Lyrics:
Compact enhancement in your hand
you were lifted from your mind
floating like a ghost
no sense of self
or time
smiling slow and steady
you were young and you were free
it used to come so easily
now it takes more
more to feel like it used to
more to feel anything at all
Holy connection, so unexplained, so past control
we spoke all night in a language only we could know
smiling slow and steady
we were young and we were free
it used to come so easily
now it takes more
more to feel like it used to
more to feel anything at all
every time you've got it figured out
you're just figuring out you're wrong
every time you get to where you're going
you're wishing you were gone.
it used to come so easily
now it takes more
more just to feel like it used to,
more to feel anything at all.

I always come back to TBS.
Spirit spoken.
Such a beautiful song.
"Seems like every time you've got it figured out, you're just figuring out you're wrong"
Damn...
life simulator
life in general
I've followed tbs since they first started and ,as I've gotten older, I can see the transition of maturity via life's adversities within their sound & lyrics.
This song is so great.
the difference came when john rejoined
God damn this song and the emotion. I literally got chills when he said "Seems like every time you've got it figure out
You're just figuring out you're wrong
Seems like every time you get to where you're going
You're wishing you were gone"
I bought this album on apple music almost ten years ago in middle school. Little did I know, the impact itd make
Easily my favorite. I have listened to this on repeat for an hr. Truly great!
Best song from the new album my first time enjoying them since Louder now. Good comeback album at least for me I just hope they keep moving towards the sound of this song it's very calming and for some reason the drums in this seem to be my favorite part idk why they just have a great calming rhythm to them without being too boring.
Been listening to taking back sunday since I was in high school 20 years ago. Love this song and the maturation in this album
Yay, lots of new Taking Back Sunday songs! I love this one so much!
I love your username!!! Mister Moony for the win!
Best song off the album.
I haven't been this excited about TBS since the TAYF era! I may be in the minority but I love the direction they're taking with this new album.
Finally it's great to hear TBS experimenting with some new sounds and ideas. Definitely a stand out track from what has proven to be a really solid album!!!
I'm so happy! NEW TBS!!!!!
I knew right then id do it all again to feel anything at all
So much emotion in this song
2:13 part and onward is so ethereal
not a bad song on this album, its incredible
Can't wait for the new album
I think this is mostly because of John's vocals, but this reminds me more of a Straylight song than a TBS one.
OMG! Dam it's so real! It hits me so much!! I love this band so much!! (':
Beautiful song
Brand New is a prime example of a band who does something new every single album.
Fair enough. But for what it's worth, it's a firm belief of mine that the best of Taking Back Sunday is much, much greater than the best of Brand New, and so many other bands as well. For some people, this is actually their favourite TBS album. It's not mine, but a lot of people have different favourites from them, and if you ask why they like that one the most, they'll probably tell you it's because that album connects to them the most. If all their music is trying to invoke that kind of emotion, and some work better for some people than others, in a sense, they're trying to do the same thing every time, and yet they aren't. I can't imagine asking Adam what the primary emotional pallet of this album is, the same way that other albums from other artists often have strong themes. "Flicker, Fade" sounds nothing like "Stood a Chance". "El Paso" sounds nothing like "Call Me In the Morning". "Ghost Man On Third" sounds nothing like "You Know How I Do". TAYF was an innovative album. I think they still have that same innovation.
Yes they are, even more so then tbs, but tbs have evolved and matured and each album curtain my takes on it's own, incredible feel and story . Brand new, tbs, and manchester orchestra r the bands that offer brilliant maturity and relevant lyrics on every song on every album.
Love this song. So much meaning to it. This is by far my favourite album that they've put out. It has such a great tone throughout it.
So young and fresh.
this effing hurts...
the beginning of this song reminds me of ghost man on third
This is my favorite song off of their new album. It seriously shows how much more mature this band is compared to TAYF. Even though TAYF is my favorite musically. Lyrically this album just blows it away.
Goosebumped to FUCK! wow!
Got that way with the live version of there is no "i" in team live for tayf! So amazing, I really love this album!
Any ideas on what this song means?
James you go to hell. Every album is unique in itself. Please name one other band that has released as many unique albums. This is one of my favorite bands, and has been since I first heard them. All the songs touch on the most powerful of emotions. I have a distinct connection and memory to every song. But I do respect opinion as I do for all music lovers, it's all about what you like. :)
wtf with the ads... they suck hard... i got a song by erick blu which sucked really bad, i don't need that stuff...
adBlock!
Tocy777isback0414 i don't like to get filled with ad-ons but i guess that will be the only alternative
do yourself a favour, get google chrome as your browser and download adblock for free, takes 2 seconds, and it saves you hours! Took me ages to get round to it but its such a simple thing to do, I don't know why everyone doesn't just do it.
MrEMinor Doesn't that take away money from the youtubers who make a living on youtube?
***** that's why i don't complain about ads in general, but other music, specially when not even related, just please no
They have a few pretty cool and experimental standout songs, but overall this album kinda feels forced and recycled like their self titled. Honestly I feel like they should've stopped after new again.
Joey it doesn't necessarily mean that it sounds similar to one of their previous songs, but it's got that same old tbs format and predictability. I find myself more often than not shaking my head when I hear their newer stuff because it's got some serious potential but they refuse to do anything new with it so it always feels the same. They've never ventured outside their comfort zone and therefore haven't really evolved or grown as musicians as a lot of their current fans will argue that they have..
Is this the divorce album? When members of this band suffer and make the worst album of their careers? Sure sounds like it.
