Now that Reynaldo Lopez has actually hit the IL, is he a flat out drop? His numbers don't seem sustainable and he hasn't been pitching as well as ha was earlier in the year anyway. He has mostly been a Reliever, not sure if his arm can take the added innings yet.
I dropped him already. He will probably be limited like Crochet for the rest of the season, when he returns.

I've said his numbers aren't sustainable all year yet he somehow has. Now that he's on the IL, you can drop if you absolutely need the space but I'd stash if possible.
@fantasyendgamemlb my team has had lots of injuries lately and I have no IL spots available, so that also made it easier for me to drop him.

Yeah, I'm kind of in the same situation. Two of my teams have far too many players on the IL and they're not mostly the same players. My main league only has 2 IL spots but my other leagues have 4 IL spots.
I started off hot but from early July through now, I'm getting crushed with injuries. I'm holding Lopez for now, mainly because he qualifies as RP/SP and I may want to start him in my RP spot in September. I'm slightly under in SP starts but I am way under in RP starts. Good luck, hope you finish strong.

To be fair, Chris is quickly becoming the baseball guy too! I'm also a football guy - won my first fantasy championship in 1999.

As a veteran of many fantasy baseball stretch runs in a redraft league I have made it standard operating procedure to unload any rookie phenom pitcher I have had no later than the All Star break. If I had Skene's he would have been gone by now. By the end of August they are all inevitably shut down, moved to the bullpen, have starts skipped or are sent down to the minors to limit the innings. They won't be there for you in the championship when you need them. This year I had the Dodgers Gavin Stone and traded him on June 2nd right after his complete game shutout of the White Sox to a team in need of pitching for Jazz Chisholm. Flash forward to today with Jazz on the Yankees and there is a reason I am in first place. The Crotchet owner tried to trade him to me more than once in the last month and I said no thanks, his value is soon to be gone.
Great strategy, although I think Skenes might be the lone exception. Not because the Pirates are technically in contention for a Wild Card spot (lol) but because Skenes himself is exceptional. Him being out there is good for baseball and he's becoming not just the face of the franchise but of the game. I wouldn't be shocked if he slows to 5 IP late in September but I don't think he gets shut down. Any other rookie SP that flashes - sell high.
@@fantasyendgamemlb Thank you. I learned the hard way LOL! Skenes is a generational talent to be sure. I remember people questioning the Pirates when they took him number 1 over his LSU teammate Dylan Crews. That looks pretty smart right now. Keep up the good work!
