the mid grade red you added at 10ish minutes and the yellow at the end really both made that just come together so amazingly. i was just starting to try thig out on a few mechs. thanks for another awesome tutorial

I'll have to try this one out. It really makes the miniature come to life.
Also great way to spice up mechs with a somewhat subdued camo pattern, I reckon. ComStar is nice in their shiny spooky white, but adding a few small tidbits of glowing heatsinks would make them really pop on the table I think. Also stuff that uses olive drab will become visually way more interesting I guess.

I agree, you can add color to something that lacks the visual pop beyond a couple lasers and cockpit with these details.

Ive done PPC glow, but not OSL technique. I made the tips of the PPC look blue/charred. Good video man. Great stuff.

I bet this would be cool on a laser barrel too

Great video. It seems to me or the mini has some kind of gloss varnish? I'd love to see a wash tutorial in the mech.

Excellent! I wonder how this effect would look with different colors like purple, blue, and white?!

Thank you! You can do it with any color build up. Blue and purple will look great as well

Can anyone tell me what the music at 1:00 is? I always hear similar music on this channel but I can't find it anywhere.

Have you ever considered a digital cammo pattern? Seems like something that might be cool.

Considered, yes, but I've also painted checkers and digital is checkers with more steps. At this scale it is difficult but not impossible to get a good result but pales in comparison to 28mm scale tanks and such with stencil use. If anything a map or true scale dropship sized model would be a better candidate for the pattern.

Can you do a mech that has overheated?

I would just add more of the same heat glow to several areas around vents and weapons. Looking at the record sheet for heat sink locations would be extra points for accuracy.

What would a good army painter set to use for painting mechs?

The Wargames Delivered Starter set would be a good jumping off point. Any of the mega sets that include the quick shade washes are useful as well if you want to get a lot of paints in one purchase.
