Fishing in Terraria can give you some powerful bonus items, resources and potion materials. A lot of people never bother with it though! What if you could fish from the comfort of your own base? In this episode we look at how to make mini biomes that you can fish in and show how to stop them spreading all over your base! Enjoy :)

I know this is hella old but my farm is wayyyy bigger than it should be. I triple checked the measurements but it still is too big.

EVERY BOSS AND MINI-BOSS DROPS LOOT!!!
Stone slabs are more economical with stone; 1 to 1. The only difference is you use the heavy work bench instead of the forge.

There's a ruler one can use, by opening inventory and clicking on top left icon, it will give easy to use measuring tool.

Yes! Although they are kind of useful for the well-fed buff!

Pretty jealous of the whole fishing mechanic right now. I play primarily on Ps4 and PsVita which is still behind the Pc version a bit. I tried the Pc version but not a huge fan of keyboard and mouse controls when I can just veg out on my couch with a controller after a long day. Looking forward to more, Sir! Thank you for uploading!
Hi Robert! I was wondering about the controller, is it hard to play a game like Terraria with a gamepad?
To me it seems quite fiddly at times and I thought the controller would lack the precision to do some tasks.
That said when I get home I would rather relax on the couch than sit upright at a computer screen! :P
Couldnt u connect your computer with the tv (or whatever) and just play with controller? I did this with other games
hey dude, im just about 1 year late for this video, but i just got back into terraria. Im not aware of any new/updated fishing biome guides of yours, so i assume this is the best you've come up with. This leads me to 1 question:
Wouldn't it be easier/more efficient to make only 1 pool of water per 2 biomes? you make a pool in the middle, make jungle on the left side, make desert on the right side. so if you're fishing from the left of the pool, you get jungle drops, if you fish from the right side, you get desert drops?

how would you make a jungle version of the biome? do you need blizzard blocks
Download TEdit and copy-paste the traps across different worlds, itll be ALOT easier than rebuilding it

Juan Luis Oh! About 250-300 buckets of water! It seems like a lot but it actually only takes under a minute! :)

HappyDays you put 1 block,then start clicking as fast as you can and it starts to get full quickly,how do you know how much blocks you have to put in each place

Hey ho! Nice tuts! One question: can you put a corrupted biome in a world with crimson? I definitely subbed!
+Benjamin Albers yes you can, then you need to get the seeds and stones from the world with the corruption and then place them in your crimson world

they will spread slowly trough dirt and after wall of flesh they can also spread through other stones

Hey, does anyone know of a really good Crimson keymold trap? I want one where you can build it in an existing Crimson biome, because i DESPARATELY need the Clentaminator because the Hallow and Crimson are over 20% EACH in my world, and in order to get the clentaminator, i need the Steampunker, and in order to get her I need to defeat the mechanical bosses, and in order to do THAT i need better weapons!
Starting to think the 5-tile thick walls is not included in the 40 down and 45 across, if the pool was 25 tiles and the walls were 5 tiles, you'd only have 5 tiles remaining on either side (looking at before he opens the room up), and it seems like there's way more than 5 before he opens it up, so i want to ask if the 45 across and 40 down include the 5-tile walls or if the 40 down and 45 across is the interior space within the walls?

i prefer making cool looking cubes to height 302' on surface.
also i could place walls behind it all to prevent mob spawn, or else there will be mobs from 5 biomes in the same area, and in hardmode its a nightmare.
i would place a storage area inside every fishing biome, with the wood from that spesific biome, to put all the guest fishes and crates in.
What are the measurements for the desert fishing hole? I can't seem to get it to prox the biome change :/
It actually takes 1500 sand blocks or hardened, but not bricks. I know it's ridiculous but it actually takes that much sand.
Do you have to remove the walls for this to work?

Can you place these biomes left and right of each other or do they have to be stacked? Also if they can be left/right of each other, this won't effect the biome on top correct?
Do these biomes correspond to the correct level for the Angler quests or is that something you will have to just go out into the world to complete?

