Craziest thing was watching them play Mike over their TV when I was there about 2 weeks ago. Now I’m sitting at home watching him eat those same delicious pancakes I had stuffed in my mouth.

😮Elena's is pretty good for Filipino food, I've eaten there several times. The shrimp sarciado is the bomb. But you need to try Thelma's which is also in Waipahu. I love Thelma's special, which is lechon with tomato and onion (the original).
Also you're right, Filipino food needs to be eaten with rice. I can eat up to 3 bowls of rice when eating a tableful of Filipino dishes.

Menya is good because of the big pieces of kakuni, but taste wise I still choose Wagaya Ramen. Especially with a large menu of delicious sides and other ramen as well.
That prime rib dish looked great
The prime rib loco moco at some ABC stores especially the one in Wailea “Island Gourmet” is 🔥 but that one looks mops too

another reason why Hawaii feels like home. It would be cool if you linked up with a local and camp on the beach and do catch and cook. some ppl camp out for a week and enjoy the land. thats why theres lots of lifted tacomas so ppl can access the beach.

I'm Pinoy, but the only Pinoy food I eat is Bud Bud. My parents would make it in their house in the 1980s.
Sweet purple rice i grew up on. Steamed in banana leaf. My Grandma made it all the time. Love her "puto" too.

The char siu slices from menya are not that big. They cut larger slices for Mikey Chen. Prob because they know he runs a big time foodie channel so they are trying to impress.
I feel that Filipino food will have a huge impact in the culinary scene in the near future. It's about time that Filipino food gets the spotlight and as more talented Filipino chefs get to show their skills and bring the culture to the mainstream.
