ХТЗ tractors were all over Eastern Europe back in the day. The legendary Харковчанка (Harkovian) giant Antarctic vehicle was also produced there. But most importantly, if you read or watch Victor Suvorov whose tank regiment was based in Harkov, ХТЗ covertly stood for Harkov Tank Industries, and they would switch tractor into tank production very quickly indeed if needed, churning out thousands of tanks. What I see is a post-industrial dystopia so prevalent in every region that lost its industrial life and trying to get by with the leftovers from the past.

Just the type of person I like.
I am so grateful for the side trip into the library--thank you.

Makes me so sad that look at the fun and frolics of Bald and Johnny in Kharkiv normal life beautiful city just a few months ago and now today March 11, 2022 a total disaster a senseless war. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦
Johnny is like a direct descendant of Gengis Khan 😂 you should always bring him with you, whenever you're entering a dodgy neighborhood
Half of Asia are descendants of Ghengis Khan so I wouldn’t be surprised
Dude had 3 balls
Plot twist : Johnny and Bald were the gopniks all along.
Residents reported a 2-man crime wave of random street assaults
Maybe the real gopniks were the friends we made along the way.
I’ve lived in Kharkiv for 3 years now… never felt scared at all. Sure you get some drunks but they are normally pretty polite here… I am more afraid of the metro knickknack sellers who won’t leave you alone once they find out your English/ Australian.
I was in Odessa Lviv and Kiev .. Odessa amazing in summer and Arcadia wow

Johnny makes a good companion. You need to keep along for your adventures.
As a resident of Baltimore, this KHtz place seems nice enough .
Bald would never risk his life in Baltimore. Any country south of the border is safer than the streets of Baltimore.
Yeah bruh, there really are some neighborhoods that you should be worried of. My first thoughts drifted to Baltimore, st Louis, Detroit, etc.
Karkiv is literally paradise compared to Baltimore..
@Robert ArnoldAny US city where whites aren’t in large numbers is usually a bad place
To be honest, beyond the surface I just know that the locals have it hard.
I have had some good times in XTZ. I lived one Metro Station past XTZ for years and it is a lot safer than Los Angeles or New York but the locals will tell you differently; they always want people to believe Ukraine is the worst.
Please do more collabs. Johnny is super chill and it's a really positive vibe.

Bald you handsome rascal you! I’m a Soviet studies major and have followed your adventures for years now. If ever in Los Angeles you have a friend lots of conversation in store and a place to stay if you’d want. I have no friends to endlessly talk about Soviet and Slavic history and culture with and drive my loved ones insane - also I’m happy to be one of your 3% of female viewers that made me feel a little special haha - all the best in the new year 🧡
I loved the interaction with the ladies at the library. That was real.
Have been re-watching every single one of Bald’s videos again, more than once. I am SO fucking happy he is uploading again. My soul pleased and very much at peace. 👊🏼
The fact that you can just walk up to a homeless man sifting through the bin and he doesn't even skip a beat is kind of testament to how comfortable he feels living there.
I would rather say not comfortable, but measured life since this homeless man has no reason to hate everyone and be rude. But I agree with you in general ;)
Crazy seeing this video and what Kharkiv looks like now
When as a child I lived in Trench Town in Kingston Jamaica, people were terrified of the place. We were puzzled as to why. The place was perfectly peaceful.
Well, this shit about Kharkov is old granny tales - 20 years ago it was dangerous but now it's just run down and in shabbles.
