Yeah it's still a really good camera today. It has most of the features most people need and it's a nice small compact camera. The AF and low light performance are a little lackluster compared to some of today's cameras but it is a 7 year old camera and you can buy them really cheap nowadays.
@@stevelitton hmmm I film more vlogs than talking heads so a monitor wouldn't be ideal but thanks for the tip ! This a few other videos are getting me to use my GH5 again :) even though I really like my Sony now
You know ive been shooting shorts on my main channel for drumming clips and its always so narrow width wise having the gh5 in verticle, tried this out and it is def wider, gonna try it out this weekend for another clip.
Thanks - did you - inadvertently - slip - in the summation at the very end - to a reference to the “GH 6” ? No worries - we know it’s the GH 5 that’s the subject of the video.
@@aleksanderkobus8781 I have recorded 4K on there for longer than that so I think it would probably be fine. You would need a V Mount battery and a couple of big SD cards set up to relay recording though. I have a video on how to setup relay recording here 👉 th-cam.com/video/Q0fb-yvKVWQ/w-d-xo.html
Thats right, the only mode that will work with those settings is MP4 (LPCM). If you go into the menu you will see all the other options are greyed out.
@@the_bkeeper Thank you. There are pros and cons with slight variations between the shooting settings and options. MP4 and MOV also playback slightly better or worse depending on what editing machine you use. In this situation, it's the only option.
GH5 was way ahead of its time. I wish was into cameras back then and owned one of these.

I've bought used GH5 mainly for this and it works good. You also shoot video in 30p in this mode when switching to NTSC.
Good to hear it working well for you 👍
I wish it was getting more updates to add the 9 by 16 guideline for vertical video
It seems unlikely now but there are some monitors that have guides for different aspect ratios.

@@MoonbearDiedHereAh that's fair enough. Maybe you could go with the low tech route of a screen protector and a marker 🙂
@@MoonbearDiedHere You can get screen protectors the size of the lcd. Draw on your own with a permanent marker
10/10 Video. Told me everything I needed to know and more!
Thank you. Glad you found it useful 👍

Oh yeah, it would be worth a try to see if you find the footage easier to work with.

Does it have video time limit on 6k?
I can't say I have ever encountered one. I don't believe any of the options on the camera have time limitations.
@@stevelitton Some people say it's 10 minutes or 30 minutes on 6k only
I did a quick test today and there is no 10 minute or 30 minute cap.
@@stevelitton Thanks for testing this. Do you think it will overheat while doing 6k vidoes after 4 hours straight?

Hi, can you shoot in mov format in open gate for gh5? I tried switching to mov but it remained in mp4. Thanks

Hi. Great video. Are there any disadvantages of shooting mp4 instead of mov? Thanks

So in term of quality, is better to shoot 6k longgp 200mbit versus 4k all-i 400mbit?
