Still listening in 2022, and even though Fred is my favorite backup singer I absolutely love Matt's energy, headbanging and smiles during this entire concert. He really gets me into the songs by how much he is enjoying himself
This may be the best performance from this show, which is saying a lot when you remember how good the “Set Phasers to Stun” “Carpathia” and “Everything Must Go” performances are. One subtle thing about this version that I always loved is Isaac’s “oooh’s” that he’s singing in the chorus. Its very soft in the mix, but once you realize its there, you realize what a nice layer it adds to what Adam, Fazzi and Mark are doing.

Unpopular opinion: this lineup worked better than when the original lineup got back together. New Again wasn’t one of their best by a long shot, but everything after Nolan came back was ass. Matt Rubano had more of a right to stay as the bassist than Sean Cooper has. Fred is still my favorite of the backing vocalists, but I also feel after watching this that Fazzi wasn’t utilized enough at all on New Again’s tracks. Tell All Your Friends might be arguable as their best album, but there’s a reason that lineup split and I don’t think they should have reunited
