    Thanks for sharing. A few things you forgot to show : 1. Raise the outdrive and remove the speedometer cable.
    2. The way you remove the trim rod is a good way to bend one of the trim arms. You need to tighten them together with clamps
    3. There is a trick to disconnect the lower after you remove 6 nuts - put a 2x4 wood block on top and lift the lower unit with your boat motor. No need to use your muscles.

    So you don’t chip the propeller? You only have a half of your prop left 😂😂 I see you learn from experience! Hahaha, great video thanks for the help

    By the looks of it, it's good to see that I'm not the only one attempting this for the first time. Makes me wonder why the normal standard manual format doesn't include a "Challenges" section, what else would create motivation to study it? :)
    More importantly - you gave me an important note to my reminder list, "bring shovel" (as the boat stands on grass in a small hill and without any possibility to lower the front of the boat enough).
    Kudos for sharing experience!

      @@ZachsGarage1 Yes, I´ve watched that one as well but managed to get it off without having to connect the battery again. Also good advice with holding together the trim cylinders - I used some straps.

    Thanks for the videos! I will be removing and replacing my 87 ciera 2450s 5.7 engine and outdrive within the next 2 years. I think I'm gonna get a ready to start engine from Michiganmotorz. The outdrive I'm not sure yet. Everything is omc now. Any advice for another Zach? Thank you again

    I have a 2000 Bayliner. It was in bad shape sheen I bought it last summer. I replaced most of the deck. Then had the carb rebuilt and a tune up. I have gear oil leaking out of the water intake on the outdrive. Do you have a video on repairing the oil leak? Thanks

    • @ZachsGarage1
      @ZachsGarage1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm, oil coming out of the water intake? Maybe oil is leaking through the seal on the shaft where the water pump impeller is?

    Can you remove the outdrive if you cannot put it in forward gear ??? ( Gears are jammed )

    • @ZachsGarage1
      @ZachsGarage1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe, might break something if you force it off. Try to get the shift lever visible from the back side of the outdrive as close to straight as possible (as close to forward gear as possible)

    How does the gear oil attach to the drive

    • @ZachsGarage1
      @ZachsGarage1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has a little push plug, so it only opens up when the outdrive is pushed all the way on
