What Should be the Next GI Joe Classified Series HasLab?

- Yeah, the GI Joe Classified Series Cobra Rattler just got completed a few days ago, but why not immediately start coming up with some wish lists for the G.I. Joe counterpart vehicle?
Which Joe vehicle would you like to see roll out next year?
I really want a Tomahawk or Killer WHALE and I don't care how much space that they would take up. They could even cost $500.00 each and I would still be on board.
I'm with you! :-)
Most definitely, the HAVOC would be awesome, but we might need to MOBAT to get the last of the 13 finished
Yeah we do!
Excellent video. I personally prefer the WHALE. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it!
STRAIGHT UP HAS LAB needs to do the
AIR CRAFT CARRIER I DARE YOU HASBRO LETS GOOOOOOOOO
LOL
Great picks, Jeffrey! Definitely Killer WHALE...I'm still hoping for a non Haslab S.H.A.R.C
Thanks Ralph! The SHARC and Devil Fish are on my short list of vehicles I'm hoping we see soon!
Not a gi joe collector but logic would presume that a ground vehicle for the joes makes sense ,in fact it should have came before a rattler .
They've been mixing and matching so it works out.
The WHALE is my Holy Grail.
Mine too!
Haslabs wanted? WHALE and or Warthog. 💯 🍻 Then Moray and or Bugg. It'll be the Mauler or Mobat likely like peeps have said. Future air HASLABS? A Tomahawk. A Nightraven later on with a tier that is Raven figure:). I'd like a Thundermachine, Snowcat, SHARC (2 seater like Sunbow style!!!), Skyhawk for retail releases coming hopefully along with other releases. 🍻 💯
We've gotta get the Sky Hawk at retail. Makes too much sense.
Rolling Thunder!
That would be a lot of fun!
The Mobat is my number one. Ramen Toys is making a tank in Classified scale. But I need a Steeler.
Would definitely get a Whale. Would need a place for it but that's a tomorrow problem.
I know you're doing ground stuff but a Tomahawk is high on my list.
I'm looking forward to how they pull off the MOBAT.
@@LylesFigureFiles Same. It is my dream Haslab. I hope they do like you suggested and add a spot or two for other figures.
I ordered the Ramen Tank figuring that Hasbro probably won’t make one or won’t do it for a few years.
@@markd9803 I ordered it too. If Hasbro makes a Mobat, then I have two tanks I guess. The Ramen one looks decent.
I would love MOBAT (or Mauler) with Steeler/heavy metal (which ever the driver on the haslab is and then the other is a tier) cross country as tier 2. Then Slugger driver as tier 3
Aww man, that's too many vehicles I'd get cheated out of if all the drivers were tiers. Maybe they'd make them Night Force?
@LylesFigureFiles true. If we had one of the tanks i feel we would get that driver then 2 other figures. One lame troop builder then an actual named charcter that has no chmace of being made like defiant's guy
Definitely would want a killer Whale haslab. It would have to be priced right, not have such a high number minimum, and no filler tiers. Include Cutter, maybe a generic joe diver, and maybe a night force deep six. Save regular release of deep six for a general release.
You know with the figures impacting the cost of these HasLabs, I wonder if that would be a case where they could do no extra figures besides Cutter and keep the price lower?
As long as it gets me an accurate WHALE and Cutter, I’d be fine with that.
A troop transport would be cool.
Which one were you thinking?
What's this??? A Lyles Midnight Special video??
I know right 😂
Yeah putting in that OT
:-) I actually recorded that one before the live ;-)
For next year I prefer the mauler. Well, i actually prefer the mobat but tbh i think they could actually get that out as a non-haslab, even if they had to slightly raise the price point.
At some point i want a moray, night raven, whale, skystriker, snow cat and probably a thunder machine I guess. I do not care how big some of these would have to be, I want ‘em. Lol
Not upset with any of your choices at all! :-)
I think Mobat or Mauler is the most likely choice with Mobat being my preference for the first 13. I think it maybe the X-30 Conquest or Sky Striker. I think the Sky Striker is not likely do to size and the fail from a few years ago with the 3.75” scale. My top choice is Killer Whale. I hope they announce the Killer Whale before I begin 3D resin printing.
I'd prefer to not have one of the OG 13 be stuck behind a crowd funded wall.
