when Bald in the very first video announced that he is gonna make a journey through trans-Siberian railway I thought "so pitty he is gonna miss Tomsk, since railway is going by". I was really surprised to see he is really going to visit Tomsk (it's 300km away from Novosibirsk). Such a pitty he stayed only for a single night. We'we got much to show here: old wooden houses, universities, nature. Please come back and stay for another day or two, you will never regret about that
When i visited Lysva near Perm, I just assumed most people lived in the Soviet apartments in the winter and in the wooden houses in the summer. It was a fantastic journey though.
When Bald said he would be going to Tomsk for personal reasons, I assumed it be the same as mine. I'm 10+ years older, but to me Tomsk is the clever engineer from the Wombles.

It's sad that you, Benjamin, are passing by such an interesting city as Omsk for the second time. We have something to see, and 250 km from Omsk, in the Omsk region, the village of Okunevo and five lakes near it is one of the places of power in the world, there are many strange and interesting events happening there. By the way, Omsk is also a millionaire, a little smaller than Novosibirsk, even if not so modern, but there is a lot of pre-revolutionary and Soviet architecture. And our people, in contrast, from Novosibirsk are more provincial, and therefore, more friendly and responsive. Please bring this comment to the top so that Ben will definitely notice it!

Oh, my! 🥰 Thank you so much for your video about Siberia, my homeland! And your Russian is sooooooo good! I'm so happy to watch it because I'm from Tomsk, a Tomichka :D By the way, it's not 'Tomachi', it's 'Tomichi', 'Tomich' for males, 'Tomichka' for females. 😊 That funny lovely woman in Novosibirsk was right about people in Novosibirsk; they are cold or colder. She might be from a town; we, people, from towns view big city people like this. But still it depends; I love Saint Petersburg culture for example. Russia is too vast and diverse to jump to quick conclusions about such differences but Siberians in general are viewed as some of the most humble and warm people. I was rolling in laugh at 19:50 😂 My Tomsk family still use those. 😂 Lenin monuments are still all over Siberia; in Tomsk central square there’s a big Lenin Monument next to a church. 😂 A friend from Netherlands sent me this video and when I saw the title contains Deepest Siberia” I thought it must be about a tourist going into Taiga forest or somewhere in Yakutia because for us, Russians, Novosibirsk, Tomsk are not the deepest Siberia; in fact, it’s the opposite, it's a developed/industrialised Siberia. Novosibirsk is the third largest city in Russia and Tomsk has been always called "Little Siberian Europe" due to the good number of universities and the international relations it's got. Taiga and Taishet are 'deeper' but still a bit far from the deepest. It's just interesting how perspectives differ. Again thank you for getting in real touch with the locals, and I’m sure you left a great impact on them; they’ll remember your friendliness and kindness. If more tourists like you were visiting Russia, I believe Russians would change their views of foreigners, the world and their own place in it. “What am I going to do? Stuck in Taish**. 😂 Good luck! You’l need it.

I am consistently impressed by the Russian public transportation infrastructure, all the railway stations I've seen in your videos are beautiful and unique, I wrongly assumed that such attention was only given to the Moscow metro.
You forgot to visit the public toilet at Taiga Station. This station is a transfer station for Tomsk residents. I don’t know how it is now, but in Soviet times it was a legendary toilet. It was famous for its terrible smell, which hurt the eyes and could faint. But if you needed to urinate, then there was no choice and you had to go to this toilet.
I've followed you from the start, Mr Bald. I'm not normally a commenter on videos but I just wanted you to know that this is my favourite channel. Bus ticket ladies probably couldn’t find UK in their software because I think it was named there as Соединенное Королевство (Soedinennoye Korolevstvo), which literally means United Kingdom, and it is official name of UK in Russia. But nobody among common people in Russia really use that name of UK, usually they refer as Velikobritania (Great Britain), or just Anglia (England), but of course there is no such country in official software.

Hello, my friend! I'm 56, and I'm starting to learn English, because at school and university I studied French and Czech, which were almost completely useless in life. By the way, I live in Siberia, in Omsk - in a city that is Bald, unfortunately passed. For you, as a fan of Dostoevsky, I inform you that for the 200th anniversary of the writer, a bench was set up in Omsk on the banks of the Irtysh, where Rodion Raskolnikov and Sonya Marmeladova from Crime and Punishment reconciled (there are three more monuments to Dostoevsky and the university and a literary museum named after him in Omsk). With best wishes, Oleg Shevarёv.

@@newsunderfoot that's so awesome! I wish that I could see that for myself. Crime and Punishment was the best novel I have ever read. After that I read Fyodor Dostoevsky's Biography and tried very hard to read War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy, but that was just too involved with the war with France and too long. Dostoevsky's characters are gripping and you really care for them. The psychological torture that the main character endures in Crime and Punishment was so well described that it puts the reader in his shoes. Nice to meet a fellow reader. Siberia sounds so interesting and now I could see some of the places that Benjamin is showing to us. Really appreciative of that. 😊

when Bald in the very first video announced that he is gonna make a journey through trans-Siberian railway I thought "so pitty he is gonna miss Tomsk, since railway is going by".

That funny lovely woman in Novosibirsk was right about people in Novosibirsk; they are cold or colder.
Lenin monuments are still all over Siberia; in Tomsk central square there’s a big Lenin Monument next to a church. 😂
A friend from Netherlands sent me this video and when I saw the title contains Deepest Siberia” I thought it must be about a tourist going into Taiga forest or somewhere in Yakutia because for us, Russians, Novosibirsk, Tomsk are not the deepest Siberia; in fact, it’s the opposite, it's a developed/industrialised Siberia.