Hey happydays, I love your afk farm videos. Just a question, sometimes your fishing quest is either fishing on the surface of the biome or under the biome. Would this work for fishing both surface and underground? Lol

Thanks for the feedback, I really like when people let me know they enjoy our vids! :)Unfortunately these fishing biomes most likely count as 'surface' farms (even though they're slightly underground).Using a depth meter (from cave bats) underground starts at roughly 500 blocks deep (on small worlds) and that's when the loot pool changes for mob drops and fishing quests! Hope this helps! :)

I made a corruption Fish Farm and it took me 1 gold crate, 1 silver crate, 2 wooden crates and 10 bass before I got an Ebonkoi xD

This is really confusing. You say that it have to be 65 deep in total with the gap. you say the gap need to be 20 deep and then you say that the room need to be 40 high, which is 60 in total. So does the room need to 45 high and the gap 20 or the room 40 and the gap 25?

If it has to be 20 blocks between each biome so they don’t overlap, then shouldn’t all the walls be 20 blocks in every direction rather than 5 because surely there’s a biome above your top room and to the sides of every room. I’m pretty much a beginner and I’m on console so maybe I’m a bit confused 🤷♂️

From the bottom of the previous biome you go down 20 blocks. Then you clear out 40 deep and 45 wide (you can choose wider). Add 5 block layer of blocks that can't get contaminated. Then you use biome blocks within that area until you're happy with its design.
Water needs to be at least 25 wide and minimum of 12 deep. I prefer 15-20 deep.
Happy, there's some fish we need to catch at surfaces and some that we need to catch at cave layers... Cave 1, Cave 2... How that works in this case? You are creating your Biome in Cave 1, Cave 2, but and the surfaces one?
***** Hi DarkKyugara! Basically I build 'surface' layer biome farms in this vid. To get the 'cavern' layer fish you'd build them exactly the same, just about 500+ blocks underground! :)

Pflaffy TheDog Hi Pflaffy! Great question. You need to put Terraria on 'windowed mode' (in options menu) then select and item that's basic (like a torch or a candle). Then finally you click the Terraria icon in your hotbar. If you can still hear the music from Terraria it's worked! Hope this helps :D

I don't rly undetstand why but when I made my biomes underground 50x55 (including the 5 block edge) and 20 blocks down from the previous biome just like in the vid my hallow biome even tho it's this far away from my newly made corruption biome, the corruption won't spread at all and the hallow music still plays for the most of it except a few edges, I even used the clentaminator to revert the blocks surrounding my biome boxes just incase but no luck, hallow still seems to overlap even tho its 30+ blocks away.. I don't know what to do :(

No. That's just to stop biome blocks from spreading.
For sky biomes, just mine out a sky island and fill with water.
I followed in in my artificial biome, the jungle biome theme and music did play, but I am not catching anything at all on the waters, as if they're dud?
you need at least 300 blocks of water that are connected and aren't covered by blocks above

You make them small enough that it fills your screen.
You can expand the biome sideways for summoning creatures to kill while your fishing.
The biome doesn't have to be massive either.
Remember 20 blocks down from the bottom of a previous biome. Then 40 blocks down is the bottom of the biome. 45 blocks wide (you can go as wide as you desire).
Make the 5 block wall so biomes don't spread or mix.
Don't forget that you will need to repeat these biomes at 500 and below to count as caverns.
What I do is a 60 block wide are completely mined out down to 1000. It allows me to build any biome that I need except for dungeon biome.

When I make the 40x45 area I line the inner part of it with stone brick not the outside?? I feel like it's going to be really small if I do it like that. And I don't want it to be small. Can someone help me out and tell me if I make the layer of bricks on inside/outside of the 40x45. Thanks :)

You can make it however wide and tall as you desire. Just make sure that you have a 5 block layer of blocks that can't get contaminated by crimson/hallow/corruption.
Remember 20 blocks below previous biome.