@@CursedCrew1981 I can definitely agree with that too. I wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on the original 13 either. Of course you can make the argument that Wild Bill, Clutch, and Breaker was only purchased through a vehicle. My guess is Wild Bill will come out separately too. Honestly, I’m just holding out to finish the 82 - 86 teams and I’ll probably stop collecting. That’s the years I was buying as a kid.
The Mauler is getting a lot of love here! Would the Skystriker be much bigger than the Rattler?
@@LylesFigureFiles The Sky Striker is 4.5 to 5 feet long compared to the Rattler at 3 feet long and wide.
WHALE would be my choice. But we are now getting into vehicles where we really only need 1 because the size. This may also be a $400 price. Comes with Cutter and a tier could be a comic version of Deep Six in his non-SHARC version. Maybe include a dive uniform for him too? MOBAT has a disadvantage with RAMEN coming out with some good 6” scale options that would cut into the possible sales. I don’t have the nostalgic connection to the other vehicles you discussed, but again, these are probably single support HASLABS moving forward with really anything now. It might be harder to get the numbers the first 3 achieved as people were usually getting multiples. I know I did.
Oooh comic book version of Deep Six. Yeah, let's make that happen.
A lot of interesting choices. I’d love for them to do the Whale or HAVOC. Mauler or MOBAT would be nice, but I preordered a Ramen Tank already. They still have their early bird pricing for a few more days. Rolling Thunder would be awesome, I had it as a kid, but it might be too big for them to make. I’d buy Rolling Thunder, even if it was 5-6 feet long and like $500, since you would need only one. Can’t see anyone troop building Rolling Thunder. I don’t remember the Mean Dog, but it looks cool. All the rest I remember from my childhood, either having it or a friend owning it or seeing them in a shelf as a kid.
I don't know how many of the Joe vehicles I'd army build so they're mostly a one and done for me.
The MOBAT is iconic and would probably be Hasbro's first choice. Some of those other vehicles are just really more fun though. I love the sci-fi look of the HAVOC but I think to go up against the HISS tank, the Warthog maybe makes the most sense. My favorite of them all though would be the Whale!
The WHALE is just such a fun vehicle.
I had the Rolling Thunder as a kid and would absolutely love to own the original again, but I wouldn't be opposed to getting a HasLab version either. It would get my vote and my money expeditiously!
Nice. I missed out on the RT back in the O-Ring days so it'd be cool to have a larger version.
I'm highly doubtful Haslab will make any vehicles from beyond 1987 anytime soon.
The Mean Dog is awesome, but I don't think they'll make that one.
Though I would be 100% in on a Maggot! (The biggest ARAH vehicle I had as a kid.)
My picks would be the Tomahawk, Mauler, Moray, Whale, and Conquest.
The MOBAT is popular, but it's so generic. If it didn't have "G.I.Joe" written on the side, you'd never know what franchise it was from. I will happily pass on it, but not the Mauler.
I hope the next Haslab either skips a year, or is something I'm not interested in.
I'm skint, and I don't foresee having much discretionary money any time soon.
I loved the Maggot!
I want a WHALE followed by a BUGG. They perfectly compliment each other. Had both as a kid and would pay top dollar to have them in Classified scale.
I wish I'd gotten the BUGG.
Great choices. A Joe tank to go against the Cobra tank-killer makes the most sense. My top 3 picks would be the MOBAT, Wolverine, and HAVOC. The HAVOC tickles a weird thing I have for vehicles with smaller vehicles tucked inside (like the Night Raven and Momba). Wolverine I just loved as a kid for all its missiles. But the MOBAT seems the obvious choice. First, its really a generic tank so it would go well with any 6" line, not just the Joes. Second, they need to finish up the O13, and this would give collectors and old fans the chance to recreate the cover of GI Joe #1. Toss in a ton of blast effects and some pre-tools for the remaining )13 characters. Bonus figures:
Standard: Steeler, obviously. Has to have his visor, alternate gloved hands, .45 pistol, binoculars, uzi.
#1 Colonel Hawk in green fatigues who could work as a pre-tool for Short-Fuze. If you want to go total fantasy, maybe they add the MMS as a bonus tier.
