the taranisplus DL?
And yes, recording my own soundpack seems like a fun side project!

Hi I've done the amber pack and I have two copy's of the tracks on the taranis the first lot have a dot then a dash in front of them but they don't work if I scroll past all of them I get the same list with out the dot and dash but they work how can I lose the first lot? Thanks
+Team British Knights You can plug the SD card into a computer (or connect to the Taranis over a USB connection) and select the files you don't want and delete them. I would slways make a copy of any directory you intend to change so you can always have a backup and can go back if needed. Best of luck.

You can't delete them from the radio, you need to plug the SD card into the PC or connect to the radio using a USB cable. I found sorting the audio files in the directory by date helped me spot the 'old ones'. Make a copy of the complete directory contents before you delete anything for safety.
Hi mate great video I just updated my radio to 2.2 and I don’t get any sound on the open TX screen the file is on the card all the other sounds work when moving switch but only the open TX screen can you help please.

If you watch any of my videos on upgrading to OpenTX 2.2 it'll explain how you also need to copy files to the SD card as well. The file that's played the start-up is called tada.wav. You need to make sure that that one is there, sometimes there a couple of options and you'll need to rename one of them to that file name to get it to play Best of luck

Just for every ones information - when you name the Audio files - they must be 8 characters or less .. otherwise they will not be recognized.

Painless360 first I tried to flash the firmware from openTX companion, seemed at first glance to be working, but got a messagebox swing it couldn't verify the firmware. Then I saw in a comment to your video of updating to opentx 2.2 that in order to update the bootloader to accept the opentx 2.2 you have to manually put the file on to the SD card, and so I went down that rabbit hole, and got in to a heavy of driver error, even though I got the manually installed drivers from open-tx.org, then I can't see either of the SD card or the eeprom
Not sure what 'heavy of driver error' is but I'd be tempted to delete the driver on the PC and start again. Remember to put the Radio in to USB mode by moving the horizontal trims to the center as you power on.. Best of luck!
Painless360 heavy should have been heap. I've tried deleting the driver, tried updating the driver, but no matter what it's the same problem, and every time in USB/eeprom/bootloader mode
