The roller cover is the single most troublesome feature of my Rogue. Had nothing but trouble with it. Leaks like a sieve in heavy rain, leaks dust like you wouldn’t believe. I’ve had the motor replaced once. The grab rail keeps warping - it’s been replaced twice. Had 2 Toyota recalls on it. I’m looking to get rid of it and install a canopy instead. Do you know what the weight of the roller cover unit is?

All good bro Thanks for your concern, I did that on my own whilst timing the 5mm jut forward that it made when recalibrating…..eventually worked and took three goes to fully close All’s well that ends well….managed to dodge the rain in time Obviously I will not be touching it again till I roll into my local…. But Thanks again for your time and energy…..I DO appreciate it 👍
Hi jason, I had this exact same problem on my hilux rogue which is only 3 months old..apparently its an electrical issue with the motor. Not very good by EGR
@@yeahmate94 yeah, apparently it’s the two sensors within the track itself, they miss read where the track is and so it goes back to hard I’m still waiting for it to be fixed by Toyota another three weeks apparently 🤷♂️
I have flattened my battery and it stopped working complitely after that. any diy things i could do or its trip to toyota? it doesnt calibrate and even the tub lights doesnt work. new ecu and roller motor has been fitted not so long ago.
All the vehicle door lock/unlock functions are controlled by the vehicles smart key remote. If you lose the only key you have then the procedure to code a new key will involve replacement of computers
Hi Thanks for getting in touch. This specific roller cover which incorporates the sports bar is a Toyota part which can be purchased for the HIlux Rogue and is not available for purchase for a different model. May I suggest www.egrauto.com for a selection of roller covers.
@@nunawadingtoyota8134 Thank you for your answer. Actually my Hilux is the Adventure, same than Rogue but Adventure is the name applied in Dubai. So we can purchase directly from TOYOTA ? Even in Middle East or in Europe ? Is it Toyota Part or EGR brand ? Thanks.
Hi Cristiano In Australia parts for the roller cover can only be ordered by VIN No. For vehicles sold in Australia. The roller cover is a Toyota/EGR collaboration and their website may have a product to suit your application.
Hi Thanks for getting in touch. Currently we do not have a listing for cross bars that are suitable with the roller cover side rails. I did contact EGR, the manufacturer of the roller cover and they also do not have a listing specific to the hilux roque. Interestingly enough, the Rogue owner’s manual supplement lists a maximum weight of 90kg that can be mounted on crossbars fitted to the roller cover side rails. It also states that crossbars are available separately.
Absolutely garbage. I have constant issues. Sometimes, the lights in the tray stay on and drain my battery. You don't notice them being on, on a brighter sunny day.

Get someone to push and pull on the roller cover while you do it. Give the tab a good push

My tub fills up with water when it rains so bad can I do anything to help stop water coming in
Our brand new rogue is in the workshop after 3 months..apparently the motor is burnt out. It opens and doesn’t close.

There is a midi fuse on the battery for the power supply. Check that first if the vehicle was jump started

Please lubricate the spirals inside the canister and recheck operation.