#2 Grand Slam: Either in silver or orange, with the other slated for a regular release. Can reuse the armor pads for Flash down the road. If you do silver he can come with his jet pack.
#3 This may be unlikely to gain any extra buyers, but Alternate Universe Baroness. Basically the standard figure without glasses though if they want to be cheeky they can give her a pink bathrobe. Maybe toss in a prop or two from the World Without End episodes.
Thank you! I hope the Wolverine can get done without the HasLab model now after seeing the success of the VAMP.
I like your ideas for Col. Hawk and Grand Slam. And I LOVE the World's Without End Baroness.
I'd love to get a Cobra Hydrofoil!
I'd like to see that too!
Chiming in. Issue with Mobat... only holds 1 figure. Prefer Mauler but getting Steeler- original 13 is important. I think most would want a Snowcat... but I still want a retromod (make parts more sturdy that broke on original)3.75 Hovercraft and Hydrofoil first before next Haslab big vehicle
Snowcat would be awesome but I think it should come later down the line
Rumor has it the Snow Cat is coming but not as a HasLab.
I think a water vehicle makes the most sense, especially since Cobra can answer with the Moray or Water Moccasin, but I fear the WHALE is just too big. The few good Joe boats are all either too big or too small, so we might never get one as a Haslab. Sure would be cool, though.
Would love to see a HAVOC. Always wanted one as a kid.
I'm hoping we see the Devil Fish sooner than later!
I think we will. They need another small vehicle to repaint for Tiger Force.
I had a Havoc and it was one of my favorite toys ever
I loved the Mean Dog, but I don't think it's held in as high regard with a lot of other collectors. It would be great to see it at Classified scale, but I would be willing to bet that something like the HAVOC would be more likely.
Collectors are always fickle and the CS team has been changing opinions about old concept figures. I'd love to see what they could do with the Mean Dog.
I'd like to see the MOBAT, but even though it would have to be HUGE, I'd love the Killer W.H.A.L.E.!
The WHALE should be the max size unless they did those complex modular vehicles.
Id prefer to discuss what the next retail vehicle will be, im hoping for the SkyHawk
Ok.
It’s the Mauler next year, it was in the survey that leaked. It is on one of the Rattler patches, and it’s on the Rattler targeting screen
that makes a lot fo sense. most of us are surprised they didn't do it after the hiss tank. sky striker is likely the joe one after that. not sure what would be the next cobra. be nice to get some stuff for the dreadnaughts.
@@Lazrael32 My number one want for this line after a Joe Tank and Jet would be the mini playsets like Outpost Defender, Checkpoint Alpha, or Cobra Bunker. They would translate amazingly well to Classified scale and really liven up your figure display.
Oh man, wish I'd seen the survey before making the video.
I’d pledge the MOBAT, but have zero interest in the Mayler.
@@dicegamer3466 I own both in vintage, the Mauler is much better for a Haslab than the Mobat. The Mobat is great don’t get me wrong but it’s so small compared to the Mauler. Reman toys is releasing a Mobat like tank next year so I hope to have both in Classified by 2026!
Mobat is my list, also the Whale, and Wolervine tank cover girl
There's no need to make the Wolverine as a Haslab project. It's the perfect size for retail shelves.
I think with Pulse or retail they could get away with releasing the Wolverine outside of the HasLab model.
I'm interested in seeing a Havoc but not a haslab. I can see them doing a Whale with figures like Cutter, Torpedo in a gray and orange diving suit like the one 08 and Admiral Keel Haul
Torpedo in his cartoon gear could be another option too!
Mauler will be next and we're also going to see the Command Center as a playset
Good insight Joe. Thanks!
Definitely the warthog it’s an amphibious transport/ tank + Mercer, Taurus, and Red Dog as tiers.
That really feels like an easy layup HasLab for them!
I mean...we don't NEED a Mobat to get Steeler. We already have Cover Girl and Copperhead and no Wolverine or Water Moccasin.
That's true.
I just ordered the Ramen Toys RAV/Mobat Tank with Wolverine attachment.
So, I'm kind of hoping the next HasLab is not the Mobat. I'd like to see some water vehicles like the Hydrofoil or Whale.
Lemme know what you think of Ramen's MOBAT.
@@LylesFigureFiles - You got it, but it's going to be a while.
