I'm glad I saw this. I was about to buy a Sense 2. I have Afib. I wanted this watch for that. Thanks for saving me $300.00.

Do you have to have fitbit premium for the afib notification to work beyond the first 6 months (when you have sign on premium plan)

Exactly my question. There is also the ecg built in in the first bit charge 6 and fir but sense. My question is whtmether they still work after the 6 months.

I do have afib. Is there a smart watch that would benefit me?

I'm a suffer and on medication. My fitbit sense 2 works very well with self testing and automatic monitoring. It often tells me of nighttime problems that I otherwise wouldn't be aware of. Good bit of kit imo .

I see you are wearing the ring. Is that ring any good for Afib? Thanks for such informative video.

Just pick a birth date over 22 and answer no to prior Afib episodes

Might be worth mentioning if this is real or just software.
I'm guessing that it is dependent on using a Chinese cloud service that users AI.
The sheer amount of disclaimers you have mentioned is very funny 😂

Apparently this is a software solution through a special algorithm and not a change to any hardware in the devices, as it's now available on existing watches through an update to the tethering app. Since it has an FDA stamp of approval on it after detailed reviews of clinical studies, I would imaging it's not 'fake'. It is concerning, however, as to where the collected heart wave data is being send for analysis by this new algorithm.
This is an odd situation as Fitbit is owned by Google which, for many services, is banned from China, yet these watches are made in China. So again, it's worth considering all the potential ramifications of participating in this form of "irregular heart rate notification" beyond just being told something was detected by a Fitbit watch or band. In addition to drug companies being interested in flagged results for potential target marketing of their products, I would imagine health insurance companies would like to know if and when a verifiable irregular heart beat has occurred in a client (or potential client). There's a real Pandora's Box being opened with the US FDA approval of this algorithm analysis approach to direct health monitoring and reporting. That approval adds a level of validity to these readings which could influence corporate decisions down to the individual patient level. Thanks for your comment @Pablo Eleven!

Ha ha ha!!! Thank you for pointing out this info!

Yea, I got a real mixed feeling about this when I received the info from Fitbit on my Sense smartwatch. Since it works on just about every Fitbit out there, and there's a huge installed base of these devices in the mainstream, it felt important to ad a moment of reflection as to what's possibly going on. Thanks for watching!

Great video n life saving feature for people age above 60. Fit bit is costly in India n poor battery life. So does this kind of continuous Afib measuring function available in Honor Watch GT 3 r Huawei GTR 3 r Amazefit latest watch etc which r reasonable price n gives good battery backup? Pl reply sir n I want yo buy for my mom

Thanks for the privacy policy warning. Yeah I won't be sending Google my heart rhythm info. No fitbit for me.

Why is it such a big deal if google knows your heart rhythm info? Lol. Conspiracy much!?

I use an Apple Watch and Apple knows the route I take to work, how long I sleep, how fast I walk, how fast I run, and even how much time is spend sitting down. It really doesn’t matter.

@@TheBestFruit Conspiracy? No. Educated? Yes. I worked for the world's largest electronic medical records company. I know what that info can and is used for. It's your decision to share all you want. But an educated and smart person holds their cards tight... Not disclosing all their medical info to just anybody. Ever buy life insurance? By all means, if you like high rates.. Tell them all! Only a fool would voluntarily share any and all personal biometric and medical information to Google.

Can't wait for Google's Rumba robot vacuum cleaners to map my house and everything in it and recommend a toilet brush scrub because it doesn't see one by my toilet. Hard to say how far this stuff can go. For heart data, yea, I'd err on the side of caution, especially if insurance companies get ahold of it for determining your rates.
