I'm cool with all of this apart from bones. Will store bought bones be okay for my puppy?

I don't recommend bones for a number of reasons. At the vet clinic it is not unusual to see bones causing intestinal obstruction with can be life threatening, fractured teeth requiring extraction or severe constipation requiring an enema under GA. Raw bones also present the risk of e.coli and salmonella among other risks. These may be acceptable to you if you are a household of adults but if there are children, elderly or immuno-compromised individuals then there may be a significant human health risk. Many people will argue that they have fed bones for years and never had any issues and while many/most dogs will be fine, we see the serious problems that develop as a result of bone feeding and in my opinion the potential benefits of giving bones (and there is little evidence that I am aware of to suggest any benefit) does not outweigh the risks. I hope that helps