I just did a quick stocktake of ARAH vehicles, and there are really only 13 that are suitable, and three that are iffy.
The rest are either too big, too small, or have limited appeal.
Here's the list:
83: Skystriker, APC.
84: Whale.
85: Moray, Mauler.
86: Conquest, Havoc, Tomahawk (Stun - not popular enough? Night Raven - probably too big.)
87: Mamba, Maggot.
88: Phantom, Mean Dog, Warthog (Rolling Thunder - too big).
Which would you like to see?
@@LylesFigureFiles They'd all be good, but personally, I'd be most interested in the Whale and Tomahawk.
Some people say that Hasbro's plan is to alternate between Joe and Cobra vehicles, and that they will match them up in pairs of land, air or sea based.
If that's true, it would be logical to get the Mauler to pair with the HISS, and the Whale and Moray to battle it out in the water. Although the Conquest would have been a better match up for the Rattler.
The Maggot and Mean Dog also make a great pair. They share a loot of similarities with their modular designs.
I'd be more interested in some of the smaller vehicles (at retail), like the A.W.E Striker, Triple T, Fang and Skyhawk VTOL.
i imagine after the success of the rattler it'll be the skystriker. the tank (can't think of the name) would be great though Ramen is already making some so maybe they'll skip it. honestly i don't think they are going to go much bigger with the vehicles as awesome as some of the bigger stuff would be.
No way Hasbro would factor in Ramen Toys as a reason not to make something.
@@LylesFigureFiles they would. They look at what could cause a dip in sales and what is selling from other people. Half of g i joe is just chasing other trends that were successful at the time.
Don't get me wrong we need some of your choices to be made but I honestly worry about just how much space they are going to take up
I love the Mean Dog.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one.
THE HAVOC WOULD BE AMAZING
It absolutely would be!
If mobat is the next one out I am definitely going to snag it
Oh yeah! That's a must get for me.
would luv the warthog w the renegades as tiered unlocks
That seems like it'd be a layup HasLab to get all the tiers funded!
@@LylesFigureFiles likely, they could even include a v1 falcon heag fix
I've been saying the Mean Dog for a long time...but I also said I'd like it better as 3 separate releases instead of a Haslab. So we can mix and match.
Maybe Battleforce 2000 might be a better separate release option?
@@LylesFigureFiles I wouldn't buy Battleforce 2000 myself, but maybe it's popular with other people?
I would not be opposed to also Hasbro just releasing a Skystriker and a Night Raven. As for what I think is a good Joe ground vehicle, do an updated Mauler. Heavy Metal, throw in a steel brigade/NF Short Fuse and a Steel Brigade/NF Zap, $350 with early bird 4 patches, land sea air and a OG Joe with colors. I think the next lab will be 350, regardless of what it is, unless it is huge like a whale which would be $400 with pilot and 1 figure and patches, then I'm out. I'm out at more than 350, especially less being offered. For Cobra, I can only think of the Maggot, the other options are just nothing I'd be interested in. Unless it is a Night Raven, or even a Cobra Transport Chopper from the comics, Sikorsky CH-54 Tarhe with attachable command bunker/troop box fwd command center, and you could strap smaller vehicles under it. I'd rather have a Cobra Transport.
Would the $50 more be the breaking point if you got $50 more in value?
I want a Haslab for the original USS Flagg or a classified raven. I would rather have classified sky striker than a ground vehicle.
The Night Raven?
The Mobat is not a $300 worthy haslab vehicle and following on the heels of the rattler would look like a step backwards no forward
The Dragonfly was cheaper than the HISS Tank...
@@LylesFigureFiles ok …..🤷🏻
Mobat. Hatches with room to put figures inside this time.
Yes! I hope they include the extra hatches!
The Mauler motorized tank.
The Mobat can be a general release.
Some people like the HAVOC. Most people I know in real life agree with me that it was a hideous vehicle. And it is controversial. I wouldn't play around. People love tanks. Or the Whale, but then it would be enormous. Keep it at the 300 dollar scale and make a motorized Mauler.
If they do the Mobat it needs a slight redesign. it needs more compartments and a motorized feature with lights and sounds. The Mobat is too simple. I feel it should be a mainline release no greater than 150 and not too large so the Mauler can really stand out next to it.
