    I have to have this board!

    So, in short: get the deck, add a set of rkps and some slightly bigger wheels and you'll have a good cheap starter board that can do a little bit of everything

    I have TKP 130 trucks and 63mm fatty hawgs on my ripper and love it. (I'm more of a carving guy so the zippyness of the turns works well).

    I took the original wheels off the Landyachtz Blaze and put Fatty Hawgs on it and now it feels amazing! Thought i would have a ton of wheel bite but I haven't gotten an ounce of wheel bite

    I just got a pair of caliber rkps for mine! they're slightly too wide but that's fine :) So excited to test it out tho ^^

    I picked up one during Black Friday sale. I wedged dewedged the 130 TKPs as soon as it arrived. Initial impression, feels pretty good. Poor man’s Comet without the wait

      I'm thinking about doing the same thing. I wonder how it would feel compared to @LongboardingExplained 's RKP customizations, and if the difference would be worth the extra cost of buying RKP trucks.

    Awesome video, and really appreciate the follow up!
    I wonder why LY don't provide an RKP option as standard 😕

    Your videos are great. Thanks for uploading all your research! Question: would 70mm wheels work on the Ripper without changing the trucks (or adding new risers)? Or is it necessary to change out the trucks for them to fit without severe biting?

    • @LongboardingExplained
      @LongboardingExplained  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't check when I tried, but you should get just a hint of bite

    • @maxjarvela4255
      @maxjarvela4255 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It totally works, been riding the one with 155tkps with 70mm supremes for almost a year now, no wheelbite even with looser trucks ^^

      probably be too complicated to put together with the split plates and bushings, but def an option for people who can buy the parts seperately

    • @mickeybreezy
      @mickeybreezy ปีที่แล้ว

      They actually do offer a setup pretty similar to this. You can get either the 155mm trucks with the EZ hawgz 63mm or the 130mm trucks with the fatty hawgz 63mm. Not as big of wheels obviously but the narrower trucks with wider wheels I would think would really change the feel.

    I love this board and an considering changing to RKP trucks because of this video.
    This is my only longboard and I'm still learning to slide. Which is easier, the TKP 130s, or RKP 130s?
    If I only get one angle, any recommendations on the angle and wedging options?
    I appreciate it! I'm loving longboarding and your awesome videos & blog.

    • @LongboardingExplained
      @LongboardingExplained  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      RKP trucks all the way! If you get the 40* truck option, you can wedge up to 45 and down to 35, it will give you atruck that is still turny and stable

      You'd actually be so suprised, it's super chill and doesn't feel out of place on a truck that narrow

    Great Video! I am looking for a top mount pumper: would u recommend the ripper deck for predominately for pumping? Or would the dipper work better?

    • @guitarwi3rdo
      @guitarwi3rdo 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they're both essentially the same deck, only the ripper has the kicktail whereas the dipper doesn't

    I'm thinking of dewedging my back truck from 50° to 40°. How thick of a riser do i need on the front to even it out?

    • @LongboardingExplained
      @LongboardingExplained  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it depends on the height of your wedge. The one I use only casues an increase of about 1/8th

      Landyachtz Freedive is a good candidate, Moonshine sidekick, comet cruiser, Zenit Mini Marble, Omen mini sugar ... probably a couple more that aren't coming to mind

    Personally I really don't like the 70mm supremes. They ride quite hard over rough roads, uou feel every little bump. I enjoyed orangatang wheels a lot more. Just personal preference tho

    • @swannybo1sk8s9
      @swannybo1sk8s9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tbh i would say the supreme is a freeride wheel its got really dope slide characteristics and grips as well ive just about cored a set of stims and they are def a more gushy wheel i learned to slide on them so they got a spot as good wheels but i prefer the supremes for sliding myself

    • @LongboardingExplained
      @LongboardingExplained  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree, but with teh flexibility of the Ripper deck it sort of absorbs any vibrations and it isn't soo bad. I do think an Otang wheel would be good on this. I do want a wheel that rolls fast and slides easy for this setup

      In my experience with the stimulus wheels in 80a orange they were a bit slow for 80a wheels but the purp 83s my buddy has are pretty quick jus not as grippy 🤷 otangs pretty dope but i like wheels in the 75a-80a range