Yeah I don't think that they're going to add a motor to a mauler or mobat. It would be a big cost factor and I don't think everyone would appreciate it because it doesn't visually enhance the toy
Is anything controversial with the HAVOC besides Cross Country?
HAVOC would be a good choice to match the HISS Tank.
It would be a lot of fun!
Think it will be Killer Whale and then Hydrofoil. Rattler is most likely my last Haslab.
Running out of space?
They should just make a non-Haslab Mobat w Steeler for $150-200 and do the Whale or Skystriker next.
The MOBAT should be around the same size as the HISS. Think they could get away with that outside of the HasLab model?
@@LylesFigureFiles i think without lights and too many extra expensive details it could be done at that price. Main issue is shipping and inventory storage for them. They’d have to sell it direct from pulse and bbts and ee. The more vehicles they sell, the more fans want to get all the figures and go all in on the line.
My vote is the Whale. Would be sick.
Agreed!
Whale is my pick. I don't see them making anything bigger...if they go that big.
I think they've gotta keep pressing the limit to see how far they can go.
@@LylesFigureFiles How big was the Sail Barge? Bigger than a Classified Rolling Thunder would be? lol
Go big or go home! I say Hasbro should do the WHALE next. I would buy at least 2.
Let's go David! I definitely need (want) one WHALE.
The Whale would be great...
It would!
i agree with your list except the mobat if we get a haslab tank the Mauler would be better but that said tanks are boring i don't think it would be a good haslab i wouldn't want either tank to be honest out of your list number 1 Whale 2 Rolling Thunder and 3 Havoc now one not on your list is another air vehicle is the Conquest X-30 i personally think the Mobat could be a pluse store its small enough no motor though
I'm thinking the tanks need to be the same size as the HISS Tank.
The GI Joe H.A.V.O.K with driver Crosscontry
I won't be upset seeing that!
To give gi joe a aircraft, the Conquest X-38
Well, they do have the Dragonfly coming!
I don't see Hasbro moving into the Mobat, Mauler or Wolverine given that Ramen Toys has basically beaten them to the punch with their own 1/12th scale tank that has multiple separate add-ons for configurations to make it into differing G.I. JOE tanks.
I think the H.A.V.O.C., Warthog and Killer W.H.A.L.E. make much more sense, but a HasLab W.H.A.L.E. isn't selling for anything less than $400, and will likely cost more even *if* they downscale it. The W.H.A.L.E. had a pilot perch, two gunner seats, interior seating for four, a spring-loaded attack sled and a recon bike. No Way the pricing on that HasLab ends up being g close to what we've seen so far.
So what would you see them making?
@LylesFigureFiles I think you nailed it with the H.A.V.O.C., Killer W.H.A.L.E., and Warthog (though I'd wishlist the Tomahawk on there as well even though the Dragonfly means we probably won't get *another* Joe chopper any time soon).
The PulseCon reveal said the next bit of background storytelling for releases will be the search for the M.A.S.S. Device which to me means more focus on G.I. Joe: The Movie releases. The H.A.V.O.C. appeared a LOT in that film (as did the Tomahawk).
@@LylesFigureFiles ...the Conquest X-30 should make that list too as size-wise it's close to the Rattler
Damn, how big would the Whale be? I would love it, but wow.
I think there'd be a decent amount of collectors who'd be on board regardless of that shelf space.
It’s kind of odd. They revealed the Rattler before their SDCC event. At the end of that event, they had a picture with Two Rattler’s, 3 Claws, and the GI Joe Base in the background. They said cryptic tease for what’s to come at the end. I’m assuming or taking that as they are doing a GI Joe Base. Since the Rattler was already the in progress Haslab and the Claw is an upcoming retail item. That leaves the big hulking base in the background as a possibility with Skyhawk’s showing up retail as well. Hopefully no Patches or Stickers in tiers.
th-cam.com/video/PvgQfUwOCYA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TxdCXZbdQUFXNjJr
Apparently for the shoots they use old vehicles and playsets so that might not mean anything...yet ;-)
The Pitt from the cartoon
How would that work?
@@LylesFigureFiles they could sell it in 10 parts LoL
I vote Whale It’s THE dream project
Yep!!
The only vehicle that goes well with wild weasel and the Rattler is ace and the sky striker or the killer whale.
100% it should be the Mobat.
I would not be mad seeing the MOBAT!
Id want mean dog, warthog or whale I think if its a Joe vehicle.
Yep all three are Joe vehicles so you win either way.
Havoc!! Havoc!! Stun!!! Stun!!
I think they can get away with making the Stun a regular release outside of the HasLab.
If they put steeler in a haslab, it will piss off completionist aince he is part of the og 13. I see the whale or havoc. Mobat could end up being a mass release because you can use the base for the bridge layer and wolverine.
Wouldn't completionists have already been upset with the HISS Driver, Wild Bill and Wild Weasel?
@LylesFigureFiles naw aint og 13 that they always cry about. Those are all second wave.
I am doing jeff and their is lots of vehicles they can do. I find out that Emily is with other team. She is on the power ranger team
The Power Rangers team? What are they doing on that front?
@@LylesFigureFiles I cant remember that guy name that was on the transformers team, he is on the gi joe team
They need to do the SkyStriker.
I can't see why they won't.
No god, not the Havoc. Gotta be either the MOBAT or the Mauler.
I'd be happy with either one.
THE KILLER WHALE!
I bet it’s going to be HAVOC i just got that feeling but I really don’t care give me all the vehicles and bases ill buy them all
That's pretty much where I'm at too ;-)
Gi joe APC Armored Personnel Carrier! Soooooo Bad!
I still have my original one so I'd definitely be down for that!
Mauler For Sure
The Mauler has had a lot of votes in this unofficial poll.
They need to complete a wave or season before skipping a season let's complete a set before jumping around i was hoping to see thrasher and Zanzibar and sgt slaughter original crew not repainted joes!
They haven't really focused on completing any waves yet. 83 is the closest but we're still gonna wait on Ace.
@@LylesFigureFiles Exactly, but the waves are everywhere they skipped so many when they went to serpentor, in my opinion just finish the first wave of the first season of the cartoon I grew up watching, then start tiger force then so on, then they can add the new characters that came out when we became teenagers and spent most of our time outside and cartoons faded away before we had to join the work force and pay bills!
i would like a whale. mauler or tomahawk anything smaller i would like at retailers no need for lights/electronics
Right. I am so fine to not have lights and electronic parts if it cuts the cost.
Greetings Sir Jeff and you kids in YT Land! The word for today is "FUN"! can you say,"FUN"boys and girls?🤗🎅🏽🧝🏽♂️🧙🏽♂️🦸🏽♂️💃🏽🎉🎃🎄
The WHALE would be cool. But how about the joe headquarters.
How would you like to see that done?
Are Marvel Haslabs gone forever? I was kinda hoping we might see a Tri-Spider Slayer one year...
Just for now. I think they've run out of easy-sell big figures and they are figuring out how to go forward after the Engine of Vengeance crashed. Do they try more obscure giant characters? Another vehicle? A playset?
Just a mini-hiatus.
VAMPs are back on BBTS! $129.99
Welp, they’re gone
I got your message too late to post. Thanks for trying! Hopefully some folks were able to get it!
The MOBAT has a problem. It is a vehicle that is massisive and holds exactly one visible figure. The H.I.S.S. has mulple ways to display 2 plus figures, just like the Dragonfly. The H.A.V.O.C. is a good possibility, but there has to be others.
My money is on a $400 Killer Whale.
I wouldn't be upset to get the WHALE.
Mobat. Yes!
Something affordable maybe? 🤷♂️
LOL.
I would rather Warthog with Sarge over Mobat
Please the Tomahawk
I'm sure we'll see it, but can't see them doing back to back helicopters for the Joes.
Had to skip the Haslab this year. 😢😢😢 Already spent this years big item budget on Skybound's GI Joe comic Kickstarter a few months back
It is a nice Joe kickstarter though!
I don’t care what the next Haslab is, just spare us all the patches. 🤭
LOL.
What is this "disposable cash" you speak of?
LOL. I feel like Starship Troopers. Would you like to learn more?
Whale or Mauler.
Either are good choices!
I’m all in on a whale
The WHALE army is growing!
If you want the tank, grab the Ramen toys one. 140 early bird price. I got the Hellcharger and it is gorgeous! Don't worry about third party quality. You can also get the bridge layer attachment and the Wolverine missle launchers. But three of the tank and one each of the add on and have three vehicles for probably only a little more than the Haslab will be. They also have a Cobra tank and some really cool blast effects that are amazing. Only downside is no figures.
I want a Steeler figure so the Ramen Toys won't help me in that case. I do want to get Ace's Bravestar!
@@LylesFigureFiles They could always just make that figure, just like I'm hoping they still make a Robbie Reyes!
The WHALE.
Let's go!
I had this idea last night while watching this video. Stay with me, because this isn't short.
The G.I. Joe Classified line has now had three wildly successful HasLab campaigns in a row, and there's no reason to suspect the next one won't be equally if not more successful. But the highest performing HasLab to date is the Marvel Legends Galactus, which was followed by the Ghost Rider Engine of Vengeance, which did not fund. The second highest HasLab is the Star Wars Razorcrest; that was followed by the Black Series Rancor, which did not fund. Marvel Legends' Giant Man HasLab didn't meet its funding threshold until the day before the deadline, so you know the brand team at Hasbro were sweating for a while. When these projects fail to fund, it lands with a very loud thud. And it's hard to predict; Hasbro might over-price it, or not provide as much and collectors stay away because they don't think the value is there. There could be exterior economic conditions that force people to cut down on their hobby budget. There could simply be fatigue among the collectors.
The Marvel Legends team was wise to suspend their HasLab plans (if only temporarily) and try something different. This year they're offering Dragon Man as a made-to-order item with a six week preorder window. If you want this product, you can pre-order anytime during that window. There is no chance it will sell out because they haven't produced them yet. And it's much cheaper than a typical HasLab product, which gives collectors some financial breathing room.
I think, rather than doing another HasLab for 2025, the Classified team should take this same approach. Instead of doing a big $300+ vehicle in a crowd-funded system, how about two $150 made-to-order vehicles spaced six months apart?
Last year, a rumor kicked off that Hasbro was making the G.I. Joe Snowcat and the Dreadnok Thunder Machine. That rumor seems to have fizzled out, but there is still a hungry market for those. Individually, they're smaller than a HasLab, but they're significantly bigger than the V.A.M.P./Stinger, so they would probably cost between $125 and $150. At that size, they'd almost certainly be Pulse exclusives anyway. So what if next March you were able to pre-order a Classified G.I.Joe Snowcat. The pre-order window was eight weeks; you could order multiples. There was no limit or chance it might sell out. And then in September Hasbro offered the Dreadnok Thunder Machine. Same idea; limited window, but you were guaranteed to get it if you wanted it. At the end of the year--if you bought both--it would cost you $300, the same as a HasLab, but the charge to your credit card wouldn't hit you all at once.
You could argue this is less beneficial to Hasbro because more people might buy just one of the two offerings and thus only spend half the money. A lot of fans, however, who can't afford a HasLab or don't have the space for a W.H.A.L.E. that's the size of a computer desk would go for the Thunder Machine, so it could bring in new collectors who don't go for the HasLab. Others might by one Thunder Machine and multiple Snowcats. And if this system was successful, maybe Hasbro follows it with the Joe Wolverine and the Cobra Water Moccasin or the Joe Desert Fox and the Cobra Stun.
I think this would be a welcome and exciting alternative to a HasLab campaign. Collectors could get two awesome and still sizable vehicles, but with a bit of relief to their bank account. And there's no chance this production would "fail to fund", thus causing a backlash or trepidation in the Joe fan community.
What say you? Assuming *both* is not an option, would you prefer an offering like this, or repeat the same HasLab structure as before?
I like that approach, but aren't they kinda doing that and supporting a HasLab with the Stinger and the Rattler and I guess we just got the VAMP this year too, right? I think there's a tipping point but of all the Hasbro lines it seems they can still rely on the collectors to keep buying.
I do REALLY appreciate an offering like the Dragon Man, which is no fuss and no sweat about getting it.
Hi jeff, how are u
Great. How're you my friend?
Threw is no way a whale would be less than $500
Maybe.
Cover girls Wolverine
I think with the VAMP they could get away with making the Wolverine outside of a HasLab now.
Whale will be too big.. 3.75 already big
Mauler easy
That clearly seems to be the fan favorite here.
